Lovelypaw and Saltpaw are sent on a small adventures to investigate the sighting of a "snake monster" near the bone yard. You know what they say, mystery make the heart grow fonder... or was that distance? Eh its sure to be a fun time either way. woofmeow
Saltpaw's pride had been wounded by the disaster of his first blind date, but today was a new day and a new date and, he told himself, this one was definitely going to be more sane than Havenpaw. He was ready to show off his fearsome fighting skills in front of Lovelypaw as he took down a fearsome snake monster to win her affection. I mean, how hard could it be to kill a snake monster?
He was still haunted by one thing from his previous date, though. "So," he said casually as he and Lovelypaw began their walk towards the boneyard. "What do you think of Bloodystar?" He had to make sure he wasn't paired up with another heretic.
Lovelypaw was not super enthused about this date. Saltpaw was lanky in all the wrong ways, looked constipated every time she saw him, and was that egg she smelled on him? She could have sworn there was something yellow lodged in his fur but she wasn't about to ask questions she wasn't prepared to receive answers to.
Then he brought up Bloodystar, and a flip switched like a flying horse, and suddenly she was highly enthused about this date. Nothing like talking about another guy with your date to get the romance brewing. "Isn't Bloodystar SO HOT! He's like the greatest thing ever to exist in SunClan and he's definitely easy on the eyes. I bet the Sun God looks just like him," she chattered breathlessly, everything spewing out of her in rapid succession.
Saltpaw felt a wave of relief wash over him. She was a believer! "I agree! Bloodystar is the best thing that's ever happened to this clan - nay, to the whole forest," he enthused. He was also definitely kind of hot, although he wasn't sure he wanted to admit that out loud. "I went on a date earlier with this she-cat who told me she didn't believe he was the rightful High Priest. Can you believe that?!"
"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? That's cRaZy! If Bloodystar wasn't meant to be the High Priest, the Sun God would have intervened by now!" Of course, the Sun God couldn't exactly do anything right now, being slain by Littlestar and all, but that was even more of a sign that Bloodystar was meant to be their leader!
Saltpaw nodded all throughout Lovelypaw's impossibly long Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?, with an I know right? expression on his face. "I know! And then she said that he was just like a bug and she was going to squish him under her feet!" he said, heavily paraphrasing what Havenpaw had actually said.
"Anyway, I'm glad he set me up with you instead," he purred, puffing his chest up in an effort to look big and strong as the boney bones of the boneyard began to come into view in the distance. "And I bet Bloodystar will be really proud of us when we bring this snake monster's head back to camp."
Lovelypaw appreciated the fact that Saltpaw nodded all throughout Lovelypaw's impossibly long Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?, with an I know right? expression on his face, thinking to herself that even if he wasn't much of a looker, at least they had some common ground. Her eyes bulged out of her head at his paraphrased explanation of his previous date, much like how bug guts would bulge from their bodies when they were squished under feet. "That's absurd! Bloodystar is way too tall for someone to step on, unless they were really big! Did you date a giant?"
The boney bones of the boneyard were in sight now, looking regal in the way they were so porcelain and clean, like something had stripped off the meat off and kicked them clean. A giant snake monster perhaps? Lovelypaw shivered at the imagery becoming lucid in her brain, subconsciously stepping a little bit closer to Saltpaw and kind of admiring how she could see his ribcage when he stood up taller, his skin taut against his boney bone frame. "I'm glad I have such a strong guy to protect me. You'll let it eat you first, right? So I can get away?"
Saltpaw appreciated that Lovelypaw appreciated the fact that Saltpaw nodded all throughout Lovelypaw's impossibly long Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?, with an I know right? expression on his face, and appreciated that she was responding to his horror story with the appropriate amount of shock. "No! Havenpaw's normal-sized, so she really must be crazy," he huffed, as if not believing in Bloodystar's greatness wasn't enough proof already.
Saltpaw suppressed his own shivers as they entered the boney boneyard with its spooky boney bones, more bothered by the way that they had all been kicked so clean. What great monster had feet powerful enough to do that? He shuddered to think what would happen to his own bones when he was no longer in possession of them. As he felt Lovelypaw move closer to him, though, he reminded himself that he was a big strong tom and this was his chance to impress her with his masculinity and finally start honoring the Sun God properly. She must be admiring my muscles, he thought to himself as he caught Lovelypaw sneaking a look at his ribcage.
"It won't get a chance to eat me," he boasted, inwardly feeling his stomach seize with fear. Was it really going to try and eat him? He couldn't die before the end of the romance festival! And Cleaver owned his soul anyway. "Because I'm going to kill it first!"
Lovelypaw appreciated Saltpaw appreciated that Lovelypaw appreciated the fact that Saltpaw nodded all throughout Lovelypaw's impossibly long Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?, with an I know right? expression on his face, and her maw gaped in abject horror at his remark. "She really must be crazy," she lamented, sending up a silent prayer to the totally not dead Sun God to help their denmate.
Lovelypaw was careful to step around the spoopy spooky boney bones that got kicked so clean by feet so powerful. She did not think of what might happen to her bones if she was not in possession of them. She was wondering what it must be like to kick boney bones clean and if the same powerful feet that kicked them were the feet that would be able to squish Bloodystar's insides out like bulging bugs. "Siltpaw!" She turned to him wildly. "We have to kill it! What if it has big feet and squashes Bloodystar?!"
Just then, she felt a tremor shake the ground under their boney feet, so small unlike the snake monster's. Lovelypsw gulped and pressed into Siltpaw's side even more now, ears pinning back against her skull. "I think it's coming..."

