Looking For Omens(10 points) - a shallow pool of water has been created in a dip in the sandstone. It has been covered with floating rose petals, and hidden inside are stones inscribed with a image facing downwards. The rock you choose is said to be prophetic for what your character will experience during the romance festival. Create your own omen for your character's love life. Limit two per rper for points, but you can have as many characters as you want do this.
Dapplebreeze leaned against Carrottop, eyeing the water pool. She was a little bit nervous to stick her paw in there and see her fate, but she couldn't help herself. This was so exciting. With a quick nose touch to the tom beside her, she dug in the pool and pushed a stone up against the wall of the sandstone, dragging it up along the edge until she freed it from the water. Turning it over, she cocked her head to the side and looked at Carrottop with wide yellow eyes. The stone was small, so the little pawprint on it was also small. It looked like perhaps it had been done by a kit. Could that mean - but no. It could mean anything else. She wondered what Carrottop would say about it.
"It's just a pawprint. What could that mean?" racer c:
Lucien was a bit nervous as he approached the pool. He closed his eyes, fishing his paw in until he caught one. He was giddy now, dragging it out of the pool and letting it drop onto the ground. Once he saw the image though, he tilted his head and frowned slightly. He flipped it over a few times, checking both sides but nothing was there. “Blank? That can’t be good...” he mumbled.
Carrottop touched his nose to her cheek, before pulling back as she pulled out one of the stones. He looked at the stone with admiration, wondering what the tiny paw print could mean. Kits? Nah it was to soon to be thinking like that "Perhaps it means that we are going to shrink and become smaller" he joked with a smile "or perhaps it means that we will have a unexpected visitor?" cookie
An unexpected visitor? Dapplebreeze briefly thought about her brother before shaking her head. He was already here, though she hadn't technically spoken with him since he'd come back. She smiled at Carrottop, relieved that he was able to come up with ideas besides what she felt was the obvious. "That would be unique. Either one."
Pineneedle sucked in a breath and dipped his paw into the pool, before pulling it out in one swift movement. His claws were enclosed around one of the rose petals, a stone tucked within. He laid the stone out on the ground and flipped it over to see a crude drawing of a star, dotted with little red droplets. "...I'm gonna marry Bloodystar?"
Cherrypaw rolled her eyes. "More like whoever turns out to be your wife is gonna die, mousebrain," she snorted, and reached in for her own stone. "Stay away from me, wife-killer." She flipped over her own rock and squealed. "Aiiieeeee! This is totally Handsomepaw's face! Don't you think so? Don't you?!?!" she said, shoving her rock in the face of the cat closest to her.

Unseenlights chuckled, pressing up against Duskslayer "I would say let's go and pick an omen, but perhaps it would be better not to know what lies ahead" the long furred she-cat wouldn't be able to see the stone any way, but because he was the Priest Promise he was expected to participate in many of the Romance Festival events "should we just skip this one?" She let her long fur brush against his as she lifted head to whisper in his ear "I can think of other things that we could be doing" there was a little smile on her face as she pulled away to await his answer
Of course she was skeptical of the omen's legitimacy, but it wouldn't be the first time she had seen such things some true. She could still remember how the year before she had been desperate for a way to escape her life her, and she had found it in Duskslayer. Having him by her side, she had little to worry about, and things such as omens seemed rather silly. Faith
She'd been dragged along to this event after the gossip circled she'd found herself in. Now Lavenderillsuion stared at the water before her. "So...what are we supposed to be doing?" She turned to her buddy, the person who'd dragged her along and waited for the instructions, again. How many times had she been told already?

Vinatgepaw tilted her head like the answer was rather obvious "All you do is pick up a stone from the water and it gives you your fortune" the young she-cat peered into the water trying to see, but the rose petals obscured her view before dipping her paw into the water and pulling out one of the stones. On her stone was a picture of rock "Oh, pebblepaw! Sounds about right!"pao
Right, just pull out a random rock. Easy enough. But in her slightly high state she was having a hard time focusing on the water before her to see through all the petals that floated on the surface. Nearly falling into the water, somewhat hypnotized by the swirling petals and calming waters, she came out wet and with a rock between her teeth. Lavenderilluison turned towards Vintagepaw, rock still between her teeth and curious as to what to do next.
Bravepaw was unsure of this... He picked out a rock hesitantly, paw dripping as he examined it. "A sun?" The silver tabby tom murmured, staring at the intricate lines in warm colors. Somehow, this felt very important, but he had no clue whatsoever what it actually meant, like it was on the tip of his tongue. He flipped over the rock to hide the sun symbol, only to blink in surprise. This rock was marked on both sides? Gray and black lines curved into the shape of a crescent moon. "What in the Sun God's name? This has a sun on one side, and a moon on the other?" He spoke aloud, more to himself than anything in his confusion, as well as looking a bit uncomfortable.

