Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
racer the thread for Coyotekit and Littlestar Azura hadn't seen much in life since her stillbirth. They were everything she saw in the future, and they were dead before they even knew their names. It broke her in every sense of the word. She felt loss, grief, and anger, anger towards herself for not being able to help. She had been spending most of her days sleeping or visiting her children's graves for hours at a time. It soothed the pain in her heart, if only slightly, and it kept her away from all the pitiful stares her Clanmates gave her. But, sleep had never come easy to the she-cat since that day almost a moon ago. Her sleep was filled with nightmares ranging from the stillbirth to her own childhood, and it only made her feel worse. So, she had taken to steal poppy seeds from the medicine den to help her rest. Of course, no medicine cat would condone this.
Azura just returned from her visit from the graveyard when she looked to the medicine den. With the midday sun high over camp, most cats were gone for the day, so she made her move. She slipped inside the den to find Littlestar there, and she couldn't help the growled that slipped from her lips. Between the sleeping and the graveyard visits, she had only heard that Littlestar was around, and she hated her. Littlestar enabled Bloodyrondo to keep her in SunClan when she so clearly wanted to go home. Littlestar took away her freedom just as Octavia did. Just as Azura did to her own kits. Her eyes blazed with anger as she let out another hiss. She eyed the poppy seeds for a moment longer before whipping around and walking away from the den.
She wasn't the only visitor coming around then. Coyotekit also needed his share of medicine. His legs had been chewed up by a coyote just after he was born, and he had never walked because of it. His legs were covered in scars that even the most battle-scarred warrior would find terrifying, save for the lack of muscle underneath. Because of this, he had taken to slithering on his flank around the camp. It was slow, sometimes painful, and always annoying, but Coyotekit had a will to live, and maybe even walk someday. He was slithering into the medicine den as Azura stormed off, and almost stepped on him. The kitten let out a hiss as she passed, and Azura didn't even turn around to apologize. Coyotekit's light blue eyes looked up to Littlestar. "I'm sure she didn't mean it. She's just been really, really sad."

It had been only a dew days since being brought back to DayClan after her ordeal. Even after the blood had been washed away the path that had painted upon her could still be seen. The fur where the paint touched had become brittle, dry, and thin, a stark contrast to the silky waves of silver in between. A bright red line went from one side of her throat to the other, scabs bubbled upwards as the cauterized wound tried to heal itself. But the worst thing was the utter lack of energy, she spent most of her time asleep and even simple tasks like eating would require her to rest afterwards. That... thing... had drained her body and soul.
She barely caught a glimpse of Azura as she exited the medicine cat den, having slept through he appearance until the hiss had awoken her. She blinked as the she-cat disappeared her sleepy mind having trouble piecing together who it was or why they sounded so angry as a young kit came slithering through the entrance. It didn't take long for the experienced healer to realize that their back legs were not working before she even got a good look at the mangled limbs
"everyone is sad sometimes" she agreed, her voice raspy from all the smoke she had inhaled "Did you come to see the medicine cat?"
Coyotekit was perhaps the one cat in the Clan who didn't see her scars as anything bad or along those lines. She looked just like he did: heavily scarred, tired, but nonetheless alive and fighting for life. He understood her struggle more than she would know, but in his kithood he had no wise words of advice. He could only offer himself, his kindness, and his oh so uncomfortable leg jokes.
"Yeah, I guess, but she hasn't just been sad, but really, really sad." Though he was around five moons old, his injuries delayed his development considerably between his healing and being physically unable to play with the other kits as they did. "She was gonna have kits that could play with me, but when they were born they never opened their eyes." Of course, he did not understand the emotional depth of what he was saying. He couldn't comprehend the love she had for them, nor the love Littlestar had for her own kits.
He slithered his way forward a little bit more until the smell of herbs wafted into his nose. He rolled himself onto his stomach with a grimace and pushed his front legs up. They wobbled and quivered as he pushed his upper body above the ground, but his back legs remained crumpled behind him. "I usually see them now, but... I guess they aren't here right now, so we can just chat instead!" He smiled. "It's not like I can chase after them, you know? They have a leg, or four, up on me."

