Lionpride knocked the moss ball back to Purekit "Push harder with your back legs to go faster" the large tom chuckled watching his son as they played moss ball. He had let all of his children pick something for them to do together with just of them two of them. With 11 siblings, he wanted to make sure that all the kits go a little bit of his time. Nova

Purekit had been entirely focused on the moss ball that his father had been batting between his large paws. The little ginger tom had crouched down, wriggling his rump as his tail waved in the air and his tongue poking out through the side of his mouth. The moment Lionpride had pushed the moss ball back towards him, Purekit pounced on it, with a soft little squeal. “I got it!” He exclaimed, completely forgetting what it was his father had instructed him to do and instead started batting at it with his hind paws racer

Lionpride chuckled, used to the kit antics after have twelve little ones running around. Yet everyone of the kits had their own very unique personality and challenges. "Good good" he purred, watching in amusement "You are going to be quite the ferocious hunter when you become an apprentice. You are not going to leave anything for the rest of us to catch"

Purekit smiled brightly at his father’s words. “Yea! I’ll bring back so much prey! I’ll be the best hunter in Sunclan! Mongoose will definitely be a big help too!” He squealed flexing the first claw on his little paw. “He’ll help me bring down lots of stuff! I could even bring down the biggest hawk ever! It’ll be bigger than you, dad!”

"I can't wait for that day!" he praised warmly, "How about we put your skills to the test on a real hunt?" he asked, with a purr. He sat down and placed one of his large paws down on the moss ball "I am sure there are some mice scurrying around in the maze, and as long as you stay close to me it shouldn't be to dangerous for you to practice your hunting"

"Really?" Purekit squealed, his eyes lighting up in excitement. "Do you really mean it? I'll show you! I've got the best hunting skills ever! I bet I'm even better than the warriors!" He squealed, already making a beeline for the nursery entrance while a piece of moss was dragged out with him after being snagged on his little claw. "No mouse will be able to last long with me and my claws!"

Lionpride chuckled, rising to his paws and following after Purekit. The young tom was so enthusiatic that it was hard not to smile himself "Of course, of course. But remember to stay close" he let the younger cat lead the way into the maze. He knew it like the back of his paw, and wasn't to worried about them getting lost. "The thing about the maze is that every sound you make is even louder here because of the echos. So to catch a mouse you are going to have to be quiet"

"I can do that...!" Purkit said, his voice falling to a hushed whisper as he ran back and forth beneath Lionpride before he ran towards the entrance of the maze. "I'll be so quiet they won't even know I'm coming...! Besides, I think I'm still too little to make a noise big enough to make an echo in the big maze..!"

Lionpride chuckled, leading the way into the maze so that his son could have a chance to try out his hunting skills "First lets see if you can find a mouse" he meowed gently, keeping a close eye on the younger cat "Take in a few deep breaths and see if you can find a scent trail to follow. You know what mice smell like from the fresh kill pile. Try and concentrate on that"

"You got it, dad...!" He said in a hushed whisper. Purekit, being as dramatic as ever, took in a few huge deep breaths that would puff his chest out. At least, this was how he imagined a warrior would try and track down prey. He couldn't say it worked very well. He wasn't sure it worked at all. But he was persistent. He'd find that scent no matter what.
"Let me try that again." Purekit grumbled, wiggling his rump a bit as he focused. He took in a few more deep breaths before he looked off to his left. "That way, dad...! At least I think"

"lead the way" Lionpride purred while watching the young kit. Everyone had to start somewhere and today was more about having fun than actually catching anything. He was just going to let him follow his instincts so long as he stay close and safe "Now try and follow it"

Purekit looked up at his dad and nodded eagerly. "Come on Mongoose..!" He giggled as he unsheathed his little claws. "We're finally going hunting...!"
The little tabby couldn't contain his excitement. His tail swayed behind him as he followed the scent he picked up before. Or well thought he picked up before. He was sure this was the right way! Purekit's gut was telling him that it was, so it had to be right! He would pause every once in a while within the maze, taking in another deep breath before he would turn a corner and scurry off in a new direction

Lionpride simply stayed close, guiding his kit away from the dangerous areas but for the most part just allowed him to explore "If you keep running, all the mice will go into hiding" he mused, but there was only oy written on his face
