Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Now Leopardkit, all the cool kits are doing it, so go on."
The spotted kit trembled a little, but if all the cool kits were in on it, she couldn't back out now. In her jaws was a bundle of half-smashed berries that would assist in her task, and Leopardkit slowly crept into the Trusted's den to where a sleeping Dancingdragon lay unaware. She was mostly done with her mission when one beady, gold-flecked eye flashed open and fixated a dangerous stare on the unwitting kitten. The white cat gave herself a once-over to find her pelt smattered with jellies of all colors, and suddenly the camp's peaceful quiet was shattered by an ear-piercing "I'm going to get you for this, Leopardkit!"
The kit in question was already half way across camp, fleeing for her life.
Adderkit was doing a little bit more exploring on her own, having only gone at least twenty feet away from camp. She wouldn't go far, she had promised Dancingdragon that she wouldn't leave camp at all since the last time she had, she almost got eaten by a fox. Thankfully, her adopted mother was there to save the day. Adderkit had only been in the clan for almost two moons now, though she had grown attached to Dancingdragon quickly. She was the only one who would ever hold conversations with Adderkit, anyways; the poor she-kit was seen as abrasive by most of the other kits in the nursery, and so she hadn't made any friends yet.
The copper-colored kit was currently pawing at the ground, trying to soothe her bored mind, when Dancingdragon's voice had shouted out in anger. Adderkit couldn't quite make out what she was saying, but the tone of her mother's voice made her heart speed up. With a gasp, Adderkit shot towards camp, terrified that Dancingdragon was mad at her for sneaking out of camp again. As she came barreling into camp, she didn't have enough time to register another small-furred force coming her way. The two kits collided with each other, and Adderkit let out a gasp of surprise as her head smacked against the other's.
Adderkit's world spun around her as she laid on her back, gazing up at the sky. With a grunt, she slowly sat up, and glared at the kit she had ran into. "What do you-" She began, but then she noticed as Dancingdragon approached the two, her once white pelt now colored with berries. Adderkit snorted one, two, three times before bursting out in laughter, nearly doubling over from how much her giggles shook her body. "Y-y-your fuurrrrr!!!" She cackled, tears springing to her eyes.
"Ow ow ow." The dazed kit teetered back onto her haunches in the wake of the impact, rubbing the growing bruise on her head. She didn't have much time to register what happened, or who this lookalike was, or why she was laughing before she felt the hot breath of Dancingdragon whistling against the nape of her neck, and Leopardkit jumped behind Adderkit, effectively using her as a meatshield. "I-I'm sorry! Raggedpaw and Coralpaw dared me to do it!" Even as she said it, she knew it sounded like a flimsy fib.
Dancingdragon, though her temper was flaring wildly, couldn't help the fact that it began to smolder and die down at the sight of Adderkit's amusement. For a cat who'd long sworn off the possibility of motherhood, she did love the kit as much as she would were they related, something that surprised even the Trusted. "Just don't do it again. You need to act right if you want to become an apprentice," she warned the kitten, but Dancingdragon didn't spare much more time on the matter than that. She gently touched her nose to Adderkit's head before prowling towards the camp entrance to find a stream where she could wash the juices from her pelt.
Leopardkit adopted a look of sheer confusion. "I thought she was gonna kill me. How'd ya do that, huh?" This kit must have been magical or something to divert the wrath of SpringClan's white dragon.
Adderkit beamed up at Dancingdragon, the smile on her face so pure and bright that it rivaled the sun's light. She watched with a warm gaze as Dancingdragon walked away, a content sigh leaving her maw. Adderkit had no idea who her biological parents were, or if she had any siblings, but that didn't matter; she had Dancingdragon. Maybe it was fate that had caused her to become alone, for if it weren't for that, she would've never been brought here.
That demeanor quickly changed, though, as Dancingdragon disappeared out of sight. Adderkit slowly turned her head towards Leopardkit, her smile turning into one of mischievousness that screamed she had a juicy secret she to share.
"She's my Ma," The words rolled off her lips with practiced clarity, her expression turning to one of boredom as if the knowledge was a commonly-known fact by now.
And then, the grin returned, but this time it was one of cheerfulness, and laughter began bubbling out of her. "I'm Adderkit! Who are you?" Adderkit chirped, bouncing to her feet and staring at Leopardkit with wide green eyes.
Adderkit's laughter was contagious or something because Leopardkit quickly found herself giggling along like they were sharing some juicy piece of information among themselves. "Really? My ma is Lusterdawn but I don't much look like her. You look a lot like me though! I'm Leopardkit!" She divulged all this in one breath, bouncing a little on her tiny paws, and she regarded her denmate with a mixture of fascination and curiosity. They did look similar, with copper fur kissed by dark spots.
