Rosalia-kun huffed and puffed, irritation building on their white pelt as they dove and swerved through the construction. Twolegs had fenced off and covered up parts of the territory, and the parts of it that were uncovered was coated with something that tasted way too salty to Rosalia-kun. But they were on a mission. Their paw covered in dark grey stuff after accidentally stepping into something sticky, unknowingly leaving a perfect paw print in the soon to be road. It had began to harden in their fur, restricting to where they could barely flex their claws. Rosalia-kun knew what the others said, that hunting was their priority. That the growling of their stomachs was like a war cry. But their mind drifted to their studio. Their art work. They prayed it wasn't destroyed. The once base for the Ambassadors was just over the hill, and Rosalia-kun's words caught in their throat. With a deep breath, they stepped up and was faced with the rubble of the once tall college. Their tail drooped.

Felix-kun had been out hunting but had only captured two measly looking pieces of prey. Well prey is still prey and at least he caught something he thought with a sigh. Things had been tough for...everyone. It wasn't easy but they were surviving and getting through okay. The tom was about to head back to camp before he caught the scent of someone he knew. Rosalia-kun? Curious the ginger trainee veered off his original path to that of Rosalia-kun's. He was catching up to them and even saw their paw marks as he too stepped in the dark stuff (which felt super gross and wrong in his book.) Before he knew it he found his friend looking...sad. Their tail was drooped with a body language that seemed to radiate depression...defeat. He dropped the prey safely to the side then slowly he went to Rosalia's side his tail lightly touching their shoulder. "Hey Rosalia-kun...are you okay? Is something the matter?" Felix's face had worry and concern written all over it for his dear friend.

Even though Rosalia-kun jumped at the sudden touch, not a sound left their mouth. It had completely dried up. To say something the matter was an understatement. Wide dark eyes met his before dropping once again, before staring out over the horizon. "Look." Was all they managed to choke out, pointing their concrete covered paw at the rubble. In its place was once the old brick and mortar college. It had no historical value to those that didn't know it, and now was nothing more than a wiped stain in history. Construction vehicles were surrounding it, cleaning up the debris.

It took Felix-kun a few minutes before it finally sunk in what Rosalia-kun was upset about...they most definitely had a right to be upset too! Felix-kun himself great anger at what the two legs had been doing, but also great sadness in the loss of their secret space...Rosalia's art space. All of their art, their pride and joy had been in there and now... the tom wasn't sure as how to comfort his friend. He tried then failed to say anything for a good short while until he found the words to speak. "I am so sorry Rosalia...I refuse to allow this to be the end of your passion. I know how much art means to you and I won't allow some mean selfish two legs take it away from you. If I have to I will find a new place for us. One that will be safe for a long while and I will steal the supplies we need like they stole the hide out from us. I will do whatever it takes to make you happy again Rosalia-kun. You can count on me to try to turn things around for the better!" He poofed out his chest and gave the fellow trainee a goofy grin without realizing it.

Rosalia-kun wasn't sure what they expected. Sympathy maybe, or anger. But not the silence. It droned on, making the noise from the construction crew all the more obvious. More deafening. Rosalia started to open their mouth when Felix-kun finally spoke up. Their dark eyes widened at his speech, blood rushing to their face as their fur took a rosy tint. That Felix would take so many measures, and supported them no matter what. It was a comforting yet alien feeling, and they fell into that silence for a bit. Their claw traced a circle a few times over on the ground before they nodded. "Thank you... Felix. And I, I won't let this end me."

The tom gave a simple nod as he looked over towards the construction site then got to his paws. "I think we should leave this place for now and go look for a new place to turn into an art gallery for you. Did you have a place in mind you wanted to explore in general by chance? Before... well before all this happened." Felix-kun made a mental note to not forget about the prey he caught but come back for it later. "If you don't have any in mind I might have an idea on a place."

Rosalia-kun narrowed their eyes. Well, no, they had no ideas. The building felt invincible, it's tall brick walls able to handle storms and winds with ease. It was always so warm in the Foreign Affairs dens, cuddling around the other members as the walls were battered. But now they were all gone. All those memories. Even if they had considered the possibility of it being destroyed, Rosalia wasn't sure they'd be able to find a place similar enough. When they were finally able to tear their eyes away from it again, they had already began to water. "What do you have in mind?"

