Jaggedpuddle rolled his eyes as he looked around at his clanmates lazing about. Didn't they realize that it was about to get colder and they were about to get a lot hungrier? Honestly, what useless fleabags. The young warrior let out a huff of annoyance and decided to go hunting on his own, again. Someone had to work around there.
Shatteredshine was entering the clan's lovely ditch with a squirrel in her jaws, Luckywillow beside her with some moss. The pair were returning from a patrol but they were only lucky enough to find one piece of prey and a few scraps to donate to a nest. She set down the prey and stared at the fresh-kill pile in dismay - it was so empty.
She swallowed a sigh, realizing she would have to go back out. She turned and spotted Jaggedpuddle heading out. She had helped with his training since her father, Chim, had been a rather absent mentor; perking her ears, she hurried toward him. "Mind some company?"

Jaggedpuddle recognized that voice. He clenched his jaw and turned around with an expression that was an over-exaggerated and almost awkward-looking friendly face. “Well, I was actually hoping to take a hunt...alone...” The guilt struck his stomach and he sighed. “But I guess company would be nice.”
Shatteredshine looked around distractedly as she headed his way, expecting she was welcome, and it took a moment for her to process his words. She slowed her steps and turned to study his face more intently, her own softening in response to what she found there.
"If we're both going hunting, we'll have to walk together at least part of the way there. How about we walk down together and then split up and hunt alone? I won't overstay my welcome," she assured him gently. "You're a warrior now, you don't need your old mentor hanging around watching you."
