Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Ananassa Starkfield halted at the border, scanning the area. Finding what she wanted she set down the kit she was carrying in a fallen log. It was a sheltered area that would protect the young kits while they waited for a patrol to pass by. If she recalled the Regime was hostile to outsiders and extremely territorial. So it would be best to wait, even if her impressions were based on the Regime she had left years ago. Now she was returning to perhaps her last chance at a place in a group. As much as she tried she just kept failing at creating her own group and she need the support a group could offer. Her eldest daughter had died and left her with a litter of kits. Fortunately she had known a queen who was nursing at the time and helped.
Now though the kits were old enough to travel without a wet nurse and she perhaps needed help raising them. Ananassa had only lost her beloved mate the week before. She had been overtaken with a cloud of grief and her children had tried their best to get her to function again. So she did what she did best and planned. She planned to join the Regime, find a new path in life.
Symphorosa set down her kit next to the others, before stepping up next to her mother. The whole group, four adults and four kits, were clearly related. All were various shades of black and white with at least one blue eye. She had never lived in any of these forest groups, usually only part of her mother’s various gangs. So she was particularly excited to see what all the fuss was about. Now though the waiting was a bit boring for the excitable she-cat
"So this is Regime territory, huh? Quite different from the city," Axiom hated the silence that hung heavy in the air, so he put himself to the task of breaking it. There had been a dread hanging over the family on this entire trip. After losing two integral members back to back, the question on everyone's mind had been 'Who's next?' Deciding to go on this journey certainly didn't help ease tensions. So, yeah, Axiom was going to try and be chatty and optimistic, especially if no one else was, "It's... nice! Very... cold, a snowy, but there's no twolegs, and I bet lots of food!"
Shaking out his coat as he was placed down inside the sheltered log, he turned in a small circle to stretch his limbs, all the while his gaze turned upward. There wasn't much of a view from inside here! After being carried so long, he felt a little sleepy, but his excitement at this new place was beginning to burn through the tired fog. They were stopping!
Isador braced his paws against the side of the log, testing its strength. Maybe he could climb out! But would it help? The ceiling arched high above him, and if he jumped he nearly hit his head. Frowning a little, the fluffy kit turned back to his siblings.
A blue gaze reminiscent of sapphires sinking below dark watery depths leveled their presence on their littermate. Despite the clear judgment that exuded from the black and white tom, not a single emotion was evident in those cold orbs.
“Why?” The question was simple enough, but it held a disapproving air. “We’ve been placed here for a reason. Would you defy a clear attempt at keeping us safeguarded to satiate your curiosity? Is it worth the consequence?”
Vas’ka never claimed to be a normal child and seemed to spend his days trying to separate himself from his littermates. In this situation, that wasn’t an option. He prized intelligence over emotional vulnerability. It meant he kept a clear head and only chose the most logical of paths, no matter the emotional toll it took on others.
In that way, perhaps he would grow to be a merciless, unfeeling tom indeed.

Nerissa rolled her eyes at her brother Vas'ka's comment, "Look you can sit around here staring at the walls of the log if you want to, but I want to go see our new home" she looked to Isador with a big grin "If you come here I can stand on top of you and try to climb out without the adults noticing" they all seemed rather preoccupied looking around for the regime cats to notice if one of them tried to sneak off "Then i can find something to help you climb out to!" she was quite proud of her little plan, as flawed as it was. She just wanted to know what this new place looked like, and they were not going to find out inside of here "Then we can go play in the snow!"

Sapphire and honey eyes held the emotion of fear. "I think I will stay here." Leland whispered quietly under his breath barely loud enough for anyone to hear. The idea of leaving the safety of the log and stepping out into the unknown terrified him, but he also didn't want to be left in the log by himself.
"Is it safe?" He asked his voice rising loud enough enough for his siblings to here. As he considered Nerissa's idea of going and playing in the snow the idea seems fun to him.

