QUOTH THE SUN GOD.... NEVERMORE (SHALL YOU BE HAPPY)
the debut hit single by Sagepaw (paraphrased from Edgar Allen Poe, ghostwriting credit to
meow)
Once upon a sunhigh fiery, while I wandered, emo and weary,
Over many a dead and boney bone in the boneyard -
While I padded, nearly weeping, suddenly there came a shrieking,
As of somecat loudly screaming, screaming at the entrance to my den of sadness
"'Tis some clanmate," I cried, "shrieking at the entrance to my den of sadness,"
"To believe anything else would be madness!"
Back into my sadness turning, the sun upon me burning,
Soon again I heard a shrieking somewhat louder than before
"Surely," said I, "surely that is somecat at my den of sadness,
Let me see, then, who it is, and this emo mystery explore -
Let my b l e e d i n g heart be still (from the PAIN) and this emo mystery explore -
'Tis a clanmate among the boney bones and nothing more!"
Among the boney bones i cast my gaze, whereupon to my amaze...
...ment, out there stepped the sunny Sun God of our lore
Not the least effort to greet me, or to soothe my misery,
But, burning brightly, approached the entrance to my den of sadness,
Stared at me from the entrance to my den of sadness,
Stared and glowed like a beacon of radness
Then this glowing form approaching on my sadness was encroaching,
By the bright and glowing light upon the boney bones it bore,
"Though thy glory burns my eyes," I said, "Can it burn away my pain?
Oh glorious godly and not-dead-even-though-you-died Sun God emerging from the burning sky -
Tell me whether I will ever recover from this burning pain inside of me!"
Quoth the Sun God,
NEVERMORE SHALL YOU BE HAPPY
