The moon was barely visible in the sky as Marvelcanvas crossed over the border into MoonClan territory. They had been planning this almost immediately after being driven out of their home. Of course Marvelcanvas hadn't been the acting cardinal when that happened. Shortly after Rasalas had made her deputy he had run off and no one had seen or heard from him since. Her loyalties had been divided at the time but seeing how hard MoonClan had worked to rebuild a home in a strange land with only minimal complaining gave the former SunClan janus a weird twinge of compassion for the clan she had been raised to see as her enemy. She couldn't say for sure at what point exactly she had started to root for them but as the only cat left to lead them she knew she had to regain their place beside the other forest clans.
As her patrol made there way through the territory she noticed even she seemed to relax being back on MoonClan's rightful territory though she hadn't lived there long it was still more familiar to than the ruins of BrookClan's old home and as she lead the way to their camp she couldn't help but reflect on how much SunClan had outnumbered them. The smart thing to do would of been to get back up, but she hadn't done the smart thing, instead she had elected to do the rash thing as usual.
"Cats of SunClan!" her voice rang out across what seemed to be a somewhat vacant clearing of MoonClan's old camp, and she had to keep herself from looking around for the SunClan warriors. She would of been more concerned had she not remembered most of her now rival clan would be sound asleep in their nests by now. At least they had one advantage. "We have come to reclaim our home! If you leave now no harm with come to you!" Feeling more confident the cardinal lead her patrol into the center of the camp as she waited for her brother to emerge from her den.
An attack like this was risky. Carvedsnow could feel her father tense at her side, could smell his fear scent clinging to his coat despite every attempt to hide it. She wished she knew how to reassure him, but one look and she knew Snowshod was more worried about his kits than anything else. They were all grown warriors, more than capable of looking after themselves, but he was still terrified of losing them. Their family was a sorry sight, deaf, one-eyed, and lopsided, but she was proud of them all the same. Carvedsnow knew each and every one of her siblings would fight with everything they had when it came down to it.
His dark fur fluffed up against the night sky, Summershadow was still and silent as he waited for the enemy to emerge. This was his camp, these were his dens, and his heart filled with rage at the thought of the sun-loving cats stealing it away from them. No longer! They would end this now, permanently. He was ready for a fight.

Even with her brother gone, Abaddon remained in Moonclan. Now silently walking next to the new leader, her eyes glazed over as she waited. There was no nostalgia for her in these lands. And she was smart enough to know this was a fool's mission. But she still came along, probably for the thrill of it all. The black and white she-cat's tail flicked behind her, just waiting for the moment when one of them would strike.

Scorchedwhisker had quickly emerged from the warrior's den. How many times had he dreamt about earning his place there as an apprentice during his time in Moonclan? It seemed like a cruel twist of fate that he would sleep there now considering the fact that they didn't even belong in this camp. But now, Selene had led her clan back to their home and they all looked ready to take it back. Scorchedwhisker narrowed his blue eyes as he watched them gather into the center of the clearing. If Bloodystar was smart, he wouldn't pick a fight with them. They were stronger now, and Sunclan had been weakened considerably thanks to the events of the blue moon
"Hey!" Watermelonkit's red-furred tail stuck straight in the air as he went to investigate, although he was unsteady on his paws, tripping a little bit. Regardless, the little tom eventually made his way up to Marvelcanvas, not an ounce of detectable fear in his scent, "I'm Watermelonkit, my favorite color is red, what's yours?"
The flame point's ear twitched in annoyance as she regarded the kit. It wasn't his fault he didn't know to be afraid but, it was just like Bloodystar to raise kits to be idiotically brave. Though part of her admired his bravery, knowing that one of her own kits was exactly the same way.
“Who’s that?” Boysenberrykit bounded out after his brother. He was a tad more steady on his feet than his brother though no by much. “Your not SunClan.” He wrinkled his nose at the new scent, though it did remind him of how this camp smelled in the hidden places most cats avoided. “Why are you here?” His tone was slightly accusatory, he clearly was his father’s son in attitude.

