Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(unfortunately Frostcloud will only be having 1 kit this litter but we are planning to have another litter come later on so if you would a kit from Frostcloud and Snowbunny, keep a look out for the thread <3 )
Frostcloud laid in the nursery while heavy snow blanketed the ground. Her belly was swollen and it was near time for her to give birth. She gazed out of the nursery with her glittering blue eyes and watched the snow whip and twirl in the mountain winds as night fell upon the Winterclan camp. She feared having kits so deep into leaf-bare, the clan was straving as it is. How could she keep her energy up to feed the little bundle...or bundles that were to come. She was torn from her thoughts and worries as a sharp pain took away her breath. It was time but why now? She winced as another ripple of pain pulsed through her body. "The kits! The kits are coming!" She called out, unsure if anyone could hear her.
Howlingnight, one of Snowbunny's guards came in at an urgent pace, "I'll get Roseshade, is there anything else you need?"
"Are you okay?" Snowbunny asked, popping his head in the den, but was immediately flattened to the earth by Howlingnight, the toms paw on the other toms neck, choking him until he felt he learned his lesson. Snowbunny tried to speak to defend himself, but couldn't quite find his voice yet from having his throat choked.
"Go back to your post unless ordered otherwise," Howlingnight commanded, watching the tom move reluctantly away before turning back to Frostcloud, "If he bothers you again, let me know," He said, before rushing to find Roseshade.
"But-" she wanted to plead for Snowbunny to stay with her. These were his kits after all. He should be there for the birth but Howlingnight had already turned to find Roseshade.
Howlingnight ran back, "Okay, she's not there, but I found this guy who said he helped out with a birth before and his mom used to be a witch."
He stepped away as Nikkohydrangea stepped over to Frostcloud. He was a familiar face, the younger brother to her previous apprentice Windyhurricane. He had returned recently in critical condition, nearly dead after being attacked by two cannibals, his leg lost in the attack.
"Sup," Nikkohydrangea said as he placed down some large blankets of moss, and a stick. "Is that your mate outside? Would you prefer him in or out, if you want him in I can force him to stay." He offered before sitting down closer to her, "Mind if I feel around your lower abdomen?"
Frostcloud met Nikkohydrangea with a hard stare but accepted his help with a curt nod in which instantly turned into a wince of pain. "I...I want him in here." She mewed at last, looking desperately toward the entrance to the den before turning back to Nikkohydrangea. "Do what you need to. Just help me get these blasted kits out." She winced again, digging her claws into the ground.
"Just remember, cats don't throw up kits, that's not how kits are born," Howlingnight said tapping Snowbunny to go into the den.
"You... Didn't honestly believe that did you?" Snowbunny asked.
"It was one of those things you were told as a kid and you never had to wonder about the fact until you had kits of your own, okay? Just go in there," Howlingnight mumbled.
Snowbunny quickened his pace into the den moving to Frostcloud's side instantly. His heart aching for her as he saw the way she dug her claws into the ground, "We're going to get through this," He promised, placing one paw onto her shoulder to show that he was there.
"I got some herbs that can help quicken the birth, it's going to hurt because it'll happen fast, but also it'll be over fast," Nikkohydrangea reasoned, nudging the herbs to Frostcloud as an option for her.
She felt comforted as Snowbunny made his appearance. She began to relax but the pain of the Kitting still caused her to wince. Frostcloud sniffed the herbs that Nikkohydrangea passed to her but the foul smelling herbs made her gag. "Do I really have to eat these? They smell like a dog threw up on them." She pinned her nose shut, her eyes watering from the powerful stench of the herbs.
"No, you don't need them, I'm just saying that they can make your birth happen faster," Nikkohydrangea reasoned. The blue grey tom sat next to Frostcloud in a relaxed, yet impatient manner, like he were in a waiting room.
"Do what you're comfortable with Frost, this is our moment together," Snowbunny reminded her, his paw tracing over her back in comfort.
Another contraction occured but it didn't seem like the kits were anywhere near coming so she contemplated on the herbs. She really didn't want to be waiting in pain for too long. Deciding on the herbs, she took a mouthful and swallowed quickly, licking her paw to rid of the foul taste. It didn't take long for the herbs to kick in. Soon, her contractions were closer together and she could feel her body automatically beginning to push. The pain was excruciating and she wailed, her wails echoing through the mountain cliffs. Finally, after one more powerful push, an all white kit was born into the world. Frostcloud laid there for a moment, feeling relieved that she had gotten...one kitten out? "Is...is that all? Just the one?"
