Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Zooming across the land, flying over fallen logs and tree stumps, nimbly dodging obstacles-- certainly, somebody somewhere was likely to be experiencing that, but it wasn't Raggedpaw for sure.
The brown tabby couldn't walk two feet without stumbling, especially when she was bringing so much prey (two mice) home, which was so heavy she felt like she was going to fall to the ground and never be able to get up again and no one would come find her and she would just die right here in the middle of SpringClan territory and no one would find her until well after her body decomposed, which meant no one would know about her first successful solo hunt. These thoughts in mind, she spat out her prey and plopped down on her haunches dismally. "I can't do it!" She yowled to the heavens. It was a choice between life (leaving her kills behind but making it back to camp alive) or honor (dying like a warrior, providing for her clan)!
Goldengriffon had been making his way towards the gardens, needing a moment to himself and to shrug the responsibility of deputy from his shoulders for a moment. He had started making his way up the stone path when he heard the familiar yowl of his apprentice. Immediately filled with concern the pale tabby abandoned his journey in favor of rushing to Raggedpaw's aid. "Raggedpaw?" He called out. "Raggedpaw! What is it? What's wrong?" He questioned quickly as he made his way towards her
"Oh, Goldengriffon!" Visible relief colored the shades of blue previously tinting her features, and Raggedpaw was suddenly less morose and more optimistic that maybe she would survive this after all. "Thank goodness you came. I was just out hunting and practicing the tricks you taught me, y'know, because yesterday you were all 'Okay Raggedpaw I want you to make sure you practice this a bunch before our next session.'" She mimicked what she thought was a stern expression, retelling of her mentor's words the previous day. "So I caught these two little mice but then I was walking back to camp and my legs were getting tired and my jaw was hurting, and then I just started thinking how I was never gonna get back to camp and I would just wither away and starve out here and no one would even remenber me!"
Goldengriffon had tilted his head as his apprentice wove her tale of woe. The deputy raised a brow, unconsciously sitting down as Raggedpaw continued her small rant. All of this... over a few sore muscles? The pale tabby couldn't hide the amusement in his blue eyes, but he did raise a paw to his mouth as he tried to stifle his laughter. But he couldn't contain it. Goldengriffon let out a short laugh as he shook his head. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry Raggedpaw." He said quickly as he looked upon his apprentice sympathetically. "But I can assure you that you're not going to starve or die out here. You just have a case of sore muscles."
She felt briefly embarrassed as her mentor laughed at her expense, but quickly brightened up when he diagnosed her 'terminal' disease as nothing more than muscle cramps. "Oh! So you think I can really make it back to camp with all this?" Her tail flourished with great, dramatic flair at her "haul," the two measly mice that were sooo heavy. "I was so scared! It's a good thing you showed up just now, Goldengriffon! Man, being a warrior is scary, huh? I thought the other apprentices were just trying to scare us when they talked about the life or death situations. And so soon! It feels like I just became an apprentice, like, a few days ago and here I am, having just experienced near death! Wow. Awesome." Stars twinkled in her eyes, marveling over the wonder of life.
Goldengriffon looked at Raggedpaw fondly as she rambled off again. She was still so innocent. As far as she knew, this would be the best part of being an apprentice. His whiskers twitched as he glanced over his young apprentice. If only she really knew. It was his job to teach her about the hardships, along with the rewards. But the was perhaps a lesson for another day. "Yes, being a warrior is scary indeed. But I can promise you that this is not a life or death situation. I've seen plenty of those, especially during my own apprenticeship."
"Oooooo!" Her interest piqued at his words. "Like what? Did you have to fight a whole pack of rogues off by yourself? Oh, oh, maybe there was a traitor in SpringClan and you had to prove it when no one else would listen?! WAS IT THE LEADER?!?!?!" She spoke faster with each idea, excitement mounting to impossible peaks. "Tell me all about it, pleeeease Goldengriffon? I'll even be quiet for most of it and carry back the prey without any complaining!" Raggedpaw hurriedly grasped the mice in her jaws as demonstration before looking back at him reverently.

The pale tabby didn't try to hide his life as he shook his head. "Alright alright." Goldengriffon said as he quickly ran his nose along her cheek. "Nothing as interesting as that... that is unless badgers are now considered boring." He whispered with a small glint in his blue eyes. The deputy stood back up, outstretching his forepaws forward in a long stretch before he straightened up again. "But, other than that I'm afraid I have no interesting tales to tell." Goldengriffon said with a bit of a dramatic sigh though a smirk played along his muzzle
But where seemingly Goldengriffon brushed these notions off, Raggedpaw whipped around and dropped the prey she'd just picked up. "A badger?! Badgers aren't boring! C'mon, you gotta tell me about it!" She adopted her most pouty face, her eyes wide and pleading, in the same way a beloved pet might beg for scraps.

Goldengriffon chuckled and wrapped a paw around his young apprentice pulling her close as she looked up excitedly at him. "Alright, alright. Say no more." The pale tabby cooed as he sat back down. "Now... where to start.." He commented as he started stroking his chin. Lately, the fur on his chin had begun to grow silver strands of fur on his chin which gave off a salt and pepper effect for a tom so young. "I was a little older than you were, not much. It was a normal day. I was bothering my own mentor at the time with questions I couldn't help but ask. Mainly about the history of Springclan and whether or not we were descended from the clans of ancient times. Nothing had seemed out of place... until the ground began to shake..."
She was about to open her mouth and break her own oath, but his last few words were heavy enough that it snapped closed instantly. Raggedpaw gazed up with wide, glistening eyes, enraptured by his story.

thats the point muahahaahahaha
Goldengriffon took a few steps forward, crouching down dramatically as he continued his dramatic retelling. "It seemed as if Starclan were about to come down from the heavens... when suddenly, with a ferocious roar that shook me down to my bones... a badger burst through the camp entrance, tearing it down into pieces!" The pale tabby leapt forward, landing a nose width away from his apprentice
Raggedpaw shrieked fearfully, gleefully, and dropped to her back as Goldengriffon lunged for her. She felt drawn into his story and felt every moment as if she, too, were living the experience, goosebumps creeping down her spine in anticipation. "What did you do, Goldengriffon?" she wondered aloud, behind a gasp.

“At first, in all honesty, I panicked.” The tom said as he settled back down, wrapping his tail around his paws. “I was frightened, I had never seen a badger before. I had only ever heard stories about them. I never imagined they’d look as intimidating as they did... or smell as bad as they do.” He said with a soft tease. “But, my mentor managed to smack some sense into me... literally”
"Is that where you get it from?" muttered Raggedpaw mostly to herself, recalling one of their last training sessions where Goldengriffon had booped her. But she was still eager to hear the rest of the tale and shuffled closer. "What did you do???"
