Growing up in Winterclan, warmth wasn’t necessarily something she was accustomed to. Even curled up between the bodies of her clanmates, the bitter cold winds always managed to find a way into her bones. Flickeringflames was always moving around in an attempt to keep the cold away. But now, the normally active she-cat was sitting in the middle of their new camp clearing. Her tail twitched every so often as she stared at the small hot spring. There must have been more somewhere around here if there was one in the middle of their camp. But were they safe? No one seemed to know. She hadn’t seen anyone dipping their paws in or sinking into it. No one seemed brave enough. Or, in Flickeringflames’ case, foolish enough. The dark chestnut colored warrior glanced around briefly before she finally rose to her paws. She very tentatively stretched out her paws and dipped the tip of her toe into the steaming water. Reflexively she pulled her paw back, watching the ripples in the water as she shook the droplets from her limb. A smile crept onto her face. It had felt good. Warm. With her tail swaying behind her, and a mischievous gleam in her hazel green eyes, the Winterclan warrior slowly dipped her front paws into the water.
“Oh yea…” She purred as she began to flex her toes in the water. She couldn’t even begin to describe the warmth that crept through her body as she slowly climbed into the hot spring, being carefully not to fully submerge herself. The long pelted she-cat purred loudly as the steam and warmth relaxed her muscles and warmed her entire body. This must have been what heaven felt like…
Cloudywinter hadn't been happy when she found out she'd be mates with a fellow she-cat, the one true blessing was that Flickeringflames was a pureblood. In her eyes, the two could help raise the WinterClan kits, at least until Cloudywinter found a pure WinterClan tom to be her mate and have kits with. So far their mateship had bene going well, good even. The two competent she-cats were friends and somedays even acted like lovers. It was nice, domestic even. And Cloudywinter was glad she'd at least gotten a cat like Flickeringflames, even if she wanted kits of her own, pureblood ones. But now, she wondered on her judgement. The she-cat had just come back from hunting, hoping to help contribute to the slowly growing prey pile when she watched her mate climb into the hot springs. Just what was she doing! It could be dangerous! She would not be a widow this early into their mateship! And for something so stupid at that!!! "Flickeringflames!"

Flickeringflames had just started to crouch down into the hot springs, ready to fully submerge the rest of her body into the warm waters until she heard the familiar voice of her wife. The long-furred she-cat had stood up far too quickly. Her back leg lost its purchase on the already slick rocks. With a startled yowl, Flickeringflames slipped further into the hot spring. The Winterclan warrior quickly clambered out of the hot waters. The warmth quickly receded from her body, leaving her cold and dripping wet. Her ears twitched as she glanced back at her soaked pelt. With a small snort, the she-cat quickly shook out her pelt. Some of her chestnut-colored fur stuck out at odd angles to dry as she turned to look at Cloudywinter with a lopsided smile. "Hey there!" She greeted as she quickly trotted over to her. "You're never going to believe how incredibly relaxing that water feels. I don't think I've purred that much in ages!"
(come be embarrassed for your sister cus her mate is insane and stepped into the waters that are not yet know for being safe lol JadieracerNova)
Cloudywinter stood frozen in complete disbelief, and then anger rose in her. "You idiot!! You don't even know if that's safe waters. It's not been tested yet! Could you seriously be anymore careless!!" Her words had a lacy of concern in them as she stomped towards her wife, fur on end in her anger and her eyes searching the other's form for burn marks. The water could be too hot or deadly animals could live in it. Who knows what it could be?! No one had had the chance to investigate the strange source of water inside the cavern and she was not happy that her mate decided to be the test subject.

"Anyone ever tell you that you're kind of cute when you're angry?" Flickeringflames said, giving her pelt another shake as she shook off some excess water from her hind paws. She looked at her mate with a coy smirk as she curled her tail up. "Besides, Cloudywinter, give me some credit. It's not like I let out a war cry and just jumped right in. I tested it out with my paws first. It's hot but it's not scalding. But I don't think any fish or creature could live in waters like that. I don't even think it's that deep." The russet furred she-cat nosed her flank, pushing her dark fur out of the way to show her wife that there were no burn marks anywhere on her body. "Look see? Its safe! Come on I'll show you."
(yes bring Dappled in! and Silverfury too! racerNovaJadie)
Cloudywinter bristled at the words cute when angry. She was not! And yet a blush still made it way to her cheeks, though one would be hard to tell if it was from that or her anger at her foolish wife. "Some credit? Some?! You might as well have jumped in full body, you're soaked! The waters aren't tested and who's to know what effects they'll have on you later?!?" What..what if they were poisoned?! A slow one, or infested with a disease? What would they do then! Cloudywinter was moments from making a sprint for the Witches when she heard a voice behind her.

