Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. CAT NAME: Rosethorn or Orchiddrop (hear me out here...)
CAT BIO: both are already on the page!
I'd like to put either of these cats up for consideration. I think either of them getting a deputyship would be fun and I'd be more than happy to leave the decision of which up to you. I'll list their individual strengths and reasons they might be chosen below.
Orchiddrop: Stellar fighter and diplomat. She would likely be chosen for her strength, diplomacy, and restraint. A reason she may not be chosen is because she is still recovering from her abusive relationship and is doubting herself heavily, but she's good at compartmentalizing so she could still be a good deputy despite this.
Rosethorn: Intelligent and perceptive. I think it would be an interesting dynamic to have a deputy who cannot fight at all, but embodies more of Summerclan's pacifist side. She would likely be chosen for her brains and her strategic planning. A reason she may not be chosen is because she cannot fight and is a bit more prone to flares of her temper.
Both of these characters are deeply loyal to Summerclan and would make a good deputy, in my mind. Like I said, I like them both!

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE SUMMERCLAN DEPUTY?: I would love to be Summerclan's deputy because I love Summerclan! It was my first clan after my return to Classic, and I have thoroughly enjoyed plotting in it and watching my characters grow up in Summerclan. I also would like to be deputy to the coolest leader ever c; I specifically waited to see if Summerclan try outs would open in the future because it's one of the only clans I feel I can truly devote myself to.
WHAT CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE TO SUMMERCLAN?: Activity, experience, and creativity. I am on every day, responding to threads in Summerclan every day, and would continue to do this as Deputy. I have led several clans before (including here on proboards!) and thus have the knowledge to easily transition to the position and help with adding cats, editing the Summerclan page, and meeting contribution requirements for clan activity. I also really enjoy plotting and have come up with fun mini-plots and even day to day open threads in the past.
HOW WELL WOULD YOUR CAT GET ALONG WITH RATSTAR?: Both cats trust Ratstar and have interacted with him on several occasions. Orchiddrop might be doubting why he chose her and thus more willing to acquiesce to whatever decisions he makes in the beginning instead of speaking up. Rosethorn, on the other hand, would be more willing to politely challenge him when she disagreed.
A MINI-PLOT IDEA THAT YOU COULD RUN YOURSELF: Two apprentices go missing, and their scent trails lead right to the Southern Sea before disappearing. The strongest swimmers in the clan follow the apprentices into the sea, only to get swept out by a current. They end up on a large island not terribly far from shore, where they must hunt down the missing apprentices (whose scent has reappeared on this new beach!), survive the unique wildlife on the island, and regather their strength to swim back to shore.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE SUMMERCLAN DEPUTY? – No lie, SummerClan was the first clan I ever led that I felt truly, spiritually connected to. SummerClan was my favorite leadership in all my time on Classic and I've looked forward to a day when I could potentially return to a leadership here. I love the clan, I love its history, and I love the character I've irreversibly tied to it. It just feels like home.
WHAT CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE TO SUMMERCLAN? – Everything. Anything. I consider myself a pretty creative person and I especially love unique plots, so I could come up with clan plot ideas, mini plot ideas to spurn activity, I'm a graphic and web designer so I can create layouts for literally any occasion, BBCode or HTML. I consider myself a sort of 'jack of all trades'.
HOW WELL WOULD YOUR CAT GET ALONG WITH RATSTAR? – First and foremost, Fracturedglass is a unique individual that, through pure chance is inhabited by not only his own soul, but past SummerClan leader, Labyrinthiansoul's spirit as well. That means that there are two individuals that can perceive Ratstar in potentially significantly different ways.
Ratstar with Fracturedglass – Fracturedpaw already feels more at home with Ratstar in the short interactions they've had. His down to earth, laid back demeanor eases a near constant thrumming anxiety within the orange tabby that not a lot of people can reach and affect. To Fractured, Ratstar is an older brother figure. Becoming deputy and working closely with Rat would just increase that feeling of brotherhood and connection for him.
