Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
for the purposes of this thread we're pretending swift and summer are still neighbors, i guess xD just going back in time a bit
Chim sighed deeply as he walked along clan borders, keeping several paces away from the scent line. After so many moons in a clan that didn't mark their borders, he had forgotten how strong the smell could be when you were stuck standing next to it. Had it really been that long since he was in a proper clan? It had been nearly a year now since he was exiled from SummerClan, but it felt like another lifetime. And now he was facing another big change: a move away from the clans entirely. He was going to take his clan and leave, possibly for good.
But he couldn't leave without indulging in a walk down memory lane. SummerClan felt like the right place for it. He'd found family and love here, made great friends, and butted heads restlessly with his leaders until one of them finally took the initiative to drive him out. He probably deserved that, but his fur ruffled at the thought. "At least Ratstar has a solid head on his shoulders," Chim muttered aloud. He hated to leave the one ally he had, but the old tom would understand.
Things had been good for the two brothers since they had come to SummerClan. As much as they had wanted, the nomadic warriors was not the place for them. And as much as it had killed Whiteperch to leave him once again, it had to be done. It had been the dead of night, Blightbone had been pestering him for over a moon at that point about leaving, that this was not their home. And no matter how much he had loved the ginger furred tom, Whiteperch had to leave Chim behind. So they left, leaving only their scent behind. Whiteperch had told and told himself that he would never see the one-eyed tom again, leaving only the memory of his scent to comfort his aching heart.
So it was when the little white and brown tom was out hunting he came across that scent that stopped him dead in his tracks. No, no, no, the words chanted over in his head. There is no way. Things were good in SummerClan, they had a home with water and warmth that they and grown to love, as close to WaterClan that they could get. He turned on his heel, shaking his head as if to rid him from the scent. It had to be his imagination. But then the cool winter wind blew past him once more, sending his knees shaking. Standing on top on a winter grey grass covered knoll, he looked down towards the border and saw the flame colored fur flickering through the dead grass.
I'M SO SORRY i wrote up a post and it didn't send and then i forgot it never sent ;-;
Chim's fur instinctively began to prickle as he felt eyes on him. He wasn't sure what made him aware of the other cat's presence: maybe he heard him or saw a flash of fur in the corner of his eye. Now he slowed his step and looked around, craning his neck to examine every hillock and suspicious bush until he finally spotted a cat watching him. White fur, small and walking straight out of his memory. No, it couldn't be.
The distance between them forgotten, Chim looked Whiteperch right in the eye.
Before he had made the conscious decision to move, his body was carrying him across the gap of its own accord. Long, confident strides carried him close, hungrily eating up the space between them, and he didn't dare believe his eyes until they were only a few feet apart. And it was Whiteperch, it had to be, he would never forget that face. He slowed down and watched him uncertainly.
