Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Marvelstar made her way to the altar of the old church, deemed The Institute that MoonClan now called home. Well… most of MoonClan that was. It pained her to do it but her first act as leader had been to mark those who had accepted Selene into their hearts and embraced their new way of life. Those who hadn’t weren’t banished but simply relocated to a secondary camp away from the rest of the clan, until they decided they were ready to ascend and join the rest of their Clan. There were however, those amongst them that didn’t really get a choice in this matter.
“Cats of The Clave.” addressing the clan this way felt strange, on her tongue and to her ears, but her voice rang out confidently as her gaze swept over the cats gathered before her, until her midnight blue gaze found exactly who she was searching for. She could pick him out of a line up of a thousand black cats on any given day. Meeting her mate’s eyes a surge of warmth spread over her nearly bringing a purr to her throat. Her heart swelled with pride at the sight of him sitting there, their kits seated with him.
Tearing her gaze away from Ryn, searching for another only to stop on the black and white form of Subaru, one of the first cats to befriend her once she and Ryn had first come to MoonClan. She honestly had no idea what she would have done, or where she would be without their support.
“Ryn, Subaru please join me at the altar.” she spoke calmly, but she was doing her best not to tremble, she had never performed any kind of ceremony before let alone one this important.

Ryn had no idea what was going on really. And by what he could see of Marvelstar's face, he wasn't sure she had much of a clue either. It was strange, having to be separated from her, simply trusting in what was happening. After all, Ryn was used to SunClan, to serving under his brother in law Bloodystar, and cats like Foxstar or Littlestar, or spending time with his family in the city and the Silhouettes.
His entire being was antithetical to MoonClan's way of being, and technically, Marvelstar's would have been too, by being his mate. He'd sided with Bloodystar in the first true move of his as leader of the Silhouettes, and now he was outright turning his back on the Sun God, though the deity had been nowhere in sight since Littlestar had murdered him with Selene's power.
The black tom simply had to trust that Marvelstar wasn't about to get him killed. He met her eyes and offered a small, trusting smile. It wasn't really a question, putting his own safety in her paws, and he stepped up without fear, internally curious as to how this would go.
The way her mate smiled at her made her realize the look on her face must of gave her away. Try as she might confidence wasn't something she'd often placed in herself, and now proved to be no exception to this fact. Except maybe just this once she should of, but how could she? She was raised SunClan, and here she was being told to trust in The Moon Goddess when The Sun God had failed her and everyone else. Even standing up on this altar, she was questioning the very deity who had breathed the life back into her only days prior. It was a wonder Selene didn't strike her down on the spot.
Flashing her mate a smile in return, she moved so that she was standing next to him, still addressing her clan. "Ryn you have proven your loyalty and your skills, and that is why I have deemed you ready to ascend, and join the rest of us as a full Shadowhunter and a full member The Clave." Finding the right words for this seemed nearly impossible, Was there even a right way to word this? She wished Selene had given her more than just runes and a basic understanding of things to go off of. What if she blew this whole thing?
"Are you ready to swear the oath and take your place among the Clave?" She asked, standing taller than she had a moment ago, the least she could do was act like she had a clue.
Ryn nodded slightly, despite not necessarily knowing what he was agreeing to. "I am." He answered simply, though his words were determined, showing not an ounce of fear or hesitation, as if he knew what was to come. The tom reacted like he and Marvelstar had rehearsed this a thousand times before, even though it was the first time for them both in this situation, allowing his pelt to brush hers gently, reassuring.
She gave a curt, not, a small smile resting on her expression as she regarded him. "Good" she stepped closer to the ebony tom and bent her head down to whisper in his ear.
"Then this is the oath you must take.
I will be Selene's Cup, offering my blood to our mission. I will be Selene's Mirror; when my enemies behold me, let them see her face in mine. I hereby promise: I will serve with the Goddess' courage. "
Stepping away from him after having given him his next move she nodded in the direction of the rest of The Clave hinting at him to address the rest of the gathered cats as she quietly prepared the next part of the ritual behind him. Honeystorm