"Is anything really safe?" answered Nerissa "Your heart could stop beating right now for no reason" she retorted looking upwards and standing on her back legs to see if she could read the lip of the opening "The adults are near by so if we run into trouble all we would have to do is call and they would be right there. I don't see why it would be any more dangerous than being stuck in here where snow could fall in and bury us"

Ananassa looked over at her son, glad that he seemed to have a positive outlook on their new life. It would definitely make life easier for him. Of course the rest of her kids had agreed to this, the only ones here who did make the choice was the kittens. But they were to young yet to make life choices for themselves. “It’s a well ordered group, everything will be taken care of.”
It had been many moons since she was last around these cats and that had been the failed Republic. The failure was probably due to the old Avalon Everlasting cats taking charge and not letting others help rule. But from what she heard a strong willed she-cat was in charge who didn’t let others step on her. That was exactly the type of cat Ananassa could get behind.
“I’m up for anything.” Symphorosa nudged her brother. It would be nice to not have to worry about taking care of everything, here everyone had their desperate jobs. Which was good as Symphorosa was a poor fighter and an even worse healer. Slowly looked around she began to step away slightly from her family. She wanted to explore this new place but sadly knew it would be best to wait.
Petrichor, for his part, stood off to the side, mostly scowling. As usual, the tom was serious, though to his family it was probably obvious he was trying his best to avoid getting sucked into playtime with his niece and nephews. When anyone could show up at any moment.. now wasn't the time to play.
As chance would have it, a cat approached them, wearing a friendly smile as he did so. Lex had been out hunting near the border, when he spotted the group. He had no idea anything about Avalon Everlasting, beyond some stories, of course. Nor the significance of the name these cats would carry. The large silver tabby tom twitched his tail in a greeting as he stopped in front of the cats. He could hear the kits in the log, and his eyes were drawn to where they resided for a moment before settling on Ananassa, who seemed to be the eldest of the group. "Looking for the Regime?" The Scout questioned, tilting his head. "If not, that's where you've found yourselves." Compared to most, Lex wasn't exactly the picture of a Regime cat. He was far less militaristic, and far more open and kind to strangers.
The tom narrowed his eyes marginally before exiting the log without any warning, partially — deeply — curious about where they were and the strangers that met with their family, but also partially frustrated with the behavior of his siblings. Either do or do not, sitting and talking about it was a waste of time and energy.
"Wow, another cat! I was starting to think we may have taken a wrong turn, no offense, mom," Axiom said with a smile and half laugh, he was doing his best to diffuse the tension that some of his other family was spreading. The black and white tom stepped toward Lex and bowed his head to the Regime cat in respect, "I'm Axiom Starkfield, actually we're all Starkfields. We are looking to join the Renegade Regime."

Lex nodded slightly at the tom who chose to address him, offering a warm grin that countered the cold landscape in return. "Well then, Sir and Madam Starkfields, you should come along with me and I'll get you an audience with Commander Shule." He waved them without hesitance across the border to follow him. "I'm Lex, one of the Regime's Scouts. What brings you to the Regime over the other clans or groups?"
He didn't wait more than a few moments for them to collect themselves and then get moving through the land on expert paws, knowing each and every nook and cranny by now.

"Hey, Mom's never led us wrong before." Symphorosa frowned slightly at her brother. Yet she knew he was joking, after all, Ananassa had taught them nearly everything they knew. She was fiercely protective of her family even if all but the kits(and probably Axiom) could take care of themselves. She eyed the stranger warily, there had been very few strangers in her life. Yet she followed him because that is what her family was doing.
"I'm Ananassa Starkfield, the daughter of Cyto. I spent a brief time with the Regime after the fall of Avalon Everlasting, when it was known as the Republic. Now my family and I need a safe home, not to mention help raising my grandkits." The matriarch took lead, matching pace with Lex while her children herded the kits. Clearly they needed to walk a bit if they were going to sleep at all tonight.