Ratstar with Labyrinthiansoul – Contrary to Fracturedpaw, so far Ratstar hasn't been aware of Fracturedpaw's current spiritual state and Labyrinthiansoul didn't make himself truly known to Fracturedpaw until late in his apprenticehood, so this would be like a fresh relationship, starting from step 1. Labby would have respect for Ratstar, not only because of his position but also because of his perspective on SummerClan and his history. As a rogue in his life before he was brought to SummerClan (and shortly thereafter made deputy and then leader, when he hadn't looked for it or desired it whatsoever) he understands the brutality of living in the city and fending for himself. Only that he as his dead name, Jareth, was successful enough in the crime division to make a name for himself – one that he eventually had to run from, leading him to Summer. There could be some really awesome drama with them, or there could just be some bonding that brings them closer. Angst or fluff, or crack, Labby's known for being sarcastic and loosey goosey.
A MINI-PLOT IDEA THAT YOU COULD RUN YOURSELF –
Once upon a time, there lived a tom who was glorious and ruled with an iron fist, and while his subjects grew to fear him, they also grew to adore him, for he protected them from the darkness that lay just outside their borders. He was considered the Goblin King and he reigned for many long seasons – until one day, he disappeared. None of his subjects knew of his whereabouts and could find no trace of an attack that would pull him away from his duty to his kingdom and to his people. With his absence, the Goblin Kingdom fell into disarray, the darkness closing in and infiltrating what was once home. Now, they look for salvation in the form of a young tom who exhibits more than one similarity to their esteemed Goblin King. Before Labyrinthiansoul stumbled across SummerClan and was named deputy of the clan by Pumpkinstar seasons ago, he was known as Jareth, the Goblin King. He ruled his kingdom in the city for a long time before he up and vanished without notifying a single one of his lackeys. While he was rising through the ranks in SummerClan and ultimately became their leader, his kingdom back in the city was perishing. His subjects, knowing no other life than one provided and safeguarded by Jareth, were desperate to find a savior that could return them to the life they had prospered in before. After Labyrinthiansoul's death, the darkness – led by a tom known to Labyrinthiansoul as Ozul, a menacing, sadistic feline who stole away Labyrinthiansoul's sister Nisha – closed in on the goblin kingdom and offered its inhabitants nothing but pain.
Having been flung back into the world of the living by the ancestors at the time of Fractured's birth, Labyrinthiansoul found himself sharing a space already occupied – and quickly came to realize there was no escape from Fractured's vessel. Fractured's mother was one of the only individuals who was able to see the spiritual fracture of time and space when they united, thus the young orange tom's namesake. For some time, Labby lived within Fractured, building his mind palace so as to be as comfortable as he was able within the home of Fractured's mind. However, the older the young tom gets, the more cognizant he is about Labby's existence. There will come a day, very soon, when the two will unite and it won't just be Fractured in danger of the very soul Labby longed to never see again.
All of SummerClan will face Ozul's wrath.
(Basically, I've had this idea of a menacing force, Ozul, facing off against Labby since Labby's creation. After I created Fracturedpaw and figured I'd spin a twist on the reincarnation trope to keep Labby in my life, I figured Ozul would sense Labby's return to the Aboveground, as Labby and Ozul like to call anywhere that isn't the goblin kingdom of Jareth's domain, and would come after him – no matter how vulnerable Fractured is. It'd be your stereotypical good against evil plot that all of Summer or just a select group of individuals could be part of – and we could always make things not as they appear. Plot twists are my specialty. c;)

SUMMERCLAN ACTIVITY (1-10): 7-8ish? It's definitely in my top 3 clans I'm most active in. That is partly because of Batflower, Bugkit, and Lunarkit <3 and now that the Fairystar children have been finally added after all these months. I have even more reasons to be active in Summer! I also graduate college in May so I won't have classes to deal with after April.
