Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Her paws coated in thick, red blood. Her eyes emotionless as she cracked its neck backwards. The feline looked down upon the poor creature, squirming, fighting for a bit of freedom. Taint bent down and grabbed the tiny mouse by the skin on its neck.
She grumbled to herself as she looked at it for a while. There's always the possibility of it being poisoned. She thought quietly. Her jaw parted and she bent down to bite the animal. The crude, sickly taste of the mouse filled Taint's mouth, and she gagged on its flesh. She spat it out, licking her whiskers as to wipe the taste from her tongue. A creeping feeling of dread overcame her in an instant. She felt her eyes well up slightly. Why am I crying over this stupid mouse?!
That's how it had been for a few days. A mere inconvenience sent her flying off the rails. She didn't know why, but if anyone were to question it she would be quick to anger. Taint's eyes settled on the mouse. She batted it away with her paws and curled her tail around herself. With a huff, she settled herself down.

"Why would you bother biting it, when we both know know everything from here to the borders and beyond is tainted?" A bored tone drifted from up high, belonging to none other than Senescence. The heavily scarred feline sat on the bare tree branch, tail lazily drifting in the open air. As if sensing just how much the she-cat was on edge, her tone couldn't be any more disinterested in Taint's struggles, her expression devoid of all emotions.
Without another word, the huntress slipped off the branch, dropping to the ground on light paws which brought her forward until the acrid stench of the creatures foul blood reached her nose, though it only elicited the slightest twitch of her nose in response to the smell. "Are you just going to sit there, grumbling over a piece of prey all day?"
She looked up at Senescence. Her eyes narrowed, the stench from the mouse barely noticeable. She was hoping that no one would bother her, as she was prone to snapping. Although, to be honest, the way the feline caught her in the moment was slightly embarrassing. Not that she cared much, but still.
"I-I don't know," she stuttered, staring down at the bleeding mouse.
The former proxy could admit to being similar, at least in her desire to avoid interaction with others. Usually, she would've just laid in her spot and watched all day long, only revealing herself if she was already noticed. Taint's actions, however, had prompted a response. No sensible cat hunted on League territory nowadays, let alone risked poisoning themselves by ingesting a part of said prey. It was something Senescence might have done out of boredom, but not something a normal cat would try, without some grievous lapse of judgement, or a desire to get themselves killed. Which category the other feline fell into was her own business, and the scarred feline had no desire to interrogate anyone today.
"If you're really so hungry that you've decided it might be worth death to eat that mouse, why don't you come along and we'll find some more favorable prey." It was a good excuse as any to get out of the territory, away from disturbances that made both of them debate whether it was worth the death sentence to kill their own Leaguemates. Or maybe it was just her that did that.
Her eyes stared at her. She wondered whether or not this was a trap. For what exactly, she wasn't sure. Taint squinted her eyes. She rose up to her paws. "okay then," she said reluctantly.

Without another word, the huntress began heading away at an easy trot, seeming to have an idea of where they were going, though she offered no sort of explanation. Ultimately, they were heading away from the territory to who knew where, and Taint just had to trust that the she-cat wasn't about to murder her at some point. It was plausible, of course, but Senescence didn't seem to care enough about her fellow groupmate to bother, at least for the moment.
Taint squinted her eyes. She slowly moved towards the huntress. In the back of her mind, a voice joked about her killing Taint. It wasn't unusual for her to sarcastically comment on horrible things that could happen. She looked at Senescence apprehensively as she walked behind her.
It wasn't long before they found themselves beyond League territory, and Senescence went farther still. The trees blended together, confusing and endless, until at last, they opened to reveal a train station. "Ever ridden in a monster before?" Her words were dull and lifeless, though there was a hint of challenge to her words, or perhaps it was imagined, given the unfazed expression. Where they were exactly, and where they were going, who knew? But this was clearly Taint's last chance to escape, if she was inclined to do so. If she gave in to the taunting question, then she would truly be in Senescence's paws, unable to return to the League without the former proxy's aid.
Taint followed the cat with reasonable distance between them. That way, if she turned back and slashed at her she had time to think about her next moves.
They finally reached a train station and her heart sunk in her stomach. "Uh, no?" How many cats did anyway? Taint stepped back, her tail swishing low on the dirt.