Vintagepaw darted forward, thinking that she was going to have to drag Lavanderillusion out of the water but the warrior had managed to grab a rock even though she was now wet. The young apprentice giggled "Let me see, let me see! I wanna know what you fortune is!"
Ferventprayer wasn't brave enough to go and get her fortune, knowing her luck it would have something to with Bravepaw... The young warrior watched from a distance as Bravepaw said what was on his stone. A sun and a moon? Strange, but she was no expert in omens.
Resilientbloom saw her sister hanging back and also spotted once again, a certain large dark tabby tom hanging in the shadows keeping an eye on Ferventprayer.
Letting out a sigh, it was obvious that Ferventprayer belonged with Tenebrousrequiem, even if he acted a bit... dark and shadowy for a sunclan cat. But Ferventprayer was clearly not keen to grab an omen (and knowing her sister she'd believe her omen meant she should follow 'father's orders).
Resilientbloom tapped a paw to her chin. 'But maybe... if Tenebrousrequiem had an omen that clearly stated they went together...'
An idea was forming in her mind. Drawing back she slipped into the shadows and went up beside Tenebrousrequiem, making the tom stiffen and whip his head towards her.
"Easy, just me, Ferventprayer's sister." Resilientbloom said. "Relax, you act like you're expecting an attack at any moment. You want to get with my sister right?"
Tenebrousrequiem eyed her a moment and said nothing.
Resilientbloom sighed. "I'm not here to tattle on you two or anything, I want her happy too. And I know that's with you and not whoever father picked out."
"So what do you suggest then?" Tenebrousrequiem asked.
"Well... if you pulled an omen from the water... and it was obvious how you two are meant to be together, then she'll know that you're meant to be."
Tenebrousrequiem looked uncertain, "And what if you're wrong? What if the omen shows something else?" He asked. "There's no guarantee I'll pull something that'll plainly tell her we belong together."
"Well, you can always just... hide what it really shows and tell her it means you should be together anyways." Resilientbloom said.
Tenebrousrequiem's ears flattened the tom not liking the idea of lying to Ferventprayer about more things... but she'd be so miserable with Bravepaw...
"All right." Tenebrousrequiem said uncertainly rising to his paws and slipping out of the shadows, making his way down to the pool. He stopped at the bank and stared down into the water, looking at his reflection and trying to swallow down the fear growing in his belly.
Sure he could tell Ferventprayer the omen meant they belonged together... but he'd know what it really showed. What if it showed how they didn't belong together? How he was dooming her by being with him.
A lump formed in his throat and he found himself kind of frozen staring into the water.

Ferventprayer had been about to leave, when a certain tom caught her eye as he made his way toward the omen pool. Her paws slowing to a stop unable to contain her own curiosity about what he might pull out of the pool. She blinked, keeping her distance but there was no mistaking that she was watching
Lavenderillsuion dropped the rock at her friends paws, looking at it curiously. It wasn't a pretty one, and was kind of funnily shaped, and was half covered in moss that looked half dead. Probably not a good omen. But it was kind of cool looking. And look, a snail! It was claiming over her rock and sitting on top. Though she wasn't sure if it was there when she pulled it out or if it'd just crawled on afterwards. Either way, Lavenderillsuion was captivated by her new little friend. Leaning forward, she nosed the smelly snail and watched it move from up close. "Snail." racer

Vintagepaw blinked not wanting to disappoint her friend but it looked like she had picked out a regular rock from the water instead of one of the ones with an omen on it... But she decided to play along "A slug, that's a strange omen" she agreed "should I go and pick out an omen?" pao
"I guess.." Poor Lavenderillusion was still trying to figure out what this slug was doing. Briefly she glanced up and looked at Vintagepaw before answering. Though, she wasn't really sure how she was to pick out an omen, but oh well. Lavenderillusion glanced back at the snail before asking, "think they'll let me keep it?" racer
