Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Alright since I can't find our other thread with Lucky and Dappledmint lets do a new one Cleaver
Dappledmint was out hunting. The day was nice, warmer than it had been, when she heard a voice calling out from behind her. It sounded like a certain tom she knew, one that she'd become close to during the apprentice exchange of so long ago.
"Dappledmint, is that you?" After the gathering, Luckywillow couldn't get her out of his mind. And he knew it was wrong, but he had to come and see her one last time. She had been his best friend, how could he give up on her so easily now?
The young warrior hesitated as he neared and bowed his head in a quiet greeting. "Um... hi. How- how are you?"
They were near the edge of the territories, the border between them, and with that the sole dividing force between the two friends. Dappledmint hadn't seen the tom since the last gathering, and it was then she realized her crush on him, but had accepted that it may never happen considering they're in two separate clans and live in two different worlds. It was nice to dream about though, a small fantasy she could never have. Or so she thought. Here he was, and for that she couldn't help but to allow a splitting grin to take over her face. Rushing towards the border, no care on if she crossed it or not, the she-cat practically purred at the mere sight of him. "Luckywillow! It's been to long!"
She was happy to see him too. Before he was even aware of his gigantic grin, Luckywilow bounded the last few steps to the border and touched noses with her, a purr rumbling in his throat. Of course she was happy to see him! They were best friends, and that didn't go away when you changed clans, right? He knew his early departure must have hurt her, but he hoped after their talk at the gathering she understood.
"SwiftClan moved really far away for a while," he admitted, "but we're back now."
Dappledmint couldn't help the return purr she gave him or the contentment she felt in his presence. She'd always been happy to see him, ever since meeting him during the exchange. But now, since they were so far apart in separate clans, it felt like forever before they saw the other again. "It's bene to long! How are you? How's your family, the clan?" The she-cat hadn't been aware that the clan had moved again, but it explained why it'd been longer than before since they last saw each other. Still, she was happy to once again be in his presence.
"My family is good," he reassured her. Luckywillow sat down on his haunches, staring just past her into the distance, his eyes lost in memory. "Jaggedpuddle has his warrior name now, and Mother is back to being a warrior. SwiftClan is SwiftClan. I haven't seen Vulcan in a long time, I don't know where he went." He had told her about the ghost before: Vulcan was a father figure to him, though not his blood father, and honestly, the tom had hardly been around during his childhood. But Vulcan had brought their family to the clan, and he'd always been grateful for that.
Dappledmint smile only increased as she to mirroring his position across from him, her eyes watching him closely as she took all she had to say in. She enjoyed their talks, and every chance they ever got to hang out together, valued them more than she should for a cat from a different clan. The warrior didn't completely understand who Vulcan was, because a ghost really? But she supported the relationship the tom had with the older...creature? Cat? She wasn't really sure what to call him. How could she not? He had been a big part of the cat before er's wife and she couldn't disregard that for anything, even her own personal misgivings about who or what Vulcan was. Dapplemint paused as she thought about her own home in SpringClan. "It's..been peaceful. Nothing as exciting as your tales for SwiftClan always are. Somedays I wonder what it's like to live ina clan that's always moving, always on the go and changing. SpringClan is nothing like that. We're so peaceful and content with life that it'd be odd for anything more than a fox fight or bad patrol to happen, at least, that's what it always feels like." Sure the clan life wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, but somedays it sure felt like it. But not SwiftClan. They'd struggled much in their short life and she wondered what that was like. For her SpringClan had always been home, and peaceful. The most action she got was when she joined the apprentice exchange program all those moons ago.
"Is it like SummerClan?" Luckywillow wondered. He was attentive, hanging onto her every word. "SummerClan was one of the most peaceful times of my life. I think I would have liked to live in a clan that settled down for more than a few moons, but it didn't happen." He shrugged. He had long ago found peace with his situation, and he was just happy to be with his family. Sometimes he longed for those old days without knowing why.
"SwiftClan is... it's a lot. It can be dangerous." Like when SunClan attacked. But he couldn't focus on that now. "Sometimes it can be really fun, and moving around we get to see so many other things. Did you know there are other clans out there, beyond the ridge?" He turned to face her direction and pointed carefully back where he had come, over the hills. "Five of them. They're friendly cats. Normal, most of them... though I think I saw a dog at their gathering, if you can believe it."
Dappledmint was the opposite of him, she was longing for a new, more exciting life. What she had in SpringClan was...boring. The she-cat has no family left, having been the only one of her elder parents litter and they had no siblings so she was all alone in SpringClan now. So hearing about his ever-changing life in SwiftClan always left her a little jealous of the life he gets to live. Dappledmint sighed, "yeah, it's a lot like that actually. Peaceful and quiet." Anyone could tell she wanted more, but she'd never say that. It was far too selfish for the she-cat to think, let alone say such a thing. But she perked up hearing about these other clans, or the travels and adventures that SwiftClan was constantly enjoying It was a wonder to her. "Really? That's crazy! I couldn't imagine there being any more clans than us or even a dog at a gathering."
(I;m thinking of having her move to SwiftClan, maybe to be his mate as her deciding factor) Cleaver
He was surprised by the tone of her voice; wasn't she happy that her clan was so peaceful? He wanted nothing more than to settle down somewhere safe and start a family. He didn't want to leave his own, though. They had seen so many new places, his mother would never want to leave, and he couldn't blame her for that. He would miss traveling if he ever left, but wasn't it worth it? Was it?
