Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Zalaph-chan had sequestered herself in a faraway corner of camp, watching camp intensely, her sage green eyes flicking back and forth as new cats caught her gaze. Now, one might mistake this as being observant. It was easy to do, given her intense focused. A cat who themselves was skilled in watching others would say she seemed almost worried, watching the cats around her so as to avoid those whose attention she might catch. Truly, the gray-black feline wanted to be left alone, and usually, she was. But that wasn't always possible, and as such, she was vigilant so that she may hopefully slip away before anyone realized she'd moved at all. Along with her lack of observational skills, however, she also, currently, lacked any proper stealthiness, making it hard to disappear without notice.
"Hello, Zalaph-chan" Innocentia greeted, she really could look like a kitten, for sure bigger and perhaps if her was a little shorter cats could tell by her muscles she wasn't one to mess around with, "Wanna play hide and seek?" Her fangs glittered in the stray beams of sunlight.

"Sure!" The lie slipped from her tongue instantly, and her terrified bounce at the other's presence was masked with an excited expression. Zalaph had heard about her, it wasn't that hard to hear about the crazy cannibal who looked like a kittypet. As such, her mind decided that, to best stay alive, she should probably play along. Who knew what Innocentia might do if she refused? For that matter, who knew what she was getting herself into by agreeing, but it was too late to back out now... If she was to die here, she'd already dug her grave, as it were, and there was little she could do to stop it. It seemed like a much worse idea to reconsider and state that she had no desire to play now, mere seconds after contradicting reply.
Innocentia's yellow eyes brightened like starlight, "Yes! Let's go into the thicker patch of woods, there's plenty of fun hiding places there, I mean, snakes too, but" She shrugged.
At one point snakes freaked her out, they could easily eat her more than any other league cat, but after going hunting a few times with other cats she had felt a certain amount of confidence in the signs of when a snake was approaching and how to tell if a snake was nearby.

She'd made a mistake. Snakes. She was going to die. Terror seized her heart, but even so, Zalaph wore an instinctive smile to mask her fear, bouncing lightly on her toes as she waited for Innocentia to lead the way. "Sounds like fun!" The olive eyed kitten cheered, dancing around the huntress in faux excitement. It was almost as if her body wasn't her own, so against the idea of showing her fear, that it would do anything, even commit to a deadly game, just to prevent anyone from realizing her inner thoughts. A survival mechanism, perhaps, though it seemed a bit faulty if it was willing to lead her into a land of snakes...
Innocentia ventured further into the woods, but paused, "Alright, let's play hide and seek, go on and find a hiding place. And remember, we're league cats, I don't want any kitten soft hiding behind a pebble. Hide well."
Her tail motioned for Zalaph-chan to leave. A V shaped smile coiled across her lips revealing snake like fangs, but she faced away from the youngling and began to count, "one."
She didn't have to worry about that. The second the word left the huntress maw, Zalaph was off like a rocket. She didn't know where she was going, but she ran, taking random twists and turns until she could no longer hear the sound of Innocentia's voice.
... Now what? Oh, right, hiding. Zalaph's gaze drifted around the area, concern flickering across her expression. Where to hide? Wait, she should probably hide her scent first. Right? Right. Looking around for a few moments longer than she would've liked, the she-cat found a suitable patch of dirt, and she rolled in it, coating her fur in a fine layer of dust. The youngling wasn't sure exactly how much it would help, but hopefully a little bit?
Onto the next thing. A hiding place. Trotting around, her gaze drifted to a few places. She could climb and hide, but the clawmarks would give her away, wouldn't they? There was a hollow in a tree, but it wasn't very covered... There was also a den, perhaps one of an old fox or badger. Something about it called to her, and she went for it, glancing back to make sure she hadn't left prints behind that might get in her way.
Further into the entrance of the tunnel was cold and muddy. So muddy it almost seemed to tug Zalaph down as she walked. The mud seemed to stretch as far as the eye could see, but it was quite dark. Luckily the mud would also coat over any scent markings. Suddenly Zalaph could feel something brush up against her paws from beneath the mud. It felt softer than a stick and seemed to move like a snack, brushing past her just slightly.

The youngling's voice caught in her throat, breaking off the start of the scream that threatened to reveal her. If Innocentia could see her now, she'd see the she-kit's eyes wide with terror. Luckily, it seemed that the huntress hadn't found her... yet. Not that it was particularly lucky, as now she was entirely lost. Without her own scent to guide her, and now being too deep into the tunnel to distinguish one shade of darkness from the other, she found herself completely and utterly stuck. Not physically, though she was growing tired from moving through the think, semi-liquid earth. At this point though, there was nothing to do but keep moving forward. At least, she thought it was forward. She could have been going back to the entrance for all she knew by now.
Suddenly she felt another stroke against the back of her legs, this time it wasn't like a snake, it was something reaching out. The mud had eyes, blue ghastly looking eyes that opened up wide and stared at her. There was a time buried in the mud, sunken with his muzzle just barely outward. He was old and too weak to move, "Run away," He whispered in a raspy voice.

