Romantic spaghetti and meatball dinner, with sunflower candles and being serenaded by the soft sound of crickets in the distance. A red checkered cloth covering a wooden crate. A red rose display proudly beside the plate that had been obtained from the twolegs, the delicious mouth watering scent wafting through the air. Sounds just like the movies, right? Except cats can’t have onions... and as the new couple start to enjoy their meal there tummies will start to hurt from onion poisoning. strawberrycupid @atomheart
Bleedingheart let out a soft sigh as she stepped out of camp on her way to her blind date. It was nice to take a break from her kits as much as she loved them. Another queen had been nice enough to watch her trio for a few hours. Yet she knew she would be constantly thinking of them. But a fun date would be a nice distraction, though a little part of her wondered if this was arraigned because she was a single mother. While she had brushed off questions of paternity, that was mostly due to the fact all the kits looked like her. There had to be those who suspected the father was not of SunClan.
The brown tabby stopped at the picnic blanket, taking in the scene. It was just so perfect, a nice dinner with hopefully a nice tom. She settled down on the blanket to wait for her evening’s companion.

Cloudlagoon was honestly fine with whoever he was paired with. He was always going with the flow in whatever situation he was put into. Now that he was finally a warrior and watching his siblings get paired off, he realized he had fallen dramatically behind. But hey, that's what the romance festival was for, right?
He arrived at the picnic blanket shortly after Bleedingheart got there. Cloudlagoon approached from the back, taking in the scene before stepping on the blanket himself. "Wow this looks amazing." He sat down next to Bleedingheart, unsure if she knew who he was but very aware of who she was. "Hey Bleedingheart. I'm Cloudlagoon, case it slipped through the cracks. How are you?"
“Good, it’s nice to be by myself for once.” She smiled softly at the tom, having seen him around but not really having ever talked to him. “Oh, I mean it’s nice not having my kits attached at my side.” She hoped she hadn’t offended Cloudlagoon. Her previous relationships had not been the most traditional. The first had been in the heat of the moment and ended up only being long term for her kits, unfortunately both that tom and those kits had died. The second one had once again been a moment of passion, resulting in her current kits. Luckily they both knew it was really nothing more than heat of the moment.
“This looks really nice, I wonder how Bloodystar got all these dates set up.” She had heard from some other warriors about the dates they had gone on. While Bloodystar had his downsides, at time he seemed to really try to better the clan. Sniffing the food she inspected it, not one who normally ate twoleg food.

Cloudlagoon was initially caught off guard by her comment, but once she explained herself, he let out a laugh. "It's all good. Sounds like they're a pawful." He didn't really have a clue on how to navigate a relationship, so he did it the same way he got into any friendship; by encouraging her to talk about herself. If there was a trail, he could follow it.
Looking down at the food, he hesitantly poked it with his paw. "I wish I knew. With all the rose petals I've seen stuck on other's pelts, I fear for the rose population here." Cloud was still iffy on Bloody, the words his sister said still circling his mind. Really, he would have preferred almost anything over twoleg food, but he couldn't look a gift meal on the plate. Not when his stomach lurched at the scent. So he took a tenative bite, trying to keep himself from swallowing it too quickly. "It's... different. But like a good different?"
She leaned over the plate to nice at the pasta that reminded her of earthworms. “It’s not bad.” Bleedingheart nudged a meatball around the plate, curious as to what animal it came from. Even when she was a loner she never had a taste for twoleg food, most of it was just odd. She was a little surprised that they had candles. One would think the clan would be wary of fire after its last four major fires that burned through their territory. She loved her home but they did not seem to learn. But overall it was a nice date even if she didn’t really know Cloudlagoon at all. She knew he was the grandson of Foxbane or whatever name she was going by at the moment and he had lost his father in the fire.
“Bloodystar has definitely gone overboard on the decorations.” Shoe didn’t care to say that this was preferable to war or disaster that seemed to be courting the clan since Littlecrow left.

Even the small fires on the candles made his heart sink, the piddling aroma of smoke brought back too many memories. But Cloudlagoon was good at masking it. Good at forgetting and focusing on the people around him rather than himself. As Bleedingheart spoke, he couldn't resist reaching out and snuffing the flames out. "Yeah. It almost feels out of place." He looked down at the food briefly, wistful until he remembered where he was and straightened up. "Not that I'm not enjoying myself." Cloudlagoon corrected, practically forcing another bite of the twoleg food down his throat.
