Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.

I have noticed that Mate Logs have popped up in Clans/Groups. I was hoping that someone would be able to explain what this new trend is? And is it mandatory to partake in theses?

I do believe the mate logs were created to track all of the single cats in each clan. To make it easier for other rpers to see which cats are available and which are not. I am unsure if its mandatory to partake in it.
The mate log is meant as a replacement to the Find a Mate page, since a lot of people seemed to find it hard to get a mate for their cat even with the existence of the page! Honestly, I'm not sure if it's mandatory to have your cat on it or not, I only know that each clan has to have one. I'll try to figure it out for you, though! We never actually explained what they were before putting them into effect, did we? Sorry about that oop

A lot of Clans have things like SunClan's blind dates or WinterClan's arranged marriages where cats get paired off with each other (usually optional), so the mate logs are one way for leaders & deputies to organise those more easily. They're 'mandatory' in the sense that usually when joining the format on the joining thread asks you to label a cat's sexual preference, but I've put down 'undecided' for a lot of cats and it's been totally fine xD
...There's also probably another reason, but I'm not in the staff chat so I don't know LMAO

CreativeFyre Okay, I believe I found the information! It is in fact mandatory, but you can always list your cat as undecided and not looking for a mate.

Thank you everyone for the response and help ❤
@lavellan - that's a relief, at least. I don't want the added pressure of someone messaging me asking for a relationship with one of my characters. I don't have the greatest track record of responding to messages and keeping up with plots. I don't want to disappoint someone looking for a mate. If I know a characters sexuality, can I still list them as not looking?
