They were odd. "Quirky," one would say. A real delight to be around the the most befuddling way. The Needletoes were not old yet not new to living among the Regime. They were a family that somehow mastered slipping through the cracks for most of their time there. How that could be possible, I do not know. But from here on out, this is the story of the Needletoes: Sylvester and Hedwig, mother and father respectively of, Isolda, Pip, and Nottingham, and the little babes, Burgess and Lockslie. This family was known for their wits, masquerade of class, and the occasional "sticky toes." Not all were bad. Truly, Pip was probably the most pure and the one Nottingham appreciated the most.
That was, perhaps, why she went searching for him on this blustery blizzard-y day to have a chat over mice and tea (well, water with old dead leaves in it). Much to her dismay, the whole family beat her to him. She turned quickly on her heels to slip away before they noticed...

Pip Needletoes was indeed the normal one of the family. He was hardworking, dedicated, and painfully modest. The oddest thing he did was disappear every now and then for a few days. Still no one bothered to say anything to him, Pip was after all more often than not the spokesman for the Needletoes, the one the rest of the regime went to to deal with the family. It wasn’t that the rest of his family was awful, they were all just eccentric to the point of absurdity. Yet Pip wouldn’t trade his family for anything.
“Nottingham! Come join us.” He called out, peering around his family to his rather slippery sister. She seemed to be scarcely found even amongst the family themselves. Or at least that’s how he felt, but then again he spent most of his time with the hoards of kits. Nottingham was not one to be overly social and kits were prone to asking droves of questions.

"I don't want it." Lockslie Needletoes whined for what felt like the fiftieth time. She pushed the makeshift tea away from her, the liquid nearly spilling as her face scrunched up in disgust. It was so bitter, she'd rather starve than drink another sip. And of course, she'd only drank a little before declaring it disgusting.
Her head whipped around as Pip called out to Nottingham. "Yeah, why does Nottingham get to leave but I can't!" She said with a pout, plenty loud enough for the eventual superior to hear.

Nottingham winced as she was noticed by her sister. Oh boy, that meant she got to stay and chat about the latest and greatest gossip with her oddball family. "Oh, well I-er, I had plans... To uh meet somebody and stuff." She responded nervously, avoiding her sister's large babydoll eyes. She knew the minute she looked in those big blues that she wouldn't get away with her lie. There was a high possibility she wouldn't anyways...

"Yeah right." Really, Lockslie would have used any opportunity to step away from the group. It was unlucky for Nottingham it happened to be her this time. The little kit bounded up to her big sister, those bright babydoll eyes seeking to meet her's. "You can't skip family time. It's not like it's a secret where we meet. If your mystery boy or girl comes and seeks you out, then you can go. and maybe I can go with you..."

Pip lapped out his tea delicately, he had made his own with herbs instead of just random leaves like some of his other family members. He offered to make tea for everyone, but apparently, some of them preferred the random leaf water. Pip could only do so much to steer his family in the right direction. "Oh meeting someone? Anyone special that you will be introducing us to?" He stood up and stretched. The black and white tom clearly was poking at his sister. But what else were siblings for if not to annoy at times?