Really, the worst thing about Saltpaw not being in possession of his boney bones wasn't what was going to happen to them but the fact that he was not in possession of them. "No, I don't think snakes have feet," he said uncertainly, although thanks to Lovelypaw he was now imagining a terrifying snake monster that was not only a terrifying snake monster but had feet large enough to kick bones clean and squish Bloodystar like a bug (and probably take his bones, somehow). What kind of awful monster looked like a snake AND had feet? He was grateful that beasts like that didn't exist in the real world, even in normal non-squish-you-like-a-bug sizes. (They did, he was imagining a giant lizard). He was so distracted by the horrifying thought that he didn't even notice Lovelypaw call him by the wrong name.
He let out an involuntary yelp that he tried to pass off as a threatening don't-mess-with-me-snake-monster growl as the ground began to shake and Lovelypaw pressed against him. "I'll p-protect you," said Saltpaw, doing his best to make his voice sound like anything except a whimper and failing horribly.

Truly, it would be very terrifying to come face-to-face with a giant snake beast with legs filled with boney bones and feet so big they could kick spoopy boney bones clean and squish totally normal sized Bloodystar's guts out like regular teeny tiny buggy bugs. Lovelypaw could not imagine such a big and awful snake monster, but if it was in the business of taking bones, then it would have enough boney bones for many, many legs! So many legs that maybe it was less of a snake monster and more of a spider monster or a centipede monster! She quaked at the notion of a snake beast with many, many legs that were all capable of kicking bones clean and making cat guts on the inside become cat guts on the outside. "What if it's a centipede monster!" gasped Lovelypaw.
She was grateful to be with someone so brave like Saltpaw, with his voice that was so full of bravery that it was rising in pitch and his body that was so scrawny that she could see him visibly shaking with the desire he had to protect her. What a guy! She would remember him fondly when he was eaten by the snake-spider-centipede monster.