OVERALL ACTIVITY (1-10): 7-8. I've been getting on Classic every day since winter break started and ended. It has become my destressor from classes and life in general. So much that I've even factored in time each day of the week. That I can set aside for classic related things. I will admit I did hit a sluggish slope of activity last semester. But that is because I took way too many 4000 level art classes. Something they always tell us not to do when we are in college. I did die slightly from the workload that came with those finals so much my activity did tank in november/december, but I normally am very good at giving people a head's up when things like that happen. This semester I am working a lot less because the school’s haven’t opened up as much as they were last semester. I also took a lot less classes this semester and decided to stick with freshman level intro classes. So overall I have way too much free time that my activity is going to skyrocket.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE SUMMERCLAN DEPUTY?: I am very passionate about Summerclan. This clan is literally a part of my top three favorite clans on Classic. Probably why I have accumulated 10 characters in this clan over the past 2 years. After the Survival Clan deletion, Summerclan became one of those clans I turned to so I could replace the void of not having the Survival Clans to roleplay in. I learned very quickly that I should have given Summerclan a chance many years ago. When Fox became leader with Doestar. I really became active in Summerclan. I truly fell in love with this clan, because of the energy and spark she gave the clan. I further fell in love with it when the Garden Keeper position was created. It helped me achieve creating one of my favorite characters Batflower. A character with a unique history from the rest of my characters and I’m always trying to grow that further. So much that I’ve been waiting months to see if Summerclan would have tryouts again. I also would love to be a part of this amazing dream team that Summerclan currently has for staff. It was always a dream of mine to be on staff with Gidget. Either as a medicine cat or even a deputy, but the whole time you were Waterclan Leader I had positions in other clans. I also always admired the energy and passion you brought to Waterclan when you led with Gravelstar. I believe there is a lot I could learn from you. As for Whitemuzzle I was so excited and happy to be on staff with her when I became Summerclan’s deputy. There is a lot that I can learn from her and her medicine cat Graythorn. She has a long history with Summerclan so there is a lot I could learn from her! I do believe Graythorn can be considered to be one of the longest serving medicine cats on Classic so there is a lot you can learn from him as a character.
WHAT CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE TO SUMMERCLAN?: I can contribute my activity, creativity, artistic skills, and ability to come up with very interesting plots! I can also dedicate my experience from leading Brookclan, Earthclan, Fallclan, and briefly Summerclan. I do have a lot of ideas and plots that I saved up from when I was leader of Summerclan. I never got the chance to use any of them and I would offer them up as ideas for plots or even creative ideas to help better Summerclan. I am also learning how to create html layouts in a class currently so I will be able to offer up my knowledge on that and create layouts for Summerclan. I would also love to help create a way to help further the development of the Red Guard if that was an area of interest. Maybe even offer ideas for some unique Summerclan customs if that was ever an idea that wanted to be explored. Also being the current Fallclan medicine cat I could advocate ideas that could create some plots between Fallclan and Summerclan since they do share a border.
HOW WELL WOULD YOUR CAT GET ALONG WITH RATSTAR?: I personally cannot remember if we've ever had a thread between Ratstar and Batflower. But after reading Ratstar’s bio I would say these two would get along maybe even become pals someday? I would assume Ratstar would have had some sort of trust in Batflower at one point and maybe still does? At least enough for Ratstar to make Batflower a Red Guard. I know he got deleted from that position because of my inactivity last semester, so for plot continuity I played off that Batflower missed his flowers and position as a Garden Keeper so he chose on his own free will to step down. Now he would be an unlikely choice for a deputy and making him deputy would be Ratstar taking a chance on him, one that Batflower wouldn’t quite understand at first. Might even try/fail to argue with Ratstar that he is making a mistake, but maybe Ratstar could see the potential that Batflower has to make a wonderful deputy. Batflower would also be the first garden keeper to become a deputy if Ratstar chooses him. Now what sets Batflower apart from his fellow garden keepers is that Batflower originally had training to become a warrior. So he’s become a jack-of-all trades sort of character. Also grew up learning a lot of knowledge from his four fathers who were all leading the Mountain Clans at the time. But after the death of two of his fathers Shadedstar and Doestar and his friend Venuskit. Batflower gave up on being a warrior and decided that becoming a garden keeper in Venuskit’s honor was his path in life. By the way I’m not sure if Ratstar would know who Batflower’s fathers were,and the fact that he was the adoptive child of Doestar, Bijou, Ghoulstar, and Shadedstar. That he grew up having a decent base knowledge about the other mountain clans, or that fact that one of Batflower’s fathers still being alive and living in Fallclan. I’m just sort of assuming that knowledge or that could be knowledge that would bring these two clans closer? Now with Batflower’s father Bijou still being alive there is a small connection he would have to Fallclan. A connection that could help develop either an acknowledgement, alliance, or some sort of relationship between Ratstar and Fallclan. That is if Ratstar is interested or even cares about Fallclan. IF Ratstar knows this kind of information it could be contributing factors to why Ratstar would want to make Batflower deputy? Another reason why I could see Ratstar and Batflower becoming friends over time because they share similar view points. They both have a deep love for Summerclan and they care about it. They both view Summerclan members as family. While I totally see Ratstar being everyone in Summerclan’s dad. Batflower has this sort of maternal energy, cares for his clan mates in every fiber of his being. He is a supportive friend to all and a paternal figure / life mentor to those that don’t have one. He loves to shower his clan mates with love, affection and happiness even if sometimes he isn’t happy himself. So I could see them basically becoming everyone’s parents. Parenting their whole clan of hippy misfits to greatness!