Anemoneshade was woken up by the wild yell of a familiar voice. So... that's where Ruinedportrait went. With Moonclan. To take back their lands. She wouldn't admit the relief she felt at the idea of going home, and gently stirred each of her kits. "We'll be going on an adventure soon." She purred to them. While she hoped Bloodystar wouldn't put up a fight, she wasn't gonna fight them either way. Now she had 5 bundles of joy to watch over. Wait...5? She was missing two. The lilac queen stood up, looking frantically around until she heard Watermelonkit's voice.
"Oh Sun God why." She muttered to herself. "You stay here alright." Anemoneshade told the rest of them, but they had been a rambunctious bunch since they could walk. Out of everyone in Sunclan, she didn't wanna be the first to face Moonclan, but her kits left her little choice as she stepped out of the nursery. "Watermelonkit, Boysenberrykit." She approached more cautiously then her blase sons, dipping her head to the group. There was a chance, a small one, that they would attack. But Anemoneshade found herself more nervous about being in the crossfire. "This is Moonclan. And this is their home. Let's get back with the others and we can go on a night adventure, okay?"
"That's nice. Like lilacs!" Watermelonkit replied, cocking his head at Marvelcanvas. It looked like he was about to ask another question - probably the dreaded why - but he was distracted by Boysenberrykit at his shoulder. He gave his brother a smile and opened his mouth to say hello but was cut off bye Anemoneshade's discovery of their short adventure, "We'd better go, Boysey. Nice meeting you flower kitty!" With that, he bounded back to her side, surprisingly obedient for one so young.
Bloodystar arrived. The red-furred leader didn't look surprised in the least to see his sister leading a patrol of MoonClan cats back into their camp. He approached Marvelcanvas regardless with his head and tail held high, overconfident as always, "Ruinedportrait. What is the meaning of this?"
He knew that the Ray was serving in MoonClan, but he didn't expect her to have so quickly risen up the ranks to the point where she was leading a patrol. Bloodystar had to remind himself that he was dealing with MoonClan. In the past year they'd had three leaders, the first a cat that was barley more than a kitten, the two following absolute outsiders from the start who walked in and said "mine." The Moon Goddess was a fool. Of course she'd put Ruinedportrait in such a position.
Still, leading a patrol was one thing, leading a patrol into SunClan's temporary camp without advanced warning was another. Ruinedportait was supposed to be a spy. That was the real question he was asking her. Bloodystar narrowed his eyes at Ruinedportrait and pin-pricks of doubt began to cloud his mind.

Lionpride stayed close by his mate and twelve kits, giving a small nod to Honeystorm who was already slipping out of the nursery out into the clearing at the entrance and sitting down. His big wide baby blue eyes scanning the clearing taking in the current situation.
Burntpheonix pushed his way out of the warriors den, unable to help himself for looking for his ex amoungst the moonclan crowd... Hoping that this wouldn't come down to a fight.
THE BATTLE STARTS HERE! Bloodystar's patience was thin and Ruinedportait didn't reply fast enough to satisfy him. He had figured it out. She'd turned against him, against the Sun God, and was in league with the Moon Goddess now. He felt laughter bubbling in the back of his throat and crushed it, it was his own fault that this happened, without the light of the Sun God in his sister's heart the Moon Goddess had twisted her soul same as she had Autumngossamer and Littlecrow.
He took a step away from the MoonClan patrol and surveyed his camp. There were many young kits and wounded Warriors, but MoonClan had been suffering too, he could tell by the hungry expressions on their faces. Still, a part of him knew that they wouldn't win this fight, but he couldn't pass up this chance to kill Ruinedportait for her betrayal.
"SunClan! MoonClan has come to kick us while we are down... so... we will give them a taste of what it means to be the Sun God's chosen! Janus, evacuate those too young or wounded to fight, everyone else, attack!" With the declaration he launched himself at his sister's throat with the intention to kill. @samiam
Discordantmelody, always one to love a good fight, was among the first of her clanmates to launch herself at the "intruders." She was giddy with excitement and also humor, Bloodystar was so predictable! She went after whoever was closest to her, which turned out to be Carvedsnow, "Hey cutie, aren't you a little too young to be playing with the big cats?" Cleaver
Honestkit started shaking when he heard cats screaming outside, he hadn't ever heard a battle cry before. He leaned into Lionpride's side and whimpered, "Can you make that stop? It hurts my ears!" racer
Boysenberrykit let out a cry as Discordantmelodu jumped over him to attack Carvedsnow. He flattened himself to the ground and slowly slunk away. With his mottled lilac fur he almost blended into the dirt of the camp. This was so not fun, he had thought battles were supposed to be glorious shows of the night of the Sun God. Instead the rough and ragged SunClan cats seemed to be worn down. The opposition, MoonClan, looked thin but clearly seemed to be in better shape. Fearing for his safety he looked for a place to hide.
Cramming himself amongst some rocks, his closed his eyes trying block this out. The rocks poked into his sides and his breathing was panicking. Boysenberry would definitely be listening to his mother after this, provided he made it through. He searched his mind for any prayer to the Sun God he knew and ran through them over and over. Clearly his Father’s beloved god would protect him.

