Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Shadowpaw paced back and forth in the apprentices den. She felt like she was going to explode if she didn’t find a way to release her energy. It had been days since she’d been picked to go on a patrol or go out hunting, she’d been stuck in camp picking ticks off of elders and changing moss. She knew that she still had some time before the dawn patrol would leave, so she made up her mind to go hunting on her own. The black and white she-cat made sure the other apprentices in her den were asleep before she slipped out and quietly made her way toward the exit of camp, her paws itching for the feeling of cool grass under them. She could practically taste the prey already.
"Going somewhere, Shadowpaw?" came a quiet voice from the camp exit. Coralpaw stood off to the side, one eyebrow cocked--she was a night owl, and usually took a few hours to herself under the cover of darkness, where no one would come. Except for tonight, apparently. "Not a lot of apprentices heading out at this time of the morning."
The sudden voice made her jump but she steadied herself, forcing her hackles to lie flat. “I’ve been in camp for days and it’s driving me crazy, I need to go out for a hunt...” she paused for a moment, considering her options. “Well, do you want to come or are you going to rat me out?” She asked, deciding to get straight to the point. She hadn’t interacted much with Coralpaw, but she wouldn’t mind the company.
Coralpaw shrugged. "I'm no snitch," she said. At first she considered just turning down Shadowpaw's offer and continuing on sulking in the dark, but after Raggedpaw's awkward love declaration the other day, Coralpaw had resolved to try and be a bit nicer to the rest of her Clanmates. She didn't know how long it would work out, but it was a start. "Sure, I'll come along. All the best hunting trips are the ones that're morally dubious, anyway."
Shadowpaw grinned, nodding. “C’mon.” She led the way, her ears pricked for sounds of prey as she tasted the morning air. “Where should we head? I was thinking toward the lake to catch some fish.” She suggested, though was willing to compromise if her clan mate had another idea.
