It wasn't until a chilly breeze swept through that she blinked her grey eyes once more and realized the winterclan warrior had left. Her heart couldn't help but sink at the realization and she curled up tightly. That's right, she was alone again.
She could not help but feel disappoint and sadness at the thought and remembered the way he smiled gently when he thought she wasn't looking and the warmth he provided her. He may have been a Winterclan cat, but he had a good heart, even if he wanted to hide it that much she was certain about. She would remember he had helped her without a doubt.
Ravenstone did not move for a long time but finally stood and stretched her limbs. Snowkit was waiting for her and surely the clan was worried their deputy had stayed out all night? She glanced around a little bit hopeful he might be lingering.
Had she not waited, she would have missed the sight that came next.
The gray tom has returned dragging a snow hare along with him. It was big enough for the both of them, and probably one other cat. Their bellies would be full, but it was obvious of one thing. The tom has probably caught the rabbit on SummerClan territory. Perhaps she wouldn’t be angry, or perhaps she might. Fogeye was uncertain, but he was only trying to feed them. That’s all, not in any sense of stealing. Considering they both had a decent trek back to their own camps.

[ I shouldn't be dying over this but I am xD ]
She suddenly heard the sound of a cat nearby when the winterclan warrior suddenly appeared with a snow hare in tow. She was surprised that he was still around and also at her own happiness by seeing him appear. "Out hunting so early? That is quite the catch." Her tone was light. Obviously he had caught it in Summerclan territory but it wasn't like he had run off to eat it by himself so she decided to overlook it this time. She stepped forward and nudged the rabbit towards him a bit, offering him the first bite. It may have been a Summerclan rabbit, but it was his catch.
Fogeye watched her for a moment before settling down right outside the makeshift den. The tom was currently relaxing, until he realized that she was offering up the first bite to him. He gave a slow blink, indicating thanks to her, and sank his teeth in. It was still warm, and for that he was thankful. He had a bit of a trip back up the mountain to return to his clan. He definitely needed the energy, that was for sure.

Ravenstone followed his lead and took a bite as well, grateful for the warm prey. Her stomach had been growling since last night and it was nice to have fresh kill. "I'll escort you to the border so you don't have any problems on your way." She offered, not wanting him to run into any trouble. Summerclan cats were naturally warm and friendly but finding a winterclan warrior on their hunting grounds in leaf bare of all seasons was only a recipe for disaster.
“Very well.” It was ironic, Fogeye had no idea he was spending his time with the deputy of a rival clan. Soon to be, yet unknown to the two, leader. The tom smiled, but finished the meal in silence. It might be the last time he ever saw her, as it was quite unusual for prison guards to attend gatherings. Perhaps, was the reason for him not knowing much about her.

"May Winterclan hunt in peace for your help." She purred, dipping her head. It was moments like these that her words conveyed her wisdom and how much her deputyship had forced her to age. Of course, her and Frostcloud had no intention of attacking any other clans especially not in their state at the moment, but it was always comforting for her to reassure the others. Ravenstone had vowed at the death of her own kits she would try to one day lead Summerclan through a peaceful time if she was ever named leader, although the she-cat hoped that day would be far off.
She glanced at him again and realized she would be disappointed to never see the white warrior again either. "I like to hunt near the border sometimes, there is a good warren of rabbits. Perhaps our paths will cross."
Fogeye stood, ready to depart away from the black beauty before him. As she spoke, he listened carefully. Was this... perhaps an invitation to see her again? His whiskers gave a small twitch, taking in the words and memorizing them. “Perhaps we will see one another once more.” His voice tumbled softly, his gaze lingering, and good eye taking in her features. Finally he turned away and padded off, tail twitching behind him.

She watched him go with thoughtful grey eyes. It was probably a bad idea to imply that he should find her near the border. She wasn't just a typical clan warrior either, but a deputy and the expectations of her were much higher than the others. Yet as she thought that, she was almost hypnotized by the way he talked and how soft and nice his grey fur was. She truly hoped to see him again and washed the strong and lingering winterclan scent of off her before returning to her clan, a few pieces of fresh-kill she had discovered in tow on her way.
-- I'm assuming your next post will be a time skip and she can return as either leader or still deputy c; --
Fogeye was laying with his paws tucked under his chest and his tail flicking back and fourth. It had been about a moon, but he was beginning to think he may never see each other again. He was unaware that she was now leader, and held other duties. He had been unable to stop thinking about her black fur. He was beginning to believe that she never intended to see him again. What a silly thought. That someone would enjoy him... of all cats.