Troublemaker's orange fur bristled outwards, as he streaked forward at the sound of the attacking coming face to face with Abaddon. He had to admit that she was pretty cute for a MoonClan she-cat "Hey there hot stuff" he purred, blocking her path. His blue eyes shimmered "Its a shame we are having to meeting under such conditions" he chuckled "Your pretty cute! How about you sheathe your claws and the two of get out of here" he winked strawberrycupid
Lionpride's eyes were gazing towards the entrance when one of his sons spoke. He rasped his tongue over his ears "It will be over soon" he comforted gently, waiting on some news from up above "Just hold on a little longer"
"Where did Boysenberrykit go?" Watermelonkit asked Anemoneshade, cocking his head. His pupils were slightly dilated but otherwise he seemed calm given the circumstances. He was doing his best to be brave for his mama, "He just disappeared out of thin air!" strawberrycupid
"Okay..." Honestkit did not seem very convinced, but he would trust Lionpride, what other option did he have? The little black tom wrapped his tail tightly around his paws and tried to hum a simple tune to block out the sounds of fighting outside. An untrained ear may mistake it for purring. racer
The flame-point she cat might of been too calm coming into this. She had hoped, foolishly at that, Bloodyrondo would see sense in the fact that for once MoonClan had the upperhand over SunClan. However slight it may be it was a chance and they needed this win. Too focused on choosing her words carefully for once Bloodyrondo had moved to strike, luckily for her the recent moons she'd spent in the nursery hadn't dulled her reflexes, she narrowly jumped back just out of reach of his bite. With an angry hiss she launched herself at her litter-mate, wrapping her forelegs around his neck in an attempt to throw him to the ground. Jadie
Bloodystar managed to maneuver his shoulder into Ruinedportait's chest, pushing her back a tail-length with brute strength, giving himself just enough time to get back to his feet. Already he could feel warmth of spilled blood, his blood, trickle down his shoulder. It just fueled his anger and he slashed out wildly, feeling his sister's own blood coating his paws, but also leaving his underbelly exposed because he kept rearing up on his hind legs, "Cat's still got your tongue!?" He taunted as they traded blows, trying to make an opening.
Whisperwisp was never one for fighting, though that didn't stop her from tailing the patrol being led by Marvelcanvas into MoonClan's former territory.
The she-cat slithered through the trees as she tried to keep up with the patrol, all the while simultaneously keeping herself hidden so they wouldn't catch wind of her following them. It wasn't that she couldn't join the patrol - she definitely could - but she didn't want to put herself out there like that. Whisperwisp always kept to herself, and Selene. It was no surprise she was chosen as a bishop, due to her dedication to Selene, and she always put out the aura of an abyss that caused cats around her to shrink away. Especially given her history.
But, she could not stop her worrying from moving her paws in front of each other. Marvelcanvas was chosen as Cardinal for a reason, and she could feel it, deep within her bones. Selene always has a purpose, and right now that laid within Marvelcanvas. 'Protect her at all costs,' A voice inside her head stated with a whisper, and she nodded in agreement. Though Whisperwisp wasn't one for heroics, she would give her life to protect Marvelcanvas. It is what Selene wanted.
As they reached their old camp, and the commotion quickly turned into battle, Whisperwisp slipped into the clearing. She stuck mostly to the shadows, watching the exchange between her leader and Bloodyrondo, her claws unsheathed just in case. She was going to stay out of this for the most part, but if it appeared that Bloodyrondo was going to come out on top, she would jump in with no hesitation.
Bathed in the light of Selene's grace, he looked outright monstrous: Twisted and horrendously scarred features were a pale, ghastly white pulled back to reveal fangs even more pallid and menacing, whereas the rest of Phantomfox's body was sheathed in shadows. He prowled behind Marvelcanvas and in between his clanmates, but as the battle commenced, he lunged directly into the fray, reigniting the malice that slumbered in his heart. He barreled down upon the first cat that slipped into his sights, intercepting Discordantmelody on her attempt to attack Carvedsnow. "I love being called cute. Makes me feel ten moons younger." His snarl ripped through his vocal chords, a broken and rumbling sound, as he lowered his body in preparation of his strike. Jadie

This would be his first battle as Archbishop. Subaru rolled his shoulders back in their sockets as the storm of cats broke around him. He kept one eye on Marvelcanvas as he slunk around to find a target. He wanted to keep close to the cardinal at all times. His thin body was easy to weave between the fighting cats. A part of him wanted to hurl himself at Bloodystar just to wipe that smug look off his maw, but he knew Marvelcanvas could handle herself.
