A black and white she-cat pounced on a scrawny mouse, killing it with a sharp bite. Mayrose stepped back, looking rather disappointed with the measly morsel. But at last, Mayrose knew not to be picky during leaf-bare. The cap-and-saddle feline barried the small rodent before continuing with her hunt. Perhaps StarClan would grace her with a few more kills before having to head back.
"Nice catch!" Divepaw grinned at Mayrose as he spotted her heading back with her catch. "More than I've caught, at least, my mentor is going to kill me. Not the best look after I barely passed my apprentice assessment. Say, do you want to hand me that, so I can get the glory?"
He winked to assure her he was joking. Divepaw was far too obedient to steal from another cat!
