Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The Regime was basically falling apart, but at least there were promotions? Not that it was much of anything at all. Well, except for her making Sean the new Raiser Superior in place of Eartha, who had been unceremoniously kicked out of the Regime not long ago. They had no official Chaman, Guider or Raiser Superior, so she needed SOMETHING. And that seemed like the most sensible one to give him.
Sapphira didn't feel any different now that she was a full solider, but then again she'd always been the mature type, never much of a kid. She gave Valeray a playful nudge to the shoulder and rubbed her cheek against Luca's, "Congratulations, both of you. I'm so proud we've made it this far. I'm sure mom would be too." strawberrycupidHoneystorm
Valeray didn't look nearly so happy, and mostly glared at Sapphira's congratulations. "Nothing to be happy about." He all but snapped, turning and walking away before she could fire a quip back at him. He'd never wanted to be a Scout, but as it was, he never got the choice to be anything else. "Valeray..." Sapphira sighed as the tom stormed away, but she didn't move to follow him. She understood his dilemma. She had the same one. Xuxa had set a path for them that even after her death, they could not defy it. The difference between her and Valeray, however, was that Sapphira had made her peace with it while her brother had not, and there was nothing she could do to help him. He had to get to that point on his own, same as she had. She turned her attention back to Luca, "... I'm sure he'll cheer up in no time. Valeray never did like crowds..."
Sean used to not pay attention to gatherings until his son went on a murder spree the day he was promoted to Spy. Since then he kept a look out, like somehow he would be able to detect a psychological break in a person. This time it was Xuxa's litter being promoted, it felt a little hollow knowing that his sons had butchered two generations of their family, but at least they were grown up now. He began to clean his paw when he heard Commander Shule continue to speak. Maybe Gardenia's litter was being promoted? The Regime always took its time promoting tykes, but when he heard his own name his ears instantly flattened. There was no hesitation in feeling that he was in trouble or maybe he shouldn't have spoken up to Shule.
"Thank-you, Commander Shule," Sean said with a confident dip of his head, but internally was still uneasy about where this decision had even come from.

Shule twitched her tail slightly, allowing cats to disperse with the end of the meeting as she then made her way over to her mate, watching the unease and bewilderment in his eyes, and feeling a pang of guilt that she hadn't told him this would happen beforehand. Upon pausing in front of him, she set her paw gently on his, and did her best to give him a loving smile, though the weariness in her face shone through. "We've spent almost every moment from your leadership to mine together. I was your Sentinel, you've been mine, and we were both Sentinels for time in between then and now. I love you, and want to be able to see you with a smile, not have us be at each others' throats because we rarely get a moment apart." She explained softly. "I know this was sudden, but I truly believe you will do wonderfully in this role, and that us having the chance to be apart will make the time we spend together that much more special, since we'll be able to spend time together because we want to, not because we have to for our duties."

Luca shrugged, not really hurt by Valeray's bad temper. He had accepted this long ago, and Valeray should have too. "We'll see. He's always been the brooding type. Doesn't do you any good." Luca scratched behind one of his ears.
"No, it doesn't," Sapphira mused although she couldn't help but worry about her brother. She had always been motherly toward the rest of her siblings and even more so the troublesome ones. As she saw the rest of the Regime begin to disperse, she fought the urge to follow after him, "At least we will all always have each other."

The three were supposed to be tight knit. Their siblings had fallen off, one by one. In a perfect world, they would all be here, but instead it was only the three. Luca. Sapphira. Valeray. Luca didn't consider himself particularly close to either, but he knew a machine worked better when each piece did it's job in conjunction. "Yeah. We'd better remind him of that." Luca stood up, lining himself next to Sapphira and watching everyone leave. "Then, back to work."
