The two of them had promised to make time for each other and Ravendagger truly had intended to keep that promise. But life happened, patrols kept them busy and hunting and their own friends and mates and lives. Before he realized it moons had passed without any special or meaningful interaction with his twin. They were clanmates so obviously they'd seen each other and conversed. But Ravendagger and Greyhunt were closer than that and the general polite nicety's felt wrong to him.
This morning it seemed the work load was light and Ravendagger noticed his sister still in camp too. Seizing the opportunity the warrior waved his tail at her, making the short dash across the camp to cock his head at her and ask, "busy today? We could go for a hunt."
Now that leaf-fall was over, that meant that the number of feasts held in the clan dramatically fell. Food was still important, and harder to find in these freezing temperatures, but at least Greyhunt didn't have to spend most of her day hunting to supply the prey for those feasts anymore. While she did enjoy it, it left so little time for herself, and even less for her friends. Poor Whitestone had even been kept busy, meaning she was rarely able to even see her mate. It felt like a very long time since she had even talked to Ravendagger, her own twin.
When she finally seemed to have a nearly empty schedule, she had almost wanted to spend it lazily and just lounge in camp. So, when Ravendagger approached her, it came as a shock. "It's like you don't even know me anymore," she replied, giving her brother a grin as she stood up and stretched. "The question should be where do we want to hunt." Even just this small interaction felt like a breath of fresh air to Greyhunt, as if she had been missing a piece of her throughout these past moons without her twin.