As terrified as he was about coming face-to-face with a gigantic snakey snake monster with giant feety feet that they could kick all of the dead?-alive?-in-purgatory? sunny Sun God of lore's boney bones clean while simultaneously squishing him like a buggy bug, it was infinitely MORE terrifying to imagine a snake-spider-centipede monster with enough stolen boney bones to create hundreds of leggy legs. I mean who did this snakey spidery centipedey monstery snake-spider-centipede-monster think it was, some kind of river??? Why did Lovelypaw have to put that thought in his head?! Saltpaw shook like a leafy leaf in the windy wind.
"I-I e-eat centipede m-monsters for b-breakfast," he stuttered, cowering over Lovelypaw as the groundy ground trembled threateningly underneath them and the dust on the horizon coalesced coalescingly into a horrifying shape. It was not particularly snake shaped, or centipede shaped, or even spider shaped, but it was horrifyingly horrifying nonetheless. It was ten cat-lengths tall, rumbled like thunder, and had massive feet that fulfilled all of Saltpaw's worst fears and more - they rotated. How could they do that? Even worse, as the dust began to clear, he could see that it was all topped off by a shiny black buggy helmet. A BUG was going to squish them like bugs! "Sun God save us!" he yowled as the beast approached.

She was also a mere mortaly mortal but she listened not with her furry ears but her spirity ears.
Lovelypaw was not scaredy scared of coming face-to-face with a titanicly titanic snakey snake monster with giant feety feet on all of its many, many leggy legs that could kick all of the undead-double dead-maybe alive?-totally godly sunny Sun God's boney bones clean while simultaneously squashing him like a buggy bug with all its gutty guts bleeding out, because why would she be? She had the most braviest brave cat in the whole enchantedy forest at her side! Salty Saltpaw! Who shook so passionately passionate about standing between her and the worst of deathy deaths! Who enunciated all his wordy words so very slowly so that the snakey spidery centipedey monstery snake-spider-centipede monster that was also some kind of rivery river would be able to heary hear the threaty threat for sure! Her hearty heart shuddered in her chesty chest.
But it was not snake shaped, or spider shaped, or centipede shaped, or even sunny Sun God shaped when it roared towards them! This beasty beast that surpassed all other beasts' beastliness did not have many, many leggy legs nor was it particularly big (compared to the titanic lizard they were expecting) but all four of its leggy legs spun like donuts that were dropped out of a donut box and were careening down a busy sidewalk. Why was they spinning?? How could it do that???!?
But Saltpaw, so brave and so honorable, called out to their sunny Sun God and brought down the gracey grace of their godly God of lorey lore.
The huge buggy BUG that wanted to smush them like bugs instead veered over their heady heads, the windy wind whistling through their luxurious fur and rattling Saltpaw harder than a train rattles the railroad tracks if she knew what trains or railroad tracks were (which she didn't because she was a mere catty cat). The buggy BUG charged away on its four donuty leggy legs, the ground settling as it moved off into the distancey distance. "Saltpaw!" gushed Lovelypaw. "You're so brave! You scared it away!"

Saltpaw was VERY scaredy scared of the gigantically gigantic buggy monstery bug monster bearing down on them with its donutty donut paws and its big scary buggy head, even more than he had been scaredy scared at the thoughty thought of the centipedy centipede monster slashy slash spidery spider monster slashy slash snakey snake monster slashy slashy giant lizard monster who would squishy squish all of them, including bloody Bloodystar and the sunny Sun God, with its gianty giant feety feet and stealy steal all of their boney bones like some kind of rivery river while their gutsy guts spilly spilled everywhere, and for a split second he wasn't even sure that the immortaly-immortal-maybe-totally-mortal-but-wait-isn't-the-whole-point-of-a-god-that-they're-omniscient-immortal-beings sunny goddy Sun God of lorey lore could savey save them.
I DON'T WANNA DIE BEFORE I HONOR THE SUN GOD, he thoughty thought as the monstery monstery borey bore downy down on them. He wondered wonderingly if they had timey time to honor the sun god before the monstery monster crushy crushed them to death. How long could it take?? And then it saily sailed over their heads while he rattled rattlingly like the railroady railroad tracky tracks that he had never heard of.
He had done it. He had scared off the fearsome monster and saved Lovelypaw from its wrathy wrath! "Yeah! That's right!" he called after the monster, but not too loud in case it heard him and decided to come back. "And stay away!" Saltpaw pully pulled himself up to his full height and puffed out his chesty chest, still shaky shaking in the windy wind as the dusty dust settled around them. He had proved he was the bravest brave tom in the Clan! You could heary hear his knees shaking, but all heroes knees definitely did that.
