Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The twins didn't have much to do today. Their family already had enough prey, so, really, they were free to relax. Not that they really wanted to. Lakeveil and Blazehowl always tended to be doing something, it was rare to see them lounging about. Perhaps they hated the perception of being lazy, or maybe they were workaholics. For now, at least, they didn't have a task in mind, much to their annoyance, so, instead, they were just chatting among themselves, the she-cat's voice lilting and silvery, and the tom's deep and intimidating. Two complete opposites, but inseparable, nonetheless.
She had never seen the twins apart, but then again, the Tsar seldom looked. It wasn't that she didn't like the two; in fact, she could see how they could make quite good members of her inner circle. It was just that Kerrigan was good at keeping cats away. Very few made it anywhere close to her, which wasn't ideal in any way, but it was how it was. It had always been this way; she had always stayed further from others than she needed to, or even was perhaps good for her. She didn't appear unfriendly in most situations, she just kept a healthy distance. It was easier that way.
"Lakeveil, Blazehowl," she meowed as she padded up. "Would you mind assisting me with something?"

Lakeveil's head dipped in a respectful bow to Kerrigan as she she-cat arrived, a charming smile written across her face as mossy eyes lifted to the Tsar's before she rose once more. The she-cat, of the two, was the far more talkative, known for her intellect and skill above all. She was a cat built for BrookClan's style of living, for maneuvering delicate politics and staying on others' good sides. "Of course, Kerrigan." Her voice was a disarming purr, the sort of sound that broke down most cats' barriers, with all the right notes of polite respect and an undertone of something a touch more friendly.
Blazehowl, on the other paw, simply offered a short nod, though the simple action in itself was a great show of respect from the orange tom. He wore a practiced expression of neutrality and feigned boredom, though the air around him seemed to thrum with danger, as if his mere presence were terrifying. This was his strength. His size and silence was a worrying combination to behold, leaving cats to wonder always what his intentions were, though he was far more perceptive than he ever let on. Unlike his sister, he offered no comment, simply twitching his tail in agreement with his twin.
They were a unique pair. Kerrigan had always noted that, always seen that the two of them seemed to be opposites. One was ying, the other yang, yet they were never more than a few paces away from each other. Kerrigan had summed this up to Nivet's craftmanship. Of course, it had to be. The balance struck between the two had no other explanation. In this way, they had always been interesting to her. After all, it was one of the few goals in her life to find her own balance, to be as similar to Nivet as the once Devonei-dedicate could be. Her tail flicked.
"Perfect," she meowed after a moment, offering a similar smile as Lakeveil. She was a master politician herself, and, like Lakeveil, she thrived in the Monarchy. She couldn't think of a single place else that she would rather be, that she would even remotely fit into. She was born and raised with Monarchy values coursing through her blood, shaping her into an unlikely head. You see, in her youth, no one would have expected the flame-colored tabby to have risen beyond the role of viony, where her family had always been destined. But now, no one dared question the Tsar, at least not without knowing they would forever have to watch their back.
"Follow me," she instructed. "In preparation for the winter festival, I could use the help in finalizing the decorations."

The two moved at ease with each other, to a rhythm all their own, in such a perfect unison as could be had after seasons spent by each other's side. The task wasn't particularly glorious, but it was something to be doing, and could potentially prove beneficial. After all, it was a unique opportunity, to be in such close quarters with the Tsar.
"Is there anything that still needs to be gathered?" Lakeveil questioned briefly, glancing around as they walked. If so, it likely wasn't much, but she wanted to keep an eye out, nonetheless, if they were meant to be doing so, or if there was anything that Kerrigan could think they might need.
"We could probably use a few more winterberries and anything that could be used as decoration," the Tsar hummed as they walked. "All of the main pieces are already there, but a little more could never help. I'm no big designer, so maybe we should look in the gathering place first to check to see if there's anything you two think we need in particular?" She seemed in a good mood, which didn't seem all that rare anymore. It was a nice change from her normally cold self.

Indeed, the change was rather pleasant, if only for the reason that Lakeveil had been meaning to speak more with the Tsar and hopefully form some sort of relationship with the she-cat. This seemed like as good an opportunity as any. The she-cat and her twin inclined their heads to Kerrigan in agreement as she she-cat spoke once more. "That seems like a wonderful idea." She agreed readily. "This is the Festival of Devonei isn't it, the god of order?" Ultimately, whether the she-cat admitted it or not, BrookClan's new religion was rather new to her, as she could still remember the times in which StarClan had been what they believed in, and the time in which they'd forsaken their ancestors for no belief at all until more recently. She was receptive to it, of course, and felt as though she understood it fairly well, but she would never claim to be all knowing or something she had little experience with.