"So Silverfury, now that my kits are here it is time to start looking for matches for them. I want to ensure their future now, so I was hoping you might have suggestions" came the soft voice of Dappleglcier. She had invited their brother along to ask for his advice about securing her kits a solid marriage with other pure bloods while they were still young. If they grew up knowing the cat there were meant to marry one day, she hoped that once they were warriors there wouldn't be any resistance on going through with the matches that she selected "Of course they must be pure-blooded from a good family, and..."her voice cut off as the she-cat submerged in the water caught her attention "Cloudywinter, has your mate lost her mind?" she ran forward, pulling Cloudywinter away from the water and Flickeringflames

Flickeringflames pinned her ears to her head. She resisted the urge to curl her lip or roll her eyes, especially when Dappledglacier pulled Cloudywinter away. "I haven't lost my mind." She said calmly, the tip of her tail twitching. Flickeringflames turned her head and quickly began to groom her pelt, smoothing the slowly drying fur. "And I highly doubt the water is poisoned. We're the only cats for miles around crazy enough to actually live in this frozen tundra." The statement may have been a bit overexaggerated, but Flickeringflames couldn't help it. "Not to mention that we were brought up here by the gods. Do you really think they would have brought us up here if it were dangerous? I definitely don't think so. Not to mention there were no scents up here, stale or otherwise. And look at my paws." The she-cat sat back on her haunches and lifted both of her forepaws up. She turned them over, revealing her paw pads. "I told you, I test the water out first before getting in. Do they look burnt? Blistered? Poisoned? I'm fine, the only reason I'm this soaked is that I heard Cloudywinter calling me and stood up too fast. My back paws slipped."
Cloudywinter was embarrassed both for herself and her mate. The she-cat had always prided herself on being a perfect lady, a socially adequate she-cat, one who was elegant and noble. Especially since her whole family was like that. So it was no surprised when he sister asked such a thing, and she only blushed more in embarrassment when her mate denied it. Her fur bristled, but she decided as a good mate, she shoudl defend her lover against her sister. Even if she did agree with her sister. "I suppose, but it may have been too warm. Even I can see teh stea coming off of it. It a fair reason to cause worry to anyone." There, a little in teh neutral grounds....hopefully.
Silverfury smirked at the soaked she-cat. Most cats couldn't stand water especially those who called WinterClan home. After all, getting wet in the often sub-zero mountains was a slippery slope to frost bite and hyperthermia, plus they tended to have long, thick fur coats that took ages to dry. When he thought of just how Flickeringflames was going to make it back home he began to chuckle and then belly laugh, likely catching all assembled cats off guard as Silverfury wasn't one to be so... expressive. He continued to laugh for some time and didn't say anything.

Dappleglacier was bristled out, even as Flickeringflames showed her non burned paws. However the sound of Silverflurry's laughter drew her away from half-drowned looking she-cat and onto him. It was rather unusual to hear him laugh these days, especially over something so silly. Her fur slowly began to flatten out, though there was still a hard expression on her face "Look, I don't know a lot about you but it's clear that my sister likes you a lot" she let her fur brush up against Cloudywinter's "Her happiness means a lot to me, so you should take better care of yourself" it was an acknowledgment of their relationship, but underneath the kinder words was the hint of a threat in her eyes. If she hurt her sister, it would come at a price.

Flickeringflames simply rolled her hazel green eyes. She was always a cat that marched to her own beat, she prided herself on that. But for Cloudywinter's sake, she wasn't going to push it anymore. Instead, the russet colored she-cat let out a nice long stretch, fluffing out her dried fur and flicking her nearly dried tail. "No worries. I've survived this long. The gods aren't exactly ready for me yet."
psst Jadie there at the hot springs inside of camp. Novaracer
Clousywinter hadn't admitted to liking her mate. Tolerating her yes, enjoying her company on days, yes. But never in love or anything. So hearing her sister's words just caused her blush to increase and her face to redden even further. Hearing her brother laugh just caused her to feel dread, for surely he'd never let to go. The tom was far to proper to allow such a thing to be forgotten. He'd tease her forsure. "I would hope not! They blessed us with marriage and you should respect that fact. Clearly they want us around and together, so we best make teh most of it." It was probably the closest she'd gotten to admitting she was enjoying her marriage to eth she-cat before her and with it, she stuck her nose in the air and turn her head as a show taht her point had bene proven.

Flickeringflames was barely able to contain her shock as she glanced over at her wife. She had never heard Cloudywinter admit to enjoying their marriage, and the chestnut colored she-cat had assumed that she just tolerating her because their marriage had been sanctioned by the gods. Though there were times that Flickeringflames wondered if the gods hadn’t made a mistake. But she would never say that out loud. Instead, the she-cat smiled warmly. “To making the best of it then”
