Garsparkling was sick and growing sicker. His long yellow-and-grey fur drooped and his whiskers were bent and craggy. He couldn't stop sneezing. It was greencough, and it was hitting in a hard leafbare. He could feel his muscles growing weak, but he refused to die of something so normal as an illness. Instead, he stalked the borders restlessly. He would die of hunger or exhaustion before he let this disease claim him.
His ears lifted as he heard something nearby, and he lifted his head. "Who goes there?" the WinterClan cat demanded. His sense of smell was gone now, so he could only guess.
