The day was still young when the young tortiseshell warrior pushed her way through the entrance with a piece of freshkill clamped tightly in her jaw. Typically this wouldn't be unusual but the fact that Dappleheart's fur stuck out like brambles in the wasteland with dust coated her normally pristine pelt was. Grumbling to herself, Dappleheart dragged the food over to the pile before settling in a patch of sunshine and began to groom herself. By that time the blue-green eyed warrior was starting to hear signs of the clan wakening, including the squealing mewls of the kits. Even though her mouth watered with the scent of the freshkill she was determined to make herself more presentable before someone saw her.

Unfortunately for the she-cat she had been spotted before she could finish grooming. A quite dashing orange tabby had emerged from the entrance to the warrior's den, his sleek pelt shimmering in the sunlight as he made his way over to Dappleheart. There was a mischievous look in his blues eyes, as he pondered whether or not to say something about her disheveled coat, but his curiosity got the better of him "Hey" Troublemaker greeted with a warm smile that was known for melting she-cat's hearts "It looks like someone was out enjoying the romance festival today"
He paused, sitting down as his thin tail snaked around his paws "Look no judgement here, I'm glad your enjoying yourself"

Dappleheart looked up from her grooming, cheeks warming in embarrassment. For a split second she wondered if she should tell the tom the truth. "I was not enjoying the festival." She admitted lifting her chin to the air. Not only was her coat ruffled but she needed to work on her hunting skills. "I was hunting and the rabbit decided to take a more dusty path." She explained and then quickly smoothed a patch of fur.

Troublemaker chuckled, a feisty she-cat. Who would have known? "Of course, its only the best time of year" his charming smile never fading "Its a time for love and romance, flirting, and building relationships. What's not to like" he rolled his shoulders moving over to look at her pelt "I'm glad your so dedicated to bringing in new food for the clan, but you should take some time off to enjoy yourself to. I heard that there is going to be a fun game going on later today. Perhaps you would like to enter it with me?" he paused "That doesn't mean we are dating or anything" he chuckled "So don't get all upset, I'm just going for the title of Cupid and it looks like you might make a great partner, that's all"

Dappleheart stopped grooming and tilted her head thoughtfully. "That sounds like fun. It's a lot more fun than chasing a rabbit and getting my paws and fur all dusty." She admitted sheepishly as a small smile spread across her face. "Sure. I would like to join as your partner. Do you know what the game is about?"

"Something about an egg?" he shrugged his shoulder "Honestly I don't know what Bloodystar's obsession with eggs is all about, but I do know I want to win" he chuckled. The orange tom smiled, raising to his paws "What do you think it will be about? The apprentices are already having to care for eggs to get a feel for what it is like to have kits, so I have no idea what they will make us warriors do. It sounds a little crazy to me"

"I'm not sure. My guess would be that we would have to find the eggs. But I can't be sure." The she-cat admitted with a shrug. Dappleheart slowly sat up and stretched lazily. She finally finished grooming her fur and was anxious to know what the competition would be about. "It does sound crazy, but I am curious to know what we will be doing."

Troublemaker nodded, rising to his paws as well "In the mean time we could go hunting and get used to working together. Im assuming it will be some sort of team work challenge, so it wouldn't hurt" he shrugged. They didn't really know one another so it was risky picking her as a partner but his brother was busy and she seemed like a pretty decent second choice

"That sounds like a plan. The clan always needs food too. Especially since there will be more kits coming in the next few moons." Dappledheart added with a sly smile. She wasn't opposed to more kits, they were adorable. But that would mean more mouths to feed.
