Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It had been a few days since Cradlegrave had been appointed deputy, and he was feeling thoroughly whelmed by the whole thing. He knew things would pick up once they inevitably began the move to their new territory, but until they did, Cradlegrave was stuck on patrolling their current location until he found something mildly interesting--at which point he would go report to Beestar about it, come back out, and the whole cycle would start over again.
He growled under his breath, and was seriously beginning to consider just taking a nap there and then when he noticed something in the distance. Cradlegrave squinted. Were his eyes deceiving him, or was that an unfamiliar cat approaching?
oh classic gods, please don't let cloakedpanda die in his first thread

((HARD MODE: (3) Start a fight- Start a fight with anyone (-1 ♡) if you lose the fight, (+1 ♡) if you win the fight! We got lucky XD))
A black-and-white blob sprinted straight towards the SwiftClan deputy at an alarming speed. While yes, he was an unfamiliar cat and identified as such, Cloakedpanda thought himself to look like a murderous badger at this very moment. As he got closer, his blazing amber eyes revealed that while he was not a murderous badger, he may yet be a murderous cat.
Once they were only tail-lengths away, Cloakedpanda leaned forward on his haunches, briefly locking eyes with the other tom. His muscles rippled beneath his fur and suddenly, he sprung into the air with his claws extended and ready to sink into Cradlegrave's flesh.
Cradlegrave's eyes widened. "WHAT IN TARNATION--" he hollered, rolling deftly to the side as Cloakedpanda leapt at him. The other tom's claws only grazed him, but that didn't mean he'd escaped completely unharmed; a few droplets of blood arced through the air, stemming from scratches Cloakedpanda left on his pelt. Cradlegrave had thought he'd be safe from any more attempts on his life once he'd come to the forest. Was this one of those attempts, or was this newcomer just looking for trouble?
"What's your problem?!" he hissed, dropping into a battle stance. "That's gotta be the worst attempt at a hello I ever saw."

Satisfied by even the smallest amount of damage he dealt, all aggression left Cloakedpanda as he landed off to the side. Claws sheathed and fur relaxed, he sat opposite of Cradlegrave, his face a stone mask of nonchalance. It was almost as if there had never been a random surprise attack just seconds ago. He gave an experimental sniff of the air before answering in a soft but monotone voice, "I've been waiting for an invitation to join SwiftClan for quite some time, but my patience has run out. I suppose that is my problem."
I can't remember where I originally wanted to go with this lmao
"That's an interestin' way of joining, for sure," Cradlegrave said, eyes narrowed. He let his stance relax slightly, though he kept his claws unsheathed just in case. "We're always acceptin' new members, but...y'know, we don't really do invitations. You could'a just walked in and asked."

This was all news to him, but it made him feel better to know that they didn't not want him to join or something. He hated being excluded. He also hated feeling unintelligent and unfortunately, that was how he felt right now. Great, now he thinks I'm mouse-brained. I have to change that. Slowly, Cloakedpanda rolled his head to one side, his eyes blinking incredibly slow. It was supposed to convey some form of disinterest but really, he might have seemed a second away from passing out."Who said I wanted to join?" There! Now, he'll think I'm mysterious and cool!
Cradlegrave's eyes narrowed as he watched the stranger's head roll to the side. Was...was this cat having some kind of medical emergency? He unsheathed his claws and took a cautious step closer. "You said that, sir," he said. "Now listen--are you feelin' okay, there? Do I need to call Firetooth over to sort you out?"
i've only known cloakedpanda for a short time but if any harm comes to him or he runs out of hard mode hearts i will RIOT

"No I didn't," he mumbled. He was definitely sulking now, but the sound of concern in Cradlegrave's voice made him lazily turn back to him. Now it all made sense. How could this cat possibly think Cloakedpanda was cool with someone like Firetooth around!? "Does this... cat have teeth made of fire? Because if you're trying to threaten me with something like that, it'll never work." There was a quiver in his voice now though.
Okay, there was definitely a medical emergency going on. Cradlegrave wasn't best known for a particularly gentle personality, but perhaps it was time to learn, given that this was supposed to be his job now. "No fire teeth," he assured the tom, though he didn't feel like he'd come off particularly convincing. "...His tongue's kinda fiery, though. Sir, I think I should learn your name before this goes any further."

Feeling only somewhat reassured, he still gave a very slow nod of understanding. "They call me Cloakedpanda." Who they were was a mystery even to him, especially since he'd come up with the name only a few moments ago. "You can tell me yours on the way to your camp. It's only fair that you'd escort me there so I may verify the truth of your words." Of course, it had nothing to do with the fact that he just wanted to join. No. Clearly he just needed to see for himself that this other cat didn't have fire teeth.
Cradlegrave nodded. This new cat—Cloakedpanda—already had a warrior name, which was convenient. It meant he wouldn’t have to think of one. Yeah, sure. I’ll take this guy to camp. He ain’t gonna attack me again, probably. Maybe. Possibly.
Then again, it would be kinda fun to mess with the guy a little, wouldn’t it?
“What you said about fiery teeth got me thinkin’, y’know,” Cradlegrave started. “None of us Swifties have fiery teeth, but we did have a small incident of a violent chimp goin’ ‘round attackin’ people. An isolated incident, of course.” He paused. "Also my name is Cradlegrave."

Slowly, his expression twisted into one of alarm. Cloakedpanda wasn't entirely sure if he knew what a chimp was, but it sounded dangerous. How was it even attacking people? Couldn't their group handle it? Swallowing down a lump in his throat, he turned his face to the ground to hide it. He wasn't dumb enough not to know Cradlegrave had seen his reaction, but he was nothing if not determined to seem cool. "Yes..." he started in a low whisper. "The truth is, I already knew of the incident. I actually attacked you because I mistook you for the chimp." Naturally, it was a lie, but how could anyone really know?
Cradlegrave raised an eyebrow. "You...thought I was the chimp?" he asked, his confusion all to apparent. "Gee, man. I don't even know whether that's a compliment or an insult." He thought he'd had a good read on this Cloakedpanda guy, but now he didn't know what was real and what wasn't. Maybe he just liked to screw with people, the same way Cradlegrave had tried to do with him?
...Or maybe he was just an advanced idiot. "I guess I am a little chimp-like," he admitted, "y'know, with my bulgin' muscles and long, red-tinted fur." He did not have either of those things.

Cloakedpanda noticed Cradlegrave's confusion and realized that he might have made a mistake, which only became more apparent the longer the deputy spoke. In the end, Cradlegrave had confused him just as much. What was he getting at? Nothing made sense, but if Cloakedpanda was wrong in saying the tom and a chimp were similar, then what could he do about it now? It wasn't like he really knew what a chimp was to begin with. But then, maybe he could roll with it being a compliment or an insult. Maybe it would even make him seem more mysterious if what he said made no sense.
Blinking at the ginger tom for a little bit, he tilted his head assessingly. "Well, the resemblance is... uncanny." Then he turned away to look through the trees, while simultaneously showing off his side profile.