A MINI-PLOT IDEA THAT YOU COULD RUN YOURSELF: ( btw x.x so sorry I ended up writing out a whole plot sort of situation. It just seemed interesting and seemed it could work with Summerclan's current situation. I would be willing to run this by myself though. )
I will probably be bad at explaining this plot, so I hope I do it justice in my rambling, But I want you to imagine pirate cats o3o. Now I know Summerclan is currently isolated from the other mountain clans and is only really speaking to Springclan. So they would be extra cautious if a random group of cats appeared out of the blue. So anyway Summerclan has a shore line and they have the sea(lake? Not sure which it is?) so you know pirate cats! One day a rogue appears out of the blue. The cat has a funny accent and he looks rough like he got in a fight and he is injured. He/she begs to stay with the clan for a few days while he/her "heals" from some injuries he/she gained on his/her travels. Summerclan is really cautious about this and it could spark some different opinions among the Summerclan members. Nonetheless this Rogue is treated for his/her’s wounds and then disappears in the middle of the night. They don't see him/her again for a few days.
After a few days pass the cat shows up but with a much larger group of cats. Now this group wouldn't be the size of Summerclan per say but they are not like 5 cats either. They are a decent size group and they all look large, tough and their fur looks rugged like you don’t want to mess with them. This time they don't ask to stay with Summerclan, but set up a small camp just outside the border, but too close to the border for Summerclan's liking. The group claims they are harmless and want to make peace with Summerclan. They are only there to look for some treasure that is nearby and then they agree to leave. But something seems off about this group.
Ratstar or the deputy decide to keep an eye on them. They have the red guard and various warriors spy on the rogue group. These members see and overhear conversations that raise many questions about the rogues and it concerns Ratstar/the deputy/ and probably Graythorn? In the meantime warriors complain that prey they've buried while hunting is going missing. Graythorn could notice that herbs are starting to go missing from their usual spots. Even Garden Keepers are complaining that they've discovered some of the winter plants have been dug up. This all is alarming because its winter resources are scarce. Summerclan is skeptical that the missing items are the rogues doing. They don't want to be rude and they definitely don't want conflict as they are currently isolated from others. In the middle of the night a few days later. The Summerclan members are awoke by the pirate cats storming their camp. A fight breaks out and the captain of the pirate cats accuses the Summerclan cats that they stole their treasure. Summerclan confused says they didn't steal the treasure. The captain points at a Summerclan member and says they saw that cat steal it. Well it actually was a rogue that just happened to look similar to the Summerclan warrior. To bring down the tension in the air the deputy or some red guard suggests going to track down the treasure for the pirates. The captain reluctantly agrees with that statement because they just want the treasure back so they can return to their homeland. So the deputy announces they will lead the search party, a few summerclan warriors and maybe a red guard or 2 will join the deputy. The pirate captain sends 1-2 of their cats to make sure Summerclan holds up the end of their deal.
The small search party sets off on their travel. They follow the rogue's scent all the way down the shoreline to a twolegplace. After spending a few days there running from paws maybe spraining a paw or two. Picking up a few stray kittypets. They find the rogue that they are looking for. Turns out it was just a random shiny stone. After some convincing the rogue hands the stone over and the group sets off back to Summerclan. Possibly with the rogue and a few random strays in toe. When they get back to Summerclan's camp they hand the stone over and the pirate captain agrees to leave. Some pirates might stay and enjoy the clan life better. The rogue and maybe the few strays they picked up along the way might also stay and become new members of Summerclan. PICTURE OF YOUR CHARACTER (link, preferably): link
Hey guys! Since it doesn't look like anyone else will be trying out, I've decided to call the tryouts early! This was a SUPER tough decision, all of you had fantastic tryouts that you should be proud of. I love all of your characters so much, and it makes me so happy that you all love Summerclan so much. ^-^
But ultimately I can only choose one person, so after a lot of debate, I've decided to pick Sunlight with Rosethorn as the new Summerclan Deputy! Please send her your love, and send lots of love to each other as well! Thank you all so much for trying out! <3