Her mouth opened wide, and words spilled out before she could stop them, in direct contrary to the scream building up inside her. "Why should I?" It should have been fairly obvious, given that the tom was obviously trapped here, in the mud. She would end up the same if she continued in the way she had, wouldn't she? Whatever was beyond was likely not worth the risk of death in obtaining it. But all the same, she asked. Zalaph had the time, didn't she? Innocentia would find her eventually... probably. What harm was there in listening to an old tom for a moment before choosing to turn back or keep going?
"There are so many more bodies up ahead, I moved with all my strength to not die among them. I just didn't want to be another pile of bones. There's a monster that comes here. She kills them and cleans them off. I saw her pull out the flesh in their stomach as if they were squirrels to eat. I don't want to be eaten, so I'm trying to sink down and die that way. My black fur seems to blend well enough. But you're young, hop across me and get out to the rougher edges of the rock."

Eaten? Something about his comments triggered something in the back of Zalaph's mind, thought she couldn't pinpoint it exactly. "What does she look like?" Either the description would help her with remembering, or at least give her an appearance to be wary of. Still, his description brought to mind something just out of her reach, as though she'd already been told this, yet she couldn't manage to grasp it on her own.
She glanced back, almost relieved to see that Innocentia hadn't found her yet. The huntress hadn't exactly explained what would happen when she was found, and the youngling could only hope that this was a normal game of hide and seek, and not some twisted version that would end up with the she-kit maimed or dead.
"Zalaph," Innocentia's voice rang out in a sing song tone, "Where are you?"
She didn't sound close. As if she was just passing by her hiding spot. She didn't know.
The toms ears flattened, "That's her. I'd never forget a voice like that," He whispered lowly, sinking in further as if he just wanted to hurry up and die rather than await whatever fate Innocentia had in store for him..
That's her. Zalaph recognized the voice and froze, mouth shutting tight so as to not alert her. She half wanted to shove the tom's face into the mud herself to quiet him, but truly, she wondered if that might make more noise. She'd heard rumors of Innocentia's cannibalism, but the tom's words only confirmed it for her. Of course, there was little comfort to be had in knowing that the League cat she was playing with ate others of her own kind. On one paw, it was one less threat to deal with, and on the other, who knew what Innocentia would do when Zalaph was found? Would she decide to kill the youngling for finding the place where her victims lay? She didn't know, and didn't want to find out, but there was nowhere to go but forward or back. And she didn't dare move until she was certain that the huntress had passed by.
There was an odd yowling sound in the distance. Pure luck. Innocentia padded away from the tunnel towards the border to investigate.
The tom lifted his head slightly, but shoved his backside further into the inky goo, his ghoulish blue gaze turning towards Zalaph-chan, but said nothing more. She knew, that was all that mattered.

With the sound that rang through the tunnels, further away than even Innocentia's voice, Zalaph allowed herself to relax ever so slightly, turning to head deeper into the tunnel. Even if her scent would be covered up, muddy pawprints were sure to alert the she-cat to her presence. That left her only the option to forge on, and hope that there wasn't a dead end up ahead. She took a deep breath, glancing at the tom one more time, before she once again began her slow trek, each pawstep painfully loud, the mud clinging disgustingly to her fur. She'd never be clean again, no matter how many times she washed her fur after this. But she supposed that she had to survive to feel forever dirty, now wouldn't she? Hah, she must be more optimistic than she'd thought.
The tom only nodded encouragingly towards Zalaph that she was headed in the right direction before his eyes moved entirely under the muck.
There was a tiny light at the end. If Innocentia wasn't so small she wouldn't be able to use it herself as an exit, but given she only had so much size over Zalaph-chan she likely did use the exit. For now Zalaph could use it herself to escape. It was further away from where Innocentia was last heard and likely would supply a back route to get out of.

Though it seemed right, and the tom encouraged it, Zalaph still took her time heading towards the light, allowing her eyes to adjust to the ever growing brightness as opposed to the dark tunnel. She didn't know where it led out, but it did seem to be further away from Innocentia, which could only be a good thing. Well, she hoped so anyway. Given her own luck, she might just end up running head first into a fox, or a badger, or something else equally as bad. As she walked, with no sudden appearance of ghouls or predators, though she did note the bones littering the ground, which made her heart race just a little bit, she felt emboldened. Enough so, that she picked up the pace slightly, to just a touch quicker than a normal walk.
The voice was high, but alarming as it seemed to shoot out from the light at the end of the tunnel. However it came from a kit waiting at the end, he too had a British accent like Innocentia. He had brown fur with black under fur and white running up the back of his back legs and front of his front legs. Along his cheek was a white sliver like a thin crescent moon.
