Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Jadie Silverfury and Agonywail's thread He had done his best to stay clear of Silverfury for quite some time. It wasn't that Agonywail did not want to get to know the powerful pureblooded tom, but he intimidated him. He was the perfect WinterClan in so many ways. He had a pureblooded mate, a successful litter of kits, and had the leader's favor. That, and the mother of his kits had just started to like him. Maybe not like, but was beginning to appreciate. For such a traditionalist, Agonywail considered that step from Dottymask to be a big win. He didn't want to possibly ruin it by making a fool out of himself in front of Silverfury, but now he was stuck on a patrol with him and he could feel the tension mounting despite two other warriors being with them. When Silverfury, the patrol leader, told him to take Hailknight down a separate mountain pass, he shook his head. "No, let's go together Silverfury." His distinctive Arabic-like accent echoed off the mouth, a constant reminder that English was not his first language. He cast a glare to Hailknight and Sleetstorm, and they quickly got the message and run off.
He turned his attention back to Silverfury and sighed. Better get this over with, and what better thing to talk to him about the she-cats! He did have two of them after all. But, these were not conversations he typically had as having a mate never really was in the forefront of his mind, so his vocabulary in those areas was lacking. Seriously lacking. He sat there in silence for a few seconds just staring at Silverfury with his mouth hanging open before speaking. "Lucky you! You have two she-cats... noze zath yoli." He definitely did not know that word in English. "Dottymask is so..." Trying to remember the word, he paused. "Hot!" He was looking for attractive or pretty, but what was the difference? "I would love nozeit zath Dottymaskil!"
Silverfury wasn't in a pleasant mood, although one would argue the brooding tom never really was. He had a natural scowl even in happiness; it was part of what made him so unapproachable. As it was he was annoyed to be put on a patrol with Agonywail of all cats. He had been gunning for the tom's Knight of the Wise position and in fact was expecting it given his pureblood status and ties to the existing leadership in the Clan. Imagine his shock and revolting when the outsider Agonywail stole what was rightfully his...
... and now he was going to try and make a move on his girl, too?
"You can't be serious," Silverfury had a deep, rumbling voice, comparable to thunder in its tone. He gave the Knight an incredulous look and then began laughing, not quite hysterically but it was certainly unnerving. After a few minutes he calmed down and wiped a tear from his eye, "I didn't take you as a joker, o Knight of the Wise, but that was a good one. As if Dottymask would even think twice about a cat whose blood is so polluted that he can't even speak like a true civilized cat."
Agonywail couldn't say that he was surprised at Silverfury's response. He understood his place within the clan. He knew that despite his position as Knight of the Wise, he would still always owe the purebloods some debt for letting him live in the Clan. He hoped to repay the debt someday, but he still had a long ways to go. The charcoal bengal lowered his nervous gaze to the ground as the other tom laughed at his musings.
"Well..." He paused. Silverfury was right. She was a Knight like him, and had blood as pure as the snow they were walking through. It was unreasonable to expect her to want to have kits with him, let alone think of him in any desirable way. But... there was someone in his family that maybe would consider him, someone closer to his age. "Well... maybe your daughter Rosemarypaw? I know she's young right now, but I can show her the ropes and groom her to be a good Knight when my time is up. I'm sure we would have beautiful kits."
That seemed to strike a cord with Silverfury that speaking of Dottymask did not. Whatever laughter he had had totally dissipated and he looked straight into Agonywail's eyes unflinchingly. Up close now, the Knight of the Wise would be able to see little flecks of gold in those cold gray eyes of his. With how tense the atmosphere had become it was almost like they were sparks and, if Agonywail was not careful, he would surely become the kindling.
"Rosemarypaw will have a good pureblood WinterClan tom," He said firmly, there was no arguing with him when he was like this, "My family has sired nothing short of purebloods for generations. I will not let our perfect record end with you."
