Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Early morning sunlight filtered through the tall canopy, captured and refracted through the tiny water droplets littering the ground. The late night rains had given refreshment to an atmosphere choked with the shriveled death of leafbare: it served as a rare relief to cats that had been beaten by moons of unforgiving frost and snow. A morning warm enough to permit droplets to cling to grass like a vast net was a salve to all weary cats. Dewkit, her white coat sticking out like a sore thumb amongst her surroundings, admired the sight in solitude. She'd spent most of her time in Fallclan alone, since she'd arrived to her new abode the morning before. It wouldn't be long before she would shuttled off to a new home with new faces, she knew. The three frost-bitten moons of her life had taught her a hard lesson: don't get too attached. She lifted her gaze as a loud snore emitted from the nursery she'd just emerged from. The camp still slept peacefully. A small smile played on her lips as she silently conceded that this place was nicer than her last residence. Still, she reminded herself instinctively, don't get too attached.
Otterkit was wide awake first thing in the morning, as per his normal schedule. Though he couldn't help but admit that he liked the scenery, the tranquility of it all, he was more interested in watching the first signs of waking life in camp, proving to everyone that he could wake up just as early as the warriors preparing for their duties at dawn.
It was rare for any of the other kits to be awake at this early hour, which made him all the more curious of the newcomer. Though she was smiling slightly back at the den she'd just come from, there was a hint of hesitation he could sense in her, like she was keeping herself from fully enjoying herself. "Morning," he said, padding up to her. "Did you come to watch the warriors too?"
Dewkit hadn't expected any other cat to be awake at this hour, and hints of surprise played on her face at Otterkit's emergence. She'd hoped this dawn to be the last claim of solitude her new clan permitted her before the bustle of the day brought probing questions about her past, but this kitten seemed to have other ideas. Alas, she put on a friendly face, the visage of the approaching tom playing in the back of her mind as she tried to attach it to a name. No luck. Still, she had taken quick note of him the night before. He'd stood out from his littermates, appearing more vigilant and earnest than the others. She'd surely been around more unpleasant company. She surveyed the camp curiously at his question. "Warriors? Oh, no. I came to look at the...trees." She paused, reflecting on how dopey that sounded. Looking at trees??? But truth be told, these new terms still spun her head. She wasn't entirely sure what a 'warrior' was. "What should I be watching for?"