"You'll see, just follow me." The ginger tom got to his paws at last and gave a quick stretch looking towards the destruction of their secret hideaway spot before turning his back on it. There was no way in telling if Rosalia would even like the new location he had in mind but he had to try. At the very least to try to cheer up his dearest friend. In truth he was hesitant to show the location only because in honesty it wouldn't live up to how magnificent the college was, but it was better than nothing. He waited for Rosalia to follow before he started his path away from the destruction, "Mind you this next place is opposite from here and it is a bit of a walk but not something we can't handle."

Felix-kun got up first, leaving Rosalia-kun to stare out at the rubble for the last time. It was going to be swept away soon, thrown back into the trash where only a few will even remember its existence. And fewer would know what Rosalia had transformed it into. A lump formed in their throat, and they swallowed it. They didn't want to, no couldn't, cry right now. Even if they were supposed to fall, some invisible force held her tears back. Pulling themselves up, they rubbed their nose on the back of their paw before turning away and following after Felix. They couldn't look back, not that they really needed too. The image was burned into Rosalia's retinas. "That's fine."

So the two walked in silence towards the destination only Felix-kun knew where it was. He wanted to say something to distract or cheer up Rosalia-kun but nothing came to mind so just remained quiet instead. Time felt like it was both dragging forever and yet rushing by at the same time. I was an odd experience for the ginger tom to describe but the best way he could explain it. However he saw the signs of their place coming up with an old and worn down broken stone path coming over to the right. He steered them towards the path and walked a little bit slower to see everything around them. He could see the junkyard from here but had to really look to find this place since its view was hidden by a pile of cars and broken twisted metal beams and sheets. Dead trees were all around them as well as dead yellowing grass. He eventually saw the building if you could even call it that. It was somewhere between a shack and shed but was almost obscured by the dead tree and thorny brush around it. Obvious this was been forgotten by the two legs and left abandoned. Felix had only found this place by chasing down a pathetic looking mouse through here or else wouldn't have know it had even existed. Luckily the inside was much nicer than what the outside looked like. The tom stopped walking and paused as they stood a few short feet away from the building. "So um...this is uh it. I know it doesn't look the best but it also doesn't look like its in use and just forgotten....um what do you think?"

*oop. i'm here*
Rosalia-kun did nothing to alleviate the silence between them. It was comforting, in a strange way. Just getting to walk and not worry about keeping up the conversation. As the path shifted from rubble to brick then back to dirt, Rosalia felt a pit grow in her stomach. What were they supposed to say. With the towers of junk and cars above them, they're expectations were tempered. Just what of worth could be out here? As the pair broke through the underbrush and found the shack, Rosalia felt themselves sucking on their lower lip.
They really didn't know what to say. Felix-kun was right. It didn't look the best. And really, compared to a whole art college class, there was no way they're expectations were going to be met. Rosalia's expression faltered a bit, just long enough to be noticeable before they straightened back out. "I mean, yeah. It's nice. ... hmm. I just don't know what to say. Thank you Felix." Their tone was unreadable.

The orange tom barely caught it but saw what Rosalia-kun was thinking. "I was thinking with some work and dedication we can make this shack art itself...then we can make art inside. I know it won't replace what we lost but perhaps together we can make something special of this place. "Plus I know how to get a few supplies at the very least...I understand if you don't want to do this but...if there is anyway I can help Rosalia I will do my best to help." Honestly he knew there wasn't much that he could do to take the pain away from them but at least he could be there for Rosalia.

(btw where would you like this to go with Rosalia and Felix? I know we were thinking of him being this big goof who cannot for the life of him read the room and realize Rosalia likes him.) strawberrycupid

His words pulled on their heart strings. They shouldn't have judged so quickly. Making the shack art itself, the idea was enough to bring that forgotten light back into their dark eyes. They couldn't help but turn and stare at Felix-kun. Words like water to a parched plant, Rosalia could feel themselves come back to life. What felt like a symbol of their defeat was suddenly recontextualized to become their symbol of hope. Without being able to help themselves, they rubbed their cheek against Felix's shoulder. "Thank you Felix."

The tom blinked in shock at the gesture but a smile was on his face. "Of course, I am more than happy to do this. You are a dear friend to me and if I can make you happy then, well I am happy too! You deserve this Rosealia." In return he also gave a light headbutt to her shoulder a small purr in his throat. His mission accomplished: he brought Rosealia back from the pits of defeat and depression.
