The last of the stars were fading out from the blackened night sky, giving into the ashen blue hues of dawn. The land was still dark when Glowstar set her paws back into DayClan's camp followed by Funk E'tan and Vixenkismet. The last her clan had seen of her she had been seen caught by SunClan before the fire had engulfed her. It was why Goldenstar was in charge now, Glowstar was dead as far as everyone else had been made to believe. Never knowing that Bloodystar had faked her death to keep the DayClan leader for himself. The peaceful wee hours of the morning came to a rest though, as the scent of SunClan that still clung to Glowstar's fur wafted through the air. The scent of SunClan was a threat alone, easily causing anyone to wake up from their slumber to investigate.
Tigerlily had immediately left her den to investigate, but stopped short at the presence of Glowstar. She had heard from everyone that she was set ablaze in the fire, the leader only had one life, was she seeing a StarClan angel? "Glowstar, are you," She looked to Vixenkismet and Funk E'tan for confirmation before finishing her sentence, "Really here?"

Funk almost felt silly for worrying, for dying in that damn fire. Maybe it was him being realistic, or not having enough faith in Glowstar. But he was sure she was dead. And now the terrific trio were back together again, walking into Dayclan camp. It felt unreal, a good feels ending to a fairytale. So he was hesitant to answer Tigerlily's question. But after a moment, he nodded. "Shocking, I know. But it's real." He let out a sigh, laughing a little at the end.
Her heart dropped at the smell of Sunclan. There were a thousand reasons why they would come. For the refugees, for Littlestar, for revenge. It could have been anything, but it led to Goldenstar charging out of the leader's den. She was ready, even if she didn't realize it. But then she skidded to a stop, blood gone ice cold as she stared at the ghostly figure of Glowstar. She blinked, then blinked again. But Glowstar didn't fade. And Goldenstar was relieved, a weight off her shoulders she forgot she was bearing. The idea it wasn't really Glowstar didn't even cross her mind, and the appointed leader immediately dipped her head. "Glowstar... welcome back." She purred.

Snowthorn quickly left his den, expecting a fight from SunClan, but he froze as his eyes found Glowstar. This was so much worse. He yearned to turn around and fume in the privacy of his home, but his mate was standing in front of the ex-leader and it would be awful for him not to enter that spotlight too. He needed to show his support and be one of the first cats on the welcome wagon. Straightening up, he went to Tigerlily's side, tapping his tail to hers reassuringly. So many questions were running through his mind. Would Tigerlily lose her position on the Immortal Council? How would this affect Disloyaldog? How was she even here?
"Glowstar," he purred, mirroring Goldenstar's respectful gesture. "It's so good to see you alive and well!"
Brakewings lay in his best, debating if it was worth getting up. SunClan cats in camp could mean danger. Once, he would start preparing his herbs in case of injures; now that was someone else’s job, a traitorous fiend who wasn’t even in camp at the moment. As a proper warrior, he should rush out there to fight, but the ginger tom balked from that too in his bitterness.
But hearing Glowstar’s name, he rose and crept from the den, blinking at her cautiously. “Have you come to rescue us?”
At first the question seemed to imply she knew Goldenstar might be leader, but instead Glowstar tilted her head, her feather soft gaze flooding with pride, "You look so much stronger than when I last saw you," She purred touching the side of Goldenstar's cheek before pressing her nose up against her in greeting, "It's great to see you too."
"Oh hey, Snowthorn. Whoa are you two dating?" Glowstar asked, looking between Tigerlily and Snowthorn with a look that could only be described as impressed.
She somehow knows right, someone told her and she's just messing with us, "How can you tell?" Tigerlily asked nicely with a kind purr.
"I mean you two hate people, but you're standing pretty close," Glowstar observed, closing one eye and lifting her paw up to measure the distance, "Yeah, pretty close." She said turning to Brakewings before she could see Tigerlily's face explode into a red shade.
A smile parted across her lips like sunlight filtering through clouds, "BRAKEWINGS!" Glowstar exclaimed giving the tom a soft playful noogie, "Just the cutest medicine cat in the forest! And save you? What have you guys been up to that you need saving from? I'm almost out of time, but I think my bodies pretty durable so I think I can still take anything. Oh and Brakewings, can you get me something for my paws, their feeling kind of numb still. Oh wait! Or maybe just a sharp stick to jab at it with. Y'know, as the saying goes if you can't beat it, stick it."
"GLOWSTAR!" A blur of tortoiseshell fur shot across the clearing and barreled into the DayClan leader's side, sweeping the both of them of their feet into a fluffy heat. At first Yuccablossom couldn't believe her eyes when she saw Glowstar walk into camp, but she accepted it within seconds. Crazier things had happened. She covered her grandmother's face in a barrage of licks that were so forceful they migth have even been painful, "Glowstar!" She repeated again, purring loudly, "You're alive! I'm so happy!"
Ironically, life had not been kind to Azura since she left SunClan. All of her kittens' deaths tore her apart moons ago, and she had not moved on much since then. She spent most of her days near her kits' graves, and when she returned she went to sleep as fast as she could. The she-cat was on her way home from the memorial site, and she hardly noticed the strange scents in her territory. Things just seemed different now, just as she looked. Her once fiery eyes were doused, and her fur unkept from being neglected so frequently. Upon entering the valley she noticed her mother, who was supposed to be dead, should be dead. Clearly, she was no ghost, but Azura could not pull together the excitement of seeing her again. A weak "Mom?" escaped her lips as Azura stared at Glowstar. "Hi..."

