Darkpaw shuffled through the herbs her and Fairytalepaw had gathered to prepare for the coming leaf-bare. She let out a grunt of disapproval at the sad little piles, wondering if Brakewings had any more luck than they did. It didn't help that Fairytalepaw had been extra distracting on their hunt for plants. There was no denying he was not the annoying little awkward furball anymore. They both were growing up and time had been kind on him. However, Darkpaw had no time or desire to get smitten over that cat. She refused to let herself fall for any cat, but especially that one. He would always be a pain in her tail.
She shook her head to clear the pesky thoughts before exiting the den. Maybe another search would be helpful. This time she would go alone, or so she thought...

"Want some help?" It hadn't been long since Goldenstar had taken power... and promptly demoted Brakewings, only to replace the tom with Ebonygold and Vixenkismet at Darkpaw and Fairytalehunt's teachers. And it was the ex-tyrant who Darkpaw had happened upon today. The fox-furred feline tilted her head at the younger she-cat, waiting for an answer.

Darkpaw had always admired the vixen she-cat, but the fact that she had replaced Brakewings along with Ebonygold just didn't sit right with her. Brakewings was easy to run over and less observant than the average cat. However, she offered a twitch of her whiskers in greeting before pointing with her tail to their pile. "We didn't get a whole lot of useful herbs earlier so I figured I would take another trip out." She offered, leaving out the reason why. It wasn't important information for her new mentor to know anyways.

Should Vixenkismet question why the apprentice didn't get enough herbs earlier? Probably. Did she? No. She didn't care, ultimately. Or maybe it was that the she-cat was still preoccupied with her own mind and didn't have the energy to spare combing through another's life. Regardless, she gave a short nod. "What do we need?"