A miscarriage... at least that what she presumed from the way the kit spoke. It was a pain she knew all to well, the agony of having carried you children to term only for them never to open their eyes. For the little ones you had hoped for and were looking forward to watching grow being ripped from you. It was cruel and harsh, but it happened. She could still remember cursing the Sun God's name, confronting him, begging him to take her to. She had been convinced that it was his fault, that it was the Sun God that had taken her children from her. It had taken her a long time to stop blaming him, and even longer to stop blaming herself with all the things she should have done differently. All the things that she could have saved them... It was misery, being stuck in the loop of depression, self-blame, and grief. It wasn't a fate she would have wished upon anyone "Hopefully she will be able to find some peace..." her golden eyes going to the entrance before falling upon the young kit as he struggled to join her in her nest with the mangled limbs. She would have to reach out later
But she couldn't help but to smile at his joke, it reminded her of her own kits when they were that age. Even in such a condition, he still seemed so happy and full of life "They might have a leg up, but they shouldn't underestimate you. I saw how fast you slithered into here, before long they will be trying to figure out how to slow you down" she chuckled, the sensation sending pain through her sore body, but it didn't dampen her smile "maybe once I am better you can teach me how to move like that. It would be handy to know if my legs ever got hurt while fighting" she was impressed by just how much motion he had without the used of the limbs, but she didn't want to ask what had happened. It might bring up bad memories that are sometimes better off forgotten "What is your name little one?"
He smile grew when he saw that the leader laughed at his joke. It was a small, simple thing, but most cats were far to uncomfortable to even consider laughing. They were afraid of laughing even though he made the joke himself. It confused him. He couldn't understand what made them so uncomfortable. These legs were a part of his reality that he embraced. They made him different, they made him unique. Unlike one of his parents, he knew he would walk someday. He just had to work at it some more, every single day.
Coyotekit's eyes brightened at her compliment. It took him a long time to be able to go up and down the valley without anyone having to carry him, and even longer to still have some breath left when he finished. He saw it as prep for the day he could finally use his legs. No one would have a leg up on him that day. "I know right! I bet I could beat half the kittens here in a race! Yeah, they're fast, but they get so distracted! Like they see a mossball and freak out! And I'm like the only one still racing!" Still, he felt a pang of jealousy in his chest. He wanted to play mossball like the rest of them, but his condition only let him play goalie. Not bad, but it looked like much more fun to be on the field.
"Don't worry! I'd love to teach you! No one's ever asked me to show them before. I'm Coyotekit, and one day I'll show that coyote who's boss!" The grey-point tom pulled himself forward a little bit more, and now he could smell the scent of herbs radiating off her. She was really sick or something. He looked up and down her own wounds, and was utterly confused. What disease made lines like that all over her body? "Did a coyote get to you too?" He didn't mind when cats asked about his scars, so he just assumed no one did.

This little tom was special. Perhaps not in the way that most people thought it meant to be special, but special none the less. So happy and energetic, it was nearly impossible for her not to feel a little better while speaking to him "I'm going to hold you to the promise" she purred "Just give me a bit more time, and you and I will be slithering all over DayClan's camp" she didn't really care how silly it would look to have her copying the injured kit, if it gave him even an ounce more of self confidence, then she didn't care to play the fool
"Not a coyote..." she trailed off trying to figure out how to explain to the young kit truthfully without it being to scary "It's a rather long story, and you would get bored if I recited the whole thing" she chuckled, flicking some of the dirt off the kit's pelt "I was hurt by some other cats" she paused for a moment before continuing "but I will recover, I just need to rest"
The grey-point tom smiled and puffed his chest out the best he could with. "Don't worry, I'm a pretty good teacher." He gave her nudge. "But you still won't be able to beat me! I am the master." He shrank back and lowered himself to make it easier for his front legs to bear his weight. His eyes widened at the notion that some cats wanted to hurt her. In his mind, that didn't make any sense whatsoever. "Why would anyone try to hurt you? You're soooo nice and kind and," He winked. "You have a good since of humor for a walker."
He understood needing to rest more than anyone else. He woke up to his wounds, and he still remembered mewling for his mother. All he could do then was rest. It was physically painful for him to be awake back then. Things improved with rest as the days went by, and he knew the same would happen for Littlestar. "I don't wanna stop you from resting. It really does help! When I was a kid, I couldn't wake up without my legs hurting, but now they're so much better!" He tilted his head to the side. "Would you mind if I stayed with you for bit? Maybe we could tell each other stories?"

"That sounds wonderful teacher Coyotekit" she purred, resting her head on her paws as the kit settled in next to her. She hoped that whomever the kit's mother was wouldn't take offense or think that she was up to anything. She had a feeling most cats here in DayClan wouldn't exactly approve of her presence here "but you should go and speak to your parents first, and make sure that it is ok for you to be here. I wouldn't want them worrying about you" her mind wondered back to her own kits, though they weren't really kits any longer. She could still see them the way they looked at their family picnic, small and fluffy balls of fur still to young to have developed their true personalities. Would they even recognize her at this point? They had been so young. The only one she had seen was Perfectkit, and he hated her... despised her....
Coyotekit shook his head as he settled down next to Littlestar and softly leaned against her. "I think they'd be fine with it. They're always telling me to get out into the camp, and," He wiggled his legs. "It'll be a while before I get back. What's the worst they'll do anyway? They don't wanna stop me from moving around." As energetic and pure as he was, he knew that his parents wouldn't like him here. They were DayClanners to the core, and were not fans of Vixenkismet. He could only guess that another SunClan cat would be the same to them. "If they don't let me, then we just won't talk again, so we just gotta tell each other all our stories now." He purred and curled up closer to Littlestar. "What's your favorite story?"

Littlestar rested her head gently on her paws "What kind of story would you like to hear?" she mused, thinking about all the many tales she had. However, most of them were sad, harsh lessons she had to learn through her own experiences "My favorite story, is one that my father used to tell me. It was about a princess, but surely you wouldn't be interested in that" she teased. Most young toms wanted action stories, not stories about princesses and love "I wanted to be like her when I was younger" she purred
Coyotekit really didn't care about the kind of story all that much. Littlestar was so kind and everything, he just wanted to hear her favorite story, even if it might bore him a little bit. "I wanna hear that story! I'm sure its gonna be a fun one!" He slithered forward and rested his head on one of her forelegs. "Sooo what was the princess like? Was she like you? What did she look like?" He had grown up with stories about cats like Mittens the Savior of Cat-Kind and Lionspirit the Righteous. He aspired to be like them someday, and have his own place in DayClan's history.