Vixenkismet kept brushing up against Glowstar, seemingly to check if she was real. Though when Glowstar mentioned needing something for her paws, the DayClan 'medicine cat' who'd replaced Brakewings tilted her head. "Actually, Brakewings was demoted. I'm medicine cat, currently." It sounded more strange, talking about it now. Honestly, she wasn't sure how DayClan had simply accepted her so easily, though she hadn't let them down, as far as she was away, anyhow.
Fia Cendrillon was right behind Goldenstar, ready to fight whatever SunClan cat got in the deputy's way. She had to blink in surprise as her mate mentioned Glowstar, and stared at her grandmother for a good long moment. Then she dug her claws into her leg, just enough for blood to prick against her claws. Nope, not a dream. "You're really back?" The ash and shadow feline seemed far more in disbelief than her mate, fur intertwining with Goldenstar's while the deputy was at a lost for words, in a rare turn of events.

She let out a shaky breath. Goldenstar didn't expect the compliment. Thinking on how much she had changed since Glowstar died, she couldn't look over at Brakewings anymore. The decisions were hard, and even though she looked stronger, she didn't feel like it. It was hard, being leader. Not that it ever looked easy, but she thought it wouldn't be as bad as it was. Returning the press of her nose against Glowstar's, she shook her head. "We had a vote after you left. On who would take over. I won. But I am more than willing to give you your position back and the lives I got from Starclan. If you want." She probably offered it too quickly, but it wouldn't feel right if she didn't.
Brakewings purred as he nosed Glowstar affectionately. “I’m just,” he glanced sideways at Goldenstar, his voice even, “glad that you’re back. I’ll go get those herbs for you.”
The ginger tom slipped away to the den before anyone could argue. Within, he searched frantically. Who had moved all of his herbs around? Was it the elderly medicine cat or the fox-hearted one? Brakewings put the thought aside for now as he started to exit the den with herbs in his mouth— then he saw the way Goldenstar avoided his gaze.
Had someone told Glowstar? Suddenly, he couldn’t bear to leave, and retreated back into the den.

