Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Raichi backed up a few steps until his back paws touched the edge of the roof. He crouched down against it, focusing, taking a deep breath to steel his nerves. Then he surged forward, finding the edge of the other side of the group and leaping up spectacularly. His forepaws caught the end and his body swung against the wall. He grunted at the impact and his grip started to slip, but he managed to hold on, and kicking off the wall pulled himself up to the roof.
His sides heaved as he puffed for breath, then moved further away from the edge to look around it. The climb up was dangerous, arduous, and probably not worth it - but the view from up here was spectacular. Raichi was on the top of the world, and the Combatant felt the mist swirl past his coat, ruffling his fur. He smiled, staring over the streets far below and the church rising up in the distance. Everything looked so small from here.
"EH?" A small ball of matted gray fur hopped up and became alert at the sound of the voice of another cat. Rex had climbed to the roof under the instruction of the voices that consistently plagued his conscience. They had told him if he had taken a nap in this specific spot, a flying fish would tell him who the spy in Absum Lux was when he awoke. Rex was the madman of the charged. No one quite knew what was wrong with him, and often kept their distance in fear of being stuck in a confusing conversation. "Is you the fish?" Rex hissed, his yellow eyes locked on Raichi.
Rex. Silently cursing to himself for being the one cat to find the errant Charged, he pushed down his irritation and smiled patiently at the little tom. What was he going on about this time? "I'm really more of a feather," he answered dryly, cautiously taking a few steps back away from the other cat.
The gray cat continued to shake. His golden eyes did not dare blink to lose sight of the potential spy. "So you fell from'a bird, eh?" He said wearily. "If you fell from'a bird, you may not realize is was'a fish with feathas," Rex immediately stood from his lying position, the dreads and curly loose hairs on his pelt standing up. "Tell me, does it tell you who?"
Well, he hadn't really thought about it that was - but it did make sense, in a completely insane and nonsensical way. But he was named for a feather, and his mentor had been named after a bird. A fish with feathers, though? He decided to go along with it so they could get this over with. "Not quite," Raichi replied with a shake of his head. "That bird barely taught me how to hunt, much less anything else."