The past moon had been a crazy whirlwind of trying to get summerclan in order and get everyone through a leafbare after every challenge her clan faced. As time stretched on and she only encountered more obstacles and hardship her heart ached and her thoughts drifted. Now was most certainly not the time to be thinking about the rough grey tom from that night. He was a winterclan warrior and she was the newest leader of Summerclan, she had so much to prove and so much she needed to do but he was always dancing in her thoughts when she least expected.
Ravenstar had wandered over to the winterclan border on several occasions, hoping to at least catch a glimpse, but was never successful. She hoped today would be different, but her heart sank as she approached the cold winter border and it was still except for a gentle, cold breeze that caused her to shiver and puff out her sleek black fur. Her grey eyes held longing in them and a desire to talk with someone.
He spotted her. Perhaps she might not have spotted him, mainly due to the pure fact he was attempting to stay out of sight. The sight of her dark furs made his heart leap. He knew it was her the moment she came into sight. His face lit up, and he had to struggle to compose himself before he stood and slipped from the undergrowth. “Ravenstone.” He greeted her, acting casual and as if he were on a simple hunt and hadn’t just been waiting for hours.

She blinked as she heard her warrior name, surprised to addressed as such, and her heart soared when she recognized the grey furred warrior. "Fogeye, how have you been?" She greeted him happily, doing everything in her power to hold back a purr. She couldn't seem too eager to see the tom or it might be suspicious. "It's been quite some time since we last saw each other."
“A little over a moon.” He hadn’t been allowed to go to the gathering. It was not often that he was, due to him being a prison guard. The tom gave a light smile at the feline. “How have you faired?” The idiot then realized that she had asked him first, and went to quickly answer. “I’ve been well.” He was probably sounding rather dumb. As if he couldn’t keep the conversation straight. He wondered briefly, had she thought about him as he had her? The dark furred beauty...

She chuckled as he back tracked but nodded, pleased to hear he had been well. "I've been... busy." She admitted. With receiving her nine lives and trying to pull her clan through leaf bare intact, and recently activity outside of summerclan, she was certainly feeling pressure as a new leader. "I suppose I should tell you, I am Ravenstar now. Frostcloud is no longer the leader of Summerclan." She hadn't told him she was summerclan's deputy when they first met and he was not at the last gathering.
It was clear that shock flashed across his features as he heard and registered her words. She was a leader now?! His mouth even gapped open slightly as he came to the realization of what she had just informed him. “I.. had no idea that you were a deputy prior.” He admitted, having not been a cat whom often attended gatherings, it was not shocking he was unaware of her status within her clan.

She nodded and flicked her tail as she sat down. "But, I am the same cat I was before, mind you." She told him with a small smile. Despite having new lives and her old life stripped away, she felt stronger but would ultimately always be who she was before.
"I just thought it would be better for you to know sooner rather than later." Ravenstone couldn't deny how often she thought of the grey warrior and knew it was not going to stop. Her heart reached out to him and it was almost too late to pull back now. Did he ever think about her? She couldn't help but wonder. It was hard to think of ways to spend time with him. He wasn't a member of her clan so she very well could not ask him to hunt with her, so walking and talking was about the best she could do.
She was t crazy. Nothing near it. His mind was consumed with the thought of her, and he felt guilty of it. He had always been a loyal warrior, all throughout his life there. Now here, he found himself feeling questioned, by... himself. “Ravenstar.” He said her name, as if testing the way it rolled off his tongue. “It sounds... fitting.” He responded softly, blue eyes gazing across her features, his next words catching in his throat as he lost his courage.

"I appreciate it. I wasn't sure if it would fit me as well as my predecessors." She purred. Should she say it? Should she ask? It was a difficult decision. She was both nervous and comfortable around him but this was the first time they had talked since their first meeting.
Finally, she made up her mind. It was not disloyal to Summerclan to enjoy her time with him because she would give all nine lives for her clan right then and there if need be. Her clan was her family and she was almost loyal to a fault.
"If you're not busy, do you care to walk with me? I would enjoy having your company." Her heart raced in her ears as a hiccups escaped her. Her grey eyes stretched impossibly wide and she clenched her jaws to avoid any more. She was not going back to that old habit. What kind of leader hiccuped when they became ridiculously nervous.
He gazed at the feline, unable to keep the spark from his eyes. The half-blind tom was soon shocked as she asked if he should walk with her. Well, now that she was leader, he wouldn’t have to worry about other SummerClan cats jumping his tail if they caught him on their lands, right?
Fogeye smiles slowly, and couldn’t help but suddenly smile much wider upon hearing the hiccup. That was the moment he knew why it was she did that, and decided to tease her. “Are you... nervous, Ravenstar?”