We hate people? What!? Snowthorn felt his jaw beginning to clench and he quickly covered the action with a small laugh. How could she know? It wasn't like he hated everyone, just the cats that disagreed with him or the ones he thought were idiots... Incidentally, that did include most of the cats he knew, but it wasn't like he was this terrible guy! Trying to calm his rising anger, he turned to Tigerlily only to notice her flustered appearance. I wonder if she's embarrassed by me. It was a dumb thought, but he was still confused by their new relationship and what it meant to both of them. Glancing away from his mate, he realized how crowded this area was becoming and he just wanted to get some breathing room. They'd already said their piece to Glowstar anyway. Bowing once more, he dismissed himself from the group in favor of watching things commence from the sidelines.
Glowstar grinned back at Brakewings when he nuzzled her, not entirely sure what that was about. She smiled to herself watching him run off to the medicine cat den, "Ah, him and his herbs an demons, absolutely precious."
"Whoa," Glowstar laughed rubbing her nose into Yuccablossom, "Yeah, it was a crazy ride, I was trapped in SunClan. At first I thought, wow, I can't do anything chaotic here, but then, turns out, SunClan is a literal show. I was on the edge of my seat, it was riveting, I mean, big twist came when Littlestar vanished, I saw some real character development in Bloodystar after that. I guess I'll just have to ask Dusky how it ends," She said getting back up in time to see Azura, a smile playing at her lips.
"Oh yeah, and then you weren't there when I was still stuck in SunClan after the war," Glowstar commented with a teasing judging tone, but her smile faded the closer she looked at Azura, "What's wrong?" Her head turned to Vixenkismet's response before looking back at her daughter.
Glowstar looked back at Azura, her daughter had waited long enough to be able to talk to her. She didn't look the same, her eyes were no long aglow with that feisty aura she remembered her having. However, if she really was coming back as leader of DayClan it meant being there for every person. Everyone had waited long enough to talk to her too, even if she wanted to dismiss everyone to check up on Azura it would be selfish to put Azura in front of her clan. To Glowstar everyone in DayClan was family.
"Let's talk soon, Azura," Glowstar promised, touching her nose to her daughter, her head turning to Vixenkismet, "And we'll talk later on that too, maybe."
This time she turned addressing Goldenstar. Her paw waved at Goldenstar bashfully, "What, you're going to give the nine lives back that I never kept to begin with? You have nine lives because everyone here wanted you to have them. When I received my nine lives I felt fake, I felt that everyone wanted Glowstar to have nine lives, but not Green. I didn't trust in myself so I gave my lives to people who I felt would be more worthy of them than myself. From past experience I was right to doubt myself, but I know now that I'm not fake, that I'm worthy of my position. If you don't already know it now, you'll know soon enough that you're worthy of your peers trust." A grin unleashed from the corner of her lips, spreading wide with a laugh, "It's still so wild, Goldenstar, huh?" She asked, testing the name out loud, but shook her head, "I had an old rival named Goldenstar, he was the worst, hopefully you use your name better than he ever did. But I don't want to just kick you out either so how about I tell everyone what happened and then we'll talk."
Glowstar moved to head to pointed stones, but was stopped by Tigerlily.
"Hey, what did you mean by that Snowthorn and I hate people?" Tigerlily asked hesitantly, uncertain if Glowstar had saw through her mate and her.
Glowstar blinked at the question then looked back to Snowthorn, "Oh, I mean, you guys just always looked put off when someone came into your personal bubble. You hate cats getting close to either of you, I would see how you'd flinch at Leucisticcrow getting in your space," She laughed, "So when I saw you two together I figured you must have tied the knot."
"Oh... I guess I never noticed that Snowthorn and I do that," Tigerlily said numbly, hardly noticing she said it allowed.
"I always figured you didn't want to catch anyone else's germs or something, you don't have to tell me though, it's cool having you in DayClan, but try not to topple an empire while you're here," Glowstar said jokingly, or maybe not so jokingly considering she knew who Tigerlily's parents were.
Glowstar leapt up onto pointed stones, "I do have some cool, but still unfortunate news that I have to say now. Bloodystar used his amulet to keep me from leaving SunClan, but during the fire nation battle I was cursed in the flames. At night I appear as me, but when dawns light comes in I look like a different cat. I lose all my muscle when I go into the new form and I think eventually this new form might become permanent if I can't figure out how to break the curse." She said, but almost as soon as she said it the light of dawn began to rise. A bright light formed at Glowstar's chest before bursting completely in a blinding aura before dissipating, leaving Glowstar's form gone. In her place a more gingery cinnamon and white furred cat stood. Her emerald eyes were gone, in its place they were blue with a sun stone orange center bursting out like flecks of scattered starlight.
"Yeah. So, not too noticeable of a change right?" Glowstar asked, but even her voice had just the faintest alteration.
"Can hardly tell the difference mom!" Disloyaldog called up to her.
"Okay, yeah, I know it's different, I don't know what to do about it," Glowstar said honestly to her clan.
Goldenstar probably shouldn't say that only a little over half the clan wanted her to have them. In reality, maybe she and Disloyaldog should share them. Either way, it didn't feel right for her to have 7 more after the one she gave to Tigerlily and the one she got from Glowstar back when she was just an apprentice. "We'll have a lot then." Goldenstar dipped her head, leaning into Fia Cendrillon before rubbing her cheek against her mates. "That didn't last very long. But I almost my old name." When Glowstar first gave Goldenphantom her name, it felt more like a cruel joke. To make her keep her old self so close. It was when she didn't have them next to her she realized how warm they were.
Magic was a pain. He was used to the change, if you call used to having seen it once before. How were they going to break it? Would Glow even want to? The Nemesis didn't know, but he felt almost giddy looking at her up there. She was really there. But then a voice called out and Funk remembered something he needed to do. Blowing a breath out the side of his mouth, he looked over at Vixenkismet for a moment before walking through the crowd. Approaching the tall black figure of Disloyaldog, Funk came up next to him, lightly tapping his back with his tail. "You did it, son. Good job." Funk said with a laugh, like he couldn't believe the words that were coming out of his mouth, "You can come back. Though we are starving, and out of a home, so you may wanna stay for a little bit."

