Aurorasky and Oak are sent to the racetrack for a romantic evening of racing rocks.Everything is going great until they stumble upon a nest of ____________. @samiam cookie
Aurorasky circled her rock visibly confused. How on earth where they supposed to race rocks? Was she meant to ride it or was she supposed to find one to throw as far as she could? Sighing in defeat the gray and black tortie sat down with her tail resting neatly on her paws as she waited patiently for her date to arrive.
Oak bounded forward, excited that he was able to take part in this as an Initiate. What she-cat would they pair him with? Would she be pretty like him? He reached the racetrack and paused for just a quick moment to scope out his date.
Oh, she was pretty after all! The she-cat had more colors on her fur than he did. Oak picked up speed again and met her down by the rocks.
"What's up?" he chirped, green eyes taking her in now that he was up-close. "I'm Oak, by the way. I'm an Initiate. Nice to meetcha!" @samiam
"Oh hi. I'm Aurorasky." she greeted him warmly with a wave of her tail. She hadn't been born when the romance festival rolled around last year so she wasn't sure if Initiates were usually allowed to participate in the festival but she wasn't about to complain.
"I'm actually just trying to figure out how we're supposed to race these rocks" she confessed, in a nervous laughing tone.
He smiled, both because she was so friendly and because of their date. "You've never raced rocks before?" he asked jokingly, pawing at the one closest to him curiously. "This is a common past time where I come from."
"Never" she admitted, though now the confession seemed silly seeing as SunClan had a whole race track dedicated to racing rocks and yet she'd never done it before.
"Well at least one of us knows what they're doing" she purred. "So... how does this work?"
Aurorasky was so sweet. Oak picked up the rock he had been messing with in his mouth, trying to see if it was too large to carry. It wasn't. He dropped it again and offered up a suggestion.
"Well, we could have a normal race. But we have to pick up a rock, run it to the end of the track, and come back and get another. Whoever gets all of their rocks across first wins?"
