Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Soaringbird had to do double duty, feeding not only her four hungry kittens, but Crimsonrose's as well. Or well Goldenstar and Fia's now she supposed.
But the kits were happily milling about outside of the nursery, Burningsummer having offered to watch them for her for the time being.
Soaringbird had someone she wanted to check on. After all the chaos of the voting and Goldenstar's election, and the loss of Glowstar, there was someone she felt she wanted to see again.
When she spotted Spring sitting by herself, she went over to the younger she cat. As she neared and Spring turned towards her, once again the image of Springlockedgrave was superimposed over her, and Soaringbird felt a tug at her heartstrings.
"Hi." She said softly coming to a stop and sitting down by the cat. "I was wondering how you were doing," She meowed a bit awkwardly, blinking a few times so she could see Spring rather than the ghost of Springlockedgrave. "Glowstar's death has... kind of caused a lot of chaos in the clan," She continued. "And I know you've had a rough time so I wanted to check on you. So... how are things?"

Spring didn't really hang around others much. Well, Solarpaw kept trying to make her feel better, but Spring didn't really go out of her way to interact with others. When Soaringbird came up to her, she pulled back in surprise, wide eyes staring at the she-cat for a heartbeat, before her head jerked violently, and the she-cat became momentarily preoccupied with bracing herself to keep from falling over, before looking at her again. She felt like she could trust the former NightClan cat, though she didn't necessarily have an explanation as to why. "Better when you're not getting beat every night?" She didn't intend to sound snarky, but her tone did sort of come across as if such a thing should be somewhat obvious. Everyone knew now that Defiledblood and Blazehowl had abused her, if the scars over her body weren't obvious enough proof.
Soaringbird's ears lowered and her tail drooped. "I'm so sorry that happened to you." She meowed. "Someone should've intervened sooner." She said softly. "Though I'm glad Wanderingwight did,"
It reminded her a lot of Springlockedgrave. If someone had helped her sooner would she have had a better life? Maybe been able to raise her kits? Or would she have been the perfect scape goat to have kits stolen from. Her trauma and the scars it left on her, seen by outsiders as proof of an unfit mother. Soaringbird regretted ever working with Defiledblood and Blazehowl.
"You know... you remind me a lot of your grandmother, Springlockedgrave." Soaringbird began hesitantly. "She was... a very misunderstood cat. And though I grew up in BrookClan, I didn't know her as well as I wish I did. I only got to really meet her far too late. But she went through some hardships, and she still did okay. She-" Soaringbird winced trying to think where she was going with this. Springlockedgrave had struggled, but had she ever really been able to break free? Not even in death did she seem fully happy, not quite at rest. "She was a good cat. She asked me to keep an eye on her kits and care for them, and well, I can't do much by the litter I had. But I want to be there for you." She admitted, shuffling her paws.
"If hanging out with a former NightClan cat turned maverick is okay with you?" Soaringbird asked, trying to keep her voice light.

"If only someone had gotten to Lakeveil and Blazehowl before I-... Springlockedgrave poisoned herself with deathberries." Spring commented without much thought to the fact Soaringbird might not actually know that the cause of the Vrachii's death. For that matter, it was probably a bit shocking that such a young cat knew how exactly her grandmother had died, but the animal whisperer didn't seem to notice.
Spring blinked blankly at Soaringbird, seeming to slowly realize it was strange how she knew. "I...I don't know?" She answered, flinching back on instinct, as if her lack of knowledge warranted abuse. "...They must have?" Right?
Soaringbird frowned deeply when Spring flinched. Realizing that such horrible knowledge couldn't have been given under pleasant circumstances, pressing on how she knew would only cause her harm.
"Oh no, I'm sorry dear, I didn't mean to alarm you." It was still strange but ultimately Spring wasn't the one to be questioned about it, especially when she was traumatized. "You don't need to try and remember, I don't want to force you to recall painful memories." Soaringbird said softly looking around for some other subject to talk about.
"Are there any fun things you've always wanted to do?" Soaringbird asked. "I've seen your brother pull you along to places, but was there anywhere you've wanted to go?"

For a long moment, Spring remained silent, but when she did speak, it would hardly be something Soaringbird would have expected. "I want to go to the old BrookClan territory, and visit the graves." The golden apprentice answered. "Lakeveil poisoned most of the remaining cats there, mainly my own family, and the rest went their separate ways. There's a few I'd like to see."
Soaringbird blinked a few times, but then nodded slowly. "You know... I haven't visited those graves myself." She murmured, mostly because she'd been trying to put that life behind her. "Perhaps it's time I change that. If you... truly want to go visit them, I can accompany you." She offered.
The last thing she wanted was for Spring to go off on her lonesome to go visit the graves of her ancestors. And Soaringbird should really go pay her respects at Springlockedgrave's... well grave.
