His charcoal pelt was warmed, he snoozed away in one of the many sunny spots in the trees amongst Summerclan territory. They werent barren, even in the slightly colder weather that leafbare brought, but there was definitely less foliage than normal, and for Daydreamer, that just meant more sunny places to relax. A soft yawn escaped him and he allowed his amber eyes to open to small slits to survey the ground below him. He was alone for now, and at peace.

Cherrysky was 'hunting' again, trying and failing to put her many worries and indignant thoughts at ease. The young warrior was concerned for her clan during these trying times, as well for the cats who'd fallen through the ice, but no one in SummerClan seemed inclined to deal with her panicky moods as she considered the outcome for Dawnmemories and Seasparkleflash. She was a dramatic sort, and having her dearest friend hurt did her no favors.
So as she blindly walked by a squirrel and a slow-moving mouse, the Cherrysky kicked at stones as she walked, stopping mere rabbit-hops away from Daydreamer with no sign of having actually scented him.

He drew his whiskers back in disdain, the sounds of rocks clicking and clacking together as they scattered from the cat below was definitely not what he could fall back asleep too, and the rustling from around her was sure to be prey she was scaring away too. Not good for him. "Youre disrupting the peace," he called, peering over his perch, "Are you lost?" he asked, tipping his head to the side. He wasnt familiar with this cat, he didnt seem to have memory of most of the cats in his clan, not that it really mattered where she came from.

She let out a single, startled chirp before looking up, green eyes staring with a mixture of surprise and anger. "Of course not! I'm a warrior of SummerClan, how could I be lost?" Cherrysky didn't even bother addressing the comment about the peace, she could do as she liked. And right now she liked the idea of sitting right here. "What are you even doing up there? Stuck?"

He rolled his eyes, looking the she-cat over, pondering how small everything looked from his height, including his new found company. "Heard of sunning?" he snapped back, not necessarily short with his tone but sarcastic to say the least. "You couldve fooled me, you look a bit lost. In thoughts perhaps? Maybe you should get stuck in a tree, might help you find yourself," he purred, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.

"Sunning in a tree?" She responded, mystified. "There are rocks for that you know." Cherrysky didn't like heights, her lack of a tail meant she was often less graceful than her clanmates, but as she stared up at her clanmate Cherrysky could think of no better idea than climbing up there with him. "You're right," the warrior allowed, standing, "maybe it will help."
Cherrysky leapt and hooked her claws into the bark, climbing up with a considerable amount of effort, and coming to rest on a branch close by to her clanmate. "I'm Cherrysky, in case you didn't remember me."

He watched her with bated breath, his eyes glued to her as she reached his level. "Daydreamer," he gave a small smile and a dip of his head, "Not good with names, but not much good at anything else to be fair," he explained, "But I am pretty alright at finding sunning spots, give it a few and you'll see, trees are an untapped treasure, especially in leaf-bare." He closed his eyes part-way, looking out over the path she had come down, "Did you lose your tail, or did you not have it to begin with?"

"Oh," she wasn't used to such a bold question and found herself oddly charmed by it. "I lost it when I was young. Got it stuck in a cat trap, or that's what I was told. I don't remember it." Cherrysky glanced around the tree curiously, "I can see why you'd like it up here, at least until greenleaf when the sun is blocked. Do you often lurk in trees?"

"I hang out up here about as often as you'd think. No one misses me around camp anyways," he replied, it was a simple answer for him, no one really did make mention of ever missing him if he skipped camp for a day here and there. "Do you normally stalk around the territory alone? Or is something on your mind bringing you here?"

Cherrysky considered a moment before deciding on the truth, feeling a sudden need to talk about her problems and sure that someone must have advice for her, "Icesplash, you know, he used to be Seasparkleflash but changed it after he fell through the ice, is still acting weird. We've been close since I was a 'paw, maybe even more than friends, but he'd been so strange and distant even though I'm always like right there. I wish I understood why."

"Oh he's the one that sulks in the medicine den," he thought aloud, having only seen the other cat around, "You all were apprentices together?" He considered, wondering in the back of his mind if he was probably also an apprentice around the same time as them, he was their age after all he just didn't remember it much, "Wonder if he misses those times, and you're just a reminder of that."

"He was already a warrior when I was an apprentice," Cherrysky admitted, "but we were still close. For awhile I wondered... nevermind. Anyway, I don't think that's it. If anything that would mean I should make him happy, because he's always been happy around me." She flattened her ears at the thought that Icesplash wouldn't be her friend anymore simply because she was a reminder. She wanted to be there for him, to support and build him back up.