Fia Cendrillon leaned into Goldenphantom with a purr, nuzzling her face against the she-cat as it became more and more apparent that Glowstar was back. "We weren't leader and deputy for long, but you'll always be a golden star to me." She winked slightly at her mate with the terrible pun, grinning at the silliness of it. strawberrycupid
Vixenkismet didn't want to let Glowstar go, but she couldn't just let Glowstar not go and be a leader, so instead she trailed Funk, appraising Disloyaldog, though it was hard to tell what she was thinking as she looked up at Green, only to see the she-cat change and get momentarily distracted, almost missing what Funk said. "You're still gorgeous, no matter what form you take!" The ex-Priestess shouted, flashing an impish smirk at her recently returned fiancee. Oh, right. Her face turned back to Glow's son, and she nodded her head slightly. "Thank you, Lucistic. I should have had more faith in you." Faith
Glowstar raised her head again, "But either way, this is the reality of it now. By day I look different and my strength changes as well, but my soul and mind remain the same. For now Goldenstar and I will talk together," Glowstar said heading back down over to Goldenstar, "Want to go for a walk and by a walk I mean just circle the outer ring of camp repeatedly?" She laughed.
"You guys did all the work," Disloyaldog promised them, but smiled, "But I appreciate the gratitude, I don't think I've learned a lesson in all this, I'd still mess around again. But I'll always be honest like I was when I told you I saw Glowstar."

"I, for one, did not expect you to learn anything from it. Low standards work out more here." Funk sounded exasperated, but there was some humor in his voice. That was life in the Eerie lane. They just kept pushing and pushing, and it always kept things interesting. "Then how about next time, you don't make shady deals with an idiotic cat infatuated with your mother? I don't care how well he hits you, we can find someone else."
Goldenstar rolled her eyes at Fia's pun, working back a sigh as she nuzzled her wife. She had a hard time wrapping her head around this. Glow had two different appearances, two different bodies almost, but how? Okay, the amulet. That's what Glow said, but Golden still didn't get how the whole thing worked. She couldn't dismiss it, she just watched the Dayclan leader transform right in front of her eyes. And then approached her. At her laugh, Golden felt the stress of everything melting off. "Of course." Goldenstar answered with a chuckle.
