Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It seemed to Orchiddrop that her kits were growing too fast and not fast enough. Could they really be old enough to leave the nursery now? Their eyes were bright, their questions incessant, and their legs wobbly but growing surer by the day. So it was time for them to venture out into the camp and meet the rest of the Summerclan cats. She and Crow had gathered them by the entrance to the nursery, and she counted once more to make sure they were all there. "Go on," she said finally, leaning down to lick an errant hair on Oceankit's head before moving out of the way.
As soon as her parents gave the okay, Cinderkit tumbled forth into the sunshine of the newleaf day, her gray pelt puffed out against the wind. It was nothing like the warm, cozy nursery. "The air is BITING ME," Cinderkit yowled, darting back to bury herself between Crow's black legs. "It's COLD!"
If Crow could have kept his little family tucked away in the safety of the nursery forever, he would have. However, after much convincing from Rosethorn and Ratstar, he'd finally relented with the condition of Goldenshadow being under strict lockdown. Even now his eyes surveyed the camp warily, but they moved down to where Cinderkit pressed against him to shield herself. "It is a little chilly," he conceded, "but you'll warm up soon. C'mon, sweetheart." He reached down to nose her forward a little, encouraging her back out into the open camp.
Firekit hesitated for less time than the rest of his litter, his small paws carrying him right into the smack center. "This is the whole world?" He marveled over it. It was so much bigger than the nursery!
Eveningkit found herself lingering in the den for just a moment longer than her siblings. Despite the excitement of growing her world, the strange young kit also found herself slightly fearful, especially when her sister said that the air was cold. "Do I gotta, mama? It's so toasty in here," she mewled, eying the outside of the nursery suspiciously.
A shiver ran through Oceankit's body as he felt his mother lick the top of his head. Physical contact definitely wasn't a no-go for him, but he noticed that he seemed to spend a lot more time in his head than the other kits in the nursery, getting lost in his own daydreams and losing focus on what was right in front of him. He found himself going on long tangents in his mind, ending up at point K when everyone else was still at point B.
...He was doing it now. Eveningkit had just said something about toast. What did he know about toast? Wouldn't it be weird if everyone had to eat toast in SummerClan? No, they wouldn't be able to eat toast because no one in SummerClan had any bread. Maybe someone had the word toast or bread in their names, and that was as close as the Clan would get. "What if everyone had the word bread somewhere in their names?" Oceankit asked his family for some reason. He blinked. "Wait, why are we outside?"
"Oka-a-a-y," Cinderkit said, reluctant but still wholeheartedly trusting of her father. She darted forward, tumbling int Firekit and knocking him over in the middle of his awe-struck staring. "Stop daydreaming, Oceankit!" She called, fear forgotten. "I want to play mossball- there's so much more room out here to play!"
Orchiddrop bent down to touch her nose to Eveningkit's head. "You don't have to go if you aren't ready, love. But your siblings are all outside, and there's nothing to worry about. Your father and I will be there."
"Alrightey," Oceankit said, drifting over to Cinderkit while barely giving Firekit a passing glance. "Here's some moss for the game," he said, packing it into a tight ball with his paw and tossing it over to his sister.

"I'll stay in here with you Eveningkit." Drizzlekit said as he puffed out his chest. "There are too many suspicious looking birds outside." The little tabby growled, rather squeaked, as he glared at the entrance to the nursery. "I think they're trying to spy or something. They just have that look in their beady little eyes..."
Firekit's coat fluffed out as Cinderkit collided with him, but he offered a sheepish apology at her crestfallen expression, quickly becoming more interested in the game of mossball they were setting up. "Hey, we should play teams now that we have room! Eveningkit, Drizzlekit, Crownedkit, get out here!"
"Yes, come on," Cinderkit darted back to her more reluctant siblings, nosing them out of the nursery and into the wide world. "We need more mossball players. Don't be scardey-cats." She was huffing and puffing by the time she returned to Firekit, her soft gray fur still fluffed out. "Okay, I'm on Firekit's team."

“Hey! I’m no scaredy-cat!” Drizzlekit snapped, jumping up and turning into a fluffy ball as his fur bristled around him. “But you should come back in here! Those birds might be spying for Sunclan!”
"Why stop at the birds?" Oceankit mused. If he was a SunClan, he would have the birds be decoy spies, and then make the real spies the...grass, or clouds, or something. He gazed up at the sky suspiciously. "I'm watching you, clouds."
