The Romance Festival is about celebrating love and romance, and to encourage cats within the clan to bring new kits into the clan. The camp is heavily decorated in flowers and rose petals, and all warriors are given the day off to enjoy the festival. Points will be given out to roleplayers throughout the festival from February 1st - March 1st for doing various tasks related to the festival. The character with the most points will receive the title of Cupid(until next year), and be allowed to wear a special paint symbol of two swans with intertwining necks on their pelt, and only Cupid will be the only cat allowed to wear it. Here are some of the ways that you can earn points.

How To Earn Cupid Points:
-->For every contribution you make to SunClan between January 30th 2021 and March 1st you will receive 1 point regardless of if it is related to the romance festival or not.

SC Staff Created Threads-> 
These are threads/events created by the SUnClan Staff that your characters can participate in to earn bonus points towards the title of Cupid. Staff will automatically keep track of your points on these threads as they progress.

• Blind Dates(30 or 50 points) On this thread sign your single cats for a blind date  Bloodystar will pair them up with another single cat and a SC staff member will create a date thread for the two of them. This is perfect for those that are having trouble finding a mate, or if you just want to add a little spice to their life. If your character goes on a blind date you will receive 30 points. If the two characters set up on the blind date end up officially dating throughout the romance festival you will receive 50 points.
• Couples Retreat(25 points) - wanting to give current SunClan couples time to relax and time to focus on starting a family, Bloodystar invites all the mated couples on a Couples Retreat to SummerClan's beaches. Only this retreat isn't going to be as relaxing as Bloodystar first thought.
• Singles Mingle(20 points) s the sun begins to rise, single toms will enter into the maze of tunnels near the Janus camp while the single females enter into the tunnels near SunClan's main camp. It is said that if you come across another single cat in the tunnels that you are fated to be together. Who meets with whom will be decided by a random number generator. Single cats that participate in the singles mingle will get 20 points
• Spreading The Love(30 points) Bloodystar hosts an evening dinner event followed by a special gift giving ritual. Giving a gift is still worth 20 points (see “Giving Giving” section) at this event, however, it gives a date & time to do it as a community. What the cats don’t know is that Bloodystar is going to turn it into a White Elephant gift giving circle where intimate gifts intended for a specific cat gets shuffled and given to someone else, all for the sake of “Spreading the love.”
  
• Mate Choosing Ceremony(30 points or 50 points) - At sunset the cats interested in becoming official mates and engaged, gather at the ceremony springs. When the High Pries gives the command, she-cats who wish to participate will be released to make their run back to camp. They will get a five minute head start on the toms. Toms will then be allowed to chase after the she-cat(or tom) they desire. If you wish for a character to be your character's mate, first you must capture and pin them. If they accept you, then they  will place her nose against yours. If the other cat doesn't accept you as their mate, you must release them immediately so that they can continue their run. This is supposed to be a way for cats to show and impress the cat they want to be with. For participating you get 30 points, and for couples that accept their new mate will get 50 points. 
• Tying the knot ceremony(75 points) If your cat completes the tying the knot ceremony during the romance festival, then they will receive 75 points. For more info about the ceremony check out our rituals on the SC page. You can have this ceremony created for you at any point by messaging racer or Jadie, and there will be an opportunity at the end of the romance festival for multiple couples to all get married at once.

These are threads that you can create or other ways to earn points. To earn points for the things in this category you must post reply below in this format before March 1st. You can only earn points for things that happen between January 30 and March 1st. To get points for these threads, please respond to this thread with links to the appropriate thread.

• Gift Giving(20 or 30 points) Be sure to find the perfect gift for that perfect special someone in your character's life. Each character will be able to give their significant other/crush a special gift for a total of 20 points. If your gift is very thoughtful/creative you may even be able to earn up to 10 bonus points by SC staff
• New Couples(15 points) - New couples that get together during the romance festival will receive an extra 15 points, so get out there and find yourself a mate/fling. These points will not be given out to couples that are already together, as the goal is to get more litters/families in SunClan.
• Date Threads(10 points)- I encourage everyone to create a date thread for their existing couples. You will receive two points for every reply you make to your date thread that is more than five sentences. You may only make one thread per couple/fling and you must have the other person respond between each of your replies. You will need to work with your mate/fling in order to get the most points. Threads started before January 30th  will not count
  
• Pregnancy/Kittings (30 points) If your character becomes pregnant during the Romance Festival than you will receive 30 points when they tell their mate/fling the exciting news. Any Kitting threads made during the romance festival will also get you 10 points for every kit that is successfully adopted and added to the SunClan joining thread. You will also receive the same amount of points if your couple decides to adopt a litter of kits and bring them to SunClan(one litter limit per character) 
• Adoptable Characters (10 points) - for every SunClan adoptable that you create, that are adopted and added to the SunClan joining thread by another roleplayer you will receive 10 points. Adoptable that you create and adopt yourself do not count. if the adoptables are not related to the mega tree(or other big families) you will get and extra 5 points per adoptable. 
• Bringing in New Initiates(40 points) - Don't have a mate within SunClan? Don't worry. if you are able to convince your mate/fling to join SunClan and undertake initiation before the end of February, then you will receive 40 points. Any new initiates added and promoted during this month will also get these bonus points. Initiates that are already in the clan the attempt initiation will get 20 points.
• Mommy/Daddy and ME Dates(20 points) - Family is very important to SunClan, so one tradition that helps bring the families of SunClan closer together is mommy and me and daddy an me dates. Each parent takes their kit out on a special 'date'. This could be a hunting trip, a camping trip, or even as simple as just eating a meal together. This bonding time is considered very important between parent and child, and used to catch up on current events going on in each other's lives. For each of these your character goes on you will receive 20 points.
  
• A romantic dinner(15 points) - while parents are out enjoying the festivities, kits are in charge of creating a "romantic dinner" for their parents. Yes this should probably go just as badly as it sounds.

Prizes ->
Cupid:
The top point earner for warrior gets the title of Cupid. They get a special paint symbol to wear, bragging rights for a year, and all expenses paid vacation to SummerClan. Custom artwork of their character from Jadie, and a custom layout from racer (clan/character/or profile)

Eros:
The top apprentice point earner gets the title of Eros. The get no chores for a moon, a special training session(a surprise), and first pick of the fresh kill pile. Custom artwork from Jadie of this character.

Other awards:
There is also going to be like a year book type thing with different categories that you all are going to vote on for the winner. The winners of these will get extra 50 points towards the titles. We will take nominations for these the last week of the romance festival and you all will have one day to vote for the winner on 2/28.