"I know! I couldn't believe my eyes," Luckywillow added, shaking his head. "They were very kind, we even ended up staying in SkyClan's camp for a while. There was this terrible blizzard, and we couldn't get out. They probably saved our lives." He paused, smiling a little shyly as he met her eyes. "When we got back to our home ditch, it was full of snow. I was so scared of what it would have been like if we had to stay there. I never would have seen you again. I'm... I'm glad I got to."

Dappledmint's eyes softened at his final words. She couldn't imagine not getting to see him again, and didn't want to. Her heart ached it the mere idea of it and she would have ben in true, deep, never ending grief if it had happened. The she-cat had no idea how she would never managed in a world without his smiling face. "I wish I could have seen it. It all sounds wonderful. It always sounds wonderful." There was longing in her voice, longing to see the world as he does but to also be with him. Was that selfish for wanting it? For willing to think about leaving one's birth clan for another? It...it wasn't a thought she had before now. Before she realized she wanted to see all of those thing buy his side, for as long as he'd have her. Before..before she realized how in love she really was at imagining him no longer in this world. "I think....I think I love you." Her words were quiet, spoke like a whisper and in disbelief that she even dared say them. They weren't lovers, at least they'd never labeled themselves that way so was it okay to say she loved him?
Luckywillow held his breath after he spoke, watching for her reaction, and he was relieved to see her soften. That was a good sign; she wasn't put off by his honesty. Maybe that meant he could say one more truth. He had been thinking about his feelings a lot lately. They had started back when they were apprentices, but seeing her again at the gathering had solidified everything for him, and he was confident that what he was feeling was real. And from the longing in her voice, maybe she felt it too.
"Dappledmint, I love you," he told her at the exact moment she spoke the same words. He was stunned into silence for only a second. Then Luckywillow started to laugh, the sudden positivity inside of his so infectious he had to share it.
Dappledmingt couldn't believe her luck, maybe...maybe this was meant to be. Them meeting how they did, finding each and how they keep meeting time and time again. It just felt...right. Like they were meant to be together. Her heart soared at the thought, of joining him on his adventures, of traveling with him to all of these new places and seeing them in person and not just hearing about them when they met up. "I love you. I want to see everything you do. To travel the lands by your side and see all of these wonderful things by your side. I can't do it anymore, being here and just hearing about your travels, hearing about what you've been through, I want to be there for you. To see it all and be by your side through it." It was a heartfelt confession, a desire that until now she didn't realize she wanted, but she does. Dappledmint wants to see the world at his side, living her life intertwined with his. She'd leave SpringClan in a heartbeat for it, and the thought of that surprised her, but at the same time, she was okay with leaving SpringClan behind. It was a strange thought, thinking about leaving the only clans he'd ever called home, but it felt right, just like her feelings for the tom before her.
"I love you too, Dappledmint," Luckywillow purred, his eyes a little misty. "I would do anything with you at my side. I've spent my life exploring far-off lands and clans, but every time I wished you were there to see it too." Traveling was a difficult life for him, but he remembered how happy he had been in SummerClan despite the stress of the situation. They had made each other happy, had removed the stress from the situation, and he had never forgotten that. Now he could have the best of everything, the family he loved and a mate at his side.
"Does this mean," he shuffled his paws, feeling a little silly for even having to ask, "you want to be my mate?"
"Of course I do!" She was beyond happy, to be able to call him her mate, and...and to travel with him to just be with him, it was a dream come true. Purring louder than ever, happy tears filling her eyes, Dappledmint stepped forward to burrow into his side. "Give me a day. A day to collect my things. I'll meet you here and then we can live in SwiftClan together. You can show me it all and we can be together." There wasn't much she needed to do, especially since she has no family left to say goodbye to and very few friends at that. No, it was mainly to get the few trinkets she'd collected and called her own over the moons and would love to keep. A simple ribbon she found just days after he disappeared when they were apprentices, and the bell she'd had since she was an apprentice out on her first patrol. Dear things she'd love to keep, but could also part with if they needed to leave now. Dappledmint was unaware when SwiftClan would be leaving next and she didn't want to miss out on it, on any of it.
"Of course. Of course, I'll be waiting here," Luckywillow promised, his face falling a little as he realized she had to leave. He understood she had a life to pick up, cats to say goodbye to, but knowing she was his now, it hurt to be parting so soon. He shook his head a little to rid himself of the gloom, focusing on the love he felt bubbling up within him. "You'll like SwiftClan! We're a little far from the camp right now, and it's a little... different from this territory, but you'll get to meet all of my friends."
"I know I will, especially since your there!" She couldn't wait and really didn't want to leave him but she needed to let them know she was leaving. "I'll be quick, less than a day really. I...I just have to tell them I'm leaving and then, well you'll think it's silly, but I...I have this ribbon and a bell. They're, well, special to me." She was blushing now, a little embarrassed to admit she had two dear items like the bell and the ribbon. Especially since many had teased her for such things in SpringClan before. She shuffled her paws, but her pur never stopped as she was feeling things too strongly to do so.
(time skip? We can do their meeting back up and then the walk to camp? maybe him explaining swiftclan lifestyle to her?)
