Out hunting to feed all of the clan first and knowing that she'd be left with only scraps, if any, was a task she'd grown numb to. Yet, it was a task she had to do and more importantly, it gave Fallenpaw some time to herself. She didn't need to be constantly supervised or punished to serve her clan well, even with all that had happened to her. She knew there were little rewards in being obedient and accepting her fate, and doing as she was told had become a habit at this point. Although those habits always threatened to slip away when she was alone like she was now, practically free from the torment her family faced. The air tasted sweeter, carrying with it a promise of a better future. It tempted her forward, to WinterClan's borders every time. Today, it was the one they shared with FallClan. Her mismatched eyes followed the treeline on the other side, spotting every subtle difference in their territories that she could and knowing more obvious ones were hidden deep within. Even the scentmarkers of the other clan smelled different, somehow softer than what she was used to.
I could leave right now. No one would probably notice... or care. She leaned forward, daring herself to take the chance. Then she stopped. However little her family may care for her, Fallenpaw loved them and she wouldn't leave unless she knew they were safe. Ears lowering in defeat, the she-cat turned away from the border and took a few steps in the direction where her fresh-kill lie in wait, safely buried under the snow.

He hated winter. Hated it. Prey was so much harder to find, and the temperature became so much colder. The new warrior trudged through the snow, and though it wasn't deep, every step seemed harder than the next. Ravensfrost shook his coat, his black fur having grown a bit thicker in order to adapt to the change in weather, as he growled softly to himself. He had always been restless, taking more trips outside of the camp than any of his other clanmates did. Vixensong had told him it was because he was a loner at heart, as she was. Ravensfrost didn't want to believe his sister. He loved being in Fallclan, loved being a clan cat. It wasn't his fault there seemed to never be enough for him to do.
The young warrior hadn't been paying attention to where he was going. If he was, he probably would have noticed the icy rocks that blocked his path. If he had been paying attention he wouldn't have stepped on the icy surface and wouldn't have slipped as he put all his weight behind his paw. But he wasn't paying attention, and with a startled yowl tumbled down the snowy slope, landing with a huff right beside the Winterclan border. Flurryofstars

Jumping in alarm at the sudden yowl, Fallenpaw turned in the air so that as she landed she faced the source of the noise. She wasn't at all prepared to see a black ball of fur rolling down the slope on FallClan's side of the border, until it eventually stopped right at the invisible line between the two territories. Only a few tail-lengths away from each other, the she-cat noticed the furball was actually a cat, though she had her suspicions of that much earlier. Inhaling also confirmed the tom was from FallClan, but she couldn't tell if he was an apprentice or a warrior. Did he slip? The thought almost made her giggle, but she shook away most of the amusement and stepped over to him.
"Are you alright?" she asked with a twinkle in her mismatched eyes--One baby-doll emerald and the other, reptillian and amber.

(Flurryofstars, I am so sorry, life kinda just threw me for a loop >.<)
Ravensfrost let out a soft groan as he rolled onto his stomach. The black-coated tom cat held his head in his paw, carefully rubbing his cheek and eye before looking up at the other cat. Great... he can't believe he embarrassed himself in front of someone... and a she-cat no less. He glared up towards the top of the hill, curling his lip a bit before he stood up. The Fallclan warrior turned his attention towards the she-cat and instantly perked a bit when he caught sight of her eyes. He had never seen anything like it before. They were... absolutely mesmerizing. Ravensfrost hadn't realized he was staring until a soft breeze tickled his fur. He quickly cleared his throat and offered her a sheepish smile.
"Oh... yea, I'm okay." He said quickly. "A lot more startled than hurt."

(It's okay! My first reply was waaaay slower!)
Fallenpaw was relieved to see him stand up okay. While the cat's tumble had been funny to witness, it had been a long way down and it wouldn't have surprised her if he'd broken a bone or two. Luckily, that didn't seem to be the case. Perhaps he'd hit his head though, because he was very obviously staring at her. And not in a "I'm staring at you because you're from another clan and therefore my enemy" kind of way. So, needless to say, his answer didn't fully convince her.
"Are you sure? I'm no medicine cat, but you looked really out of it just now," she mewed as she made to step over the border to him. Her paw was hovering on the other side of the scent marker, when she realized what she was doing and slowly brought it back. It couldn't be normal to care about the wellbeing of a cat from another clan. "Umm... Did you happen to hit your head or?"

“Hit my head?” Ravensfrost echoed. The young warrior rubbed the back of his head with his paw. There was a bit of a bump forming between his ears, but he didn’t think he had hit his head that hard. He offered the Winterclan apprentice a quick smile as he placed his paw back down on the frozen ground. “I’m flattered by the concern, but I got a bit of a hard head as my sister tells me. It’ll take a lot more than a slip down some hill to do any real damage. My pride on the other hand is a bit bruised.” He said jokingly.
“Anyway...” The Fallclan tom said, glancing at her once again. He couldn’t help it. He was mesmerized by her eyes. “My name is Ravensfrost. I figured it’s only polite to introduce myself after nearly sliding right into your paws.”

His sense of humor made her smile and even let out a small birdsong tune of laughter. Hearing the noise come from herself startled her for a moment, and the sound ended abruptly. Moons of abuse and prejudice taught her happiness was a feeling undeserved for someone like her. A sensation of guilt swept through her, threatening to have her on her way back to WinterClan even while the tom was mid-sentence. No. It's not like it would change anything anyway. She took a calming breath and as their eyes briefly met again, her smile returned.
"Well, hello Ravensfrost. I'm glad that you're okay and that your head was hard enough to save you," she mewed in amusement. "My name's Fallenpaw."

(Flurryofstars I am so sorry, I got caught up with IRL stuff again >.< also awesome icon btw)
It seemed that her eyes weren’t the only mesmerizing thing about the she-cat. Ravensfrost quickly became entranced by her laughter. It was like the song of a blackbird in the early morning. Light, but beautiful. It seemed as though Starclan had wanted him to fall down that small hill. They must have wanted him to meet her, and he was starting to become glad that he did.
“Fallenpaw,” Ravensfrost said, bowing down a bit dramatically as he looked up at her with a smile. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. Sorry it had to be in such a... weird way, I guess.” He said with another chuckle. “I’m usually not so clumsy, but leaf-bare seems to be a life long enemy of mine.”
