Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Wintrystar glanced to the side of her where she'd brought her challenger with her for this event. Crimsonrose had asked for a challenger of Wintrystar's choice and for winning said challenge, the she-cat wanted promoted to a full member of the clan. Fine, it fit within the criteria of the festival and thus she'd allowed it. Selecting Icedragon had seemed like a wise decision considering he was a strong tom but also a pureblood. If he was beaten in battle, it'd at least be a good one watch and make it even more clear that Crimsonrose was worthy of her place as a full member of the clan. Facing the prisoner and her guard who'd accompanied her, she asked, "what challenge have you chosen, Crimsonrose?"
Silverfury smirked at Icedragon, an agenda of his own formulating in the back of his mind. He had no intentions of allowing the other tom to win this challenge and wasn't worried about him even coming close. Silverfury's prowess in all that it meant to be a WinterClan pureblood was well known: He was strong, swift-footed and brutal.
"Might I suggest something that is done and over with quickly, like a race or a spar?" He offered, his tone dismissive.
(sorry thought I had replied but I apparently just bookmarked the thread DX)
"It shall be a fight," Crimsonrose meowed. "In the tradition of WinterClan of old, where prisoners would fight to earn their place within the clan." She said simply. She looked between Icedragon and Silverfury. "Which have you chosen to be my opponent Wintrystar?" She asked.
The thought occured of the possibility that Wintrystar might make her fight both of them, but Crimsonrose wouldn't quail at the thought. If anything such a victory would be all the more compelling, and the challenge thrilling. A fitting way to return to WinterClan!
She imagined she was quite a sight. Where the other prisoners had become extremely cowed and begged and groveled for forgiveness and small mercies. Crimsonrose had accepted the punishments but had not, ever begged.
Though her ears were a little scratched up from meticulously taking out the sap Agonywail put in them, and a few small scratches around her nose, Crimsonrose maintained a confident posture.
She had taken the punishment the Knight of the Wise had dished out, allowed him his moment to gloat before beginning the slow tedious and painful process of removing it once he'd left.
There was still a bit that made her sneeze and nose twitch, her sense of smell a bit off, but her ears were clear. And her claws sharp despite the ribs that were starting to become visible, making the scars of numerous battles more apparent with her ragged ginger coat.
(ok since we haven't heard from Hex I'm gonna toss in Pineflurry whose my cat as the challenger, he's partially deaf so that'll be an advantage for Crimsonsrose but he's also a loyal pureblood) JadieJetclaw @turtlenoir
Pienflurry stepped forward, the honor of being her challenger clear on his face. He was proud to have been choice and given the honor of fighting this prisoner. No matter the outcome of the battle, he'd be pleased to have been entrusted with the job and having the opportunity to further prove his loyalty to the Sovereign and the clan. Nimble and swift as snowflakes, the tom would be a challenge for some cats but not all. The tuxedo warrior wasn't the best in a fight, but he was close and Wintrystar had gifted hi this task and thus he would fulfil it.
Wintrystar nodded towards the tom before her. "Pineflurry will be your opponent and myself, Silverfury, and Icyhaven will be the witnesses to this challenge. Let it be known that you have chosen a battle in order to earn your place as a WinterClan warrior and loyal member of our ranks." Her voice was unwavering and annoyed at attending such an event, but she stood proud and with her head high. The Sovereign had been surprised that a prisoner would use this moment as a chance to gain their freedom and hoped none of the others would see the chance to do so as Crimsonrose had. The sole benefit would be if Crimsonrose was victorious they'd have another full blood she-cat in their clan to birth more pureblood WinterClan kits.
Crimsonrose sized up Pineflurry, and gave the tom a nod. "Pineflurry, may our duel be great." She said, the fire in her veins starting to pump. Even though this fight was far from the honorable challenges of old, Crimsonrose could feel the thrill of the coming fight stirring.
The ginger she cat slipped into a crouch, expression slipping into seriousness. The time for talk had ended, let their skill in battle speak for itself. Her tail flicked behind her, ear swiveling towards Wintrystar waiting for the sovereign to declare the fight to begin.
JetclawJadie @turtlenoir so I suck at fighting scenes so this'll be good practice!
Pineflurry also slid into a fighting crouch, his form lower to the ground than hers and his paws evenly spaced to hold his balance. Eyes narrowed, he listened for Wintrystar to give the go ahead and when she did, he made sure his first move was to dodge as clearly Crimsonrose's would be to attack.
Crimsonrose advanced forward, keeping her movements even and measured. She could see the tension in his legs. Ready to spring away. Or spring into her.
Well. If he wasn't going to make the first move.
The ginger she cat moved forward keeping low and maintaining an even center of gravity. She stopped right in front of him skidding to a halt and letting him react, before she lashed out with a sheathed paw to smack him on the side of the head. A blow designed to stun and knock him off balance, as well as to test his defenses and reactions.
JetclawJadie sorry never been great at fighting scenes so this is good practice but will probably not be great so sorry in advance!
Pineflurry jumped backward, barely missing her paw as it reached out to smack him. Still, it knocked him off balance due to how far back he needed to lean, luckily, the tom is fairly agile and merely rolled with the fall before popping back up on his paws to begin his own attack. Tuxedo fur darted to one side before skidding around to hit her with the opposite paw, a deflective move, one that would hopefully make it appear that he was trying to attack her with his right paw instead of his left. His strike was aimed at her paws in order to sweep her off her feet and then, if successful, he'd plant himself along her back in hopes of getting her pinned.
