Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Dappledapple had developed quite a distaste for the snow. It had a nasty habit of making her constantly damp, and was frequently trampled into an ugly mix of mud and slush around camp by the time she emerged from her dry den. Most egregiously, though, the stark white lighting that it produced did not agree with her coloring. She had taken to taking a moment out of her morning to reaffirm the image in her mind of herself as she should be, lounging in the golden summer sunshine that brought out every detail of her pelt in its full glory, to give her the strength to get through these unfortunate times. That was where she sat now, a few paces from the warriors den, eyes closed and her mind in a happier place.

"Trying to warm up?" The charcoal bengal greeted, his voice unusually chipper this early in the day, as if he was energized by a lightning bolt upon waking. Daydreamer was more often than not in a dazed state, most couldnt get him to do anything, let alone get out of bed, so being up and out of the warriors den before mid day was new for him. He sat down neatly next to the she-cat, his tail curling over his itching paws, his toes shuffling against the soft ground beneath him.
How fitting that Daydreamer would be the one to interrupt her daydream. With a small sigh, Dappledapple peeled her eyes open, the soft image of summertime she held in her mind's eyes dissolving once again into the cold gray air of winter. "Just thinking of warmer times," she said, wrapping her own tail around her legs as the chill cut through her pelt with renewed vigor. "I'm a SummerClan cat, I wasn't made for winter," she grumbled, momentarily giving up the warmth of her tail to flick away a clump of snow that had stuck to it, not seeming to notice that she flicked it right at Daydreamer.

The tom frowned, but only momentarily as the snow that landed on the nape of his neck quickly melted from the warmth of his pelt, fresh from him waking up only minutes before. He allowed his smile to return, tilting his head up to look at the sky, faded blue-grey as was the usual for this time of year. "Well, it's due to return, it's just around the corner after all," he mused, returning his amber gaze to Dappledapple. "Soon enough warm thoughts can turn into warm memories. Just around the corner," the odd cat repeated with a flick of his ears.
"I suppose so," Dappledapple agreed, half-reluctantly. The gloom of winter had a hold on her, and a part of her wanted to stay holed up in the comfort of resentment - but Daydreamer's promise of sunnier days to come sooner rather than later was more enticing. After all, that had been the point of her little imagination exercise in the first place. Which, she remembered with a small flash of annoyance, he had cut short moments earlier. "Although I think I might freeze if it gets any colder."

"Well theres better ways to warm up than sitting here looking sour," he chuffed, a humourous tint to his words. A cheeky smile grew on his muzzle as he stood, arching his back in a good stretched before reaching out with his forelegs to slink along, making sure his muscles were limber. "Care to go for a run? Or maybe catch breakfast? The sunning rocks might have warmed already too if you really wanted a summer time experience."
She looked sour? Oh StarClan, winter must really be getting to her. "W-well, I could use some breakfast," she said, trying to squash the horror in her voice under a resolve that the thrill of the hunt and a full belly would bring that much-needed glow back to her cheeks - did she really look sour? She wished there was a conveniently reflective pond around to check if Daydreamer's horrifying statement were true. "And we may as well swing past the sunning-rocks on the way," she said, feeling the cold air rush back around her forelegs as she released them from the warmth of her tail to stand. It seemed too good to be true, but if they were warm after all it would be nice to feel a little of that summer warmth right now. There was no way she could look sour after that.

"Its decided then, you don't seem to be the one to be keen to dip your tail in some cold water for fishing, so maybe some birds? I know where they gather for their grubs, I can lead the way," he offered, heading in the direction of the camp exit with a flick of his tail, the tip hitting her nose ever so lightly, "We don't have to run either if you didn't want to. They'll be there for a bit, always are."
Dappledapple shuddered at the thought of how cold the water in the streams would be running. She didn't mind fishing in the summertime, but at these temperatures? The sun would rise in the Dark Forest before she willingly stuck her paws in there. "Birds would be good," she agreed, giving Daydreamer's tail a light nip as it flicked against her face. "A run might warm me up, actually."
