cookie a fawn and dove reunion thread. no rush to reply He was brought back here for pure nostalgia. The newly named Fawnhysteria went on the long trek easily. He had grown into his lineage's legs, a growth spurt that led to him towering over a lot of the other Sunclan cats. He kept looking over his shoulders, eyes blank. Getting followed was nothing new, whether it was one of his brothers or someone else. Still, he figured the long journey would chase them off.
Who really wanted to follow him all the way to Summerclan anyway? Fawnhysteria left in the evening, as the sun was settling into the horizon. And the moon was starting it's own descent by the time he reached the border. He hated to admit his current feelings. Sunclan was okay, his brothers and him were getting along as well as ever. Though they've been teasing him a bit about Aurorapaw. She was so nice, far nicer than he was used to. And that's what led him here. Old habits like staring at the cigarettes through the glass. It was bad and crazy and mad, but he still. Needed it. The odds he'd even find her were so low, but maybe she'd find him again? So he took a breath, and stepped tenatively over the border.
That scent was familiar. She whipped her head up, harsh yellow eyes staring into the distance. She wouldn't get her hopes up. There had been nobody to experiment on since him. But what if it was? Dovegarden had to risk it. She had to know, even if the disappointment crushed her. The garden keeper walked closer to the border, setting down the herbs in her mouth so she could scent him easier.

The late night breeze rustled his tall ears as he waited, his mouth dry. Fawnhysteria shouldn't move forward, every lesson about crossing borders that was scolded into his brain coming back. The yelling made his ears ring. But still. He lifted one of his paws, it curling towards his stomach like a hunting dog's. He knew better. He still took a few tentative steps forward, trying to survey his surroundings. But the tall grasses blocked him, and the wind shifted again. And Fawnhysteria picked up a familiar scent, it immediately made his heart start to race. Or... was it just Summerclan? He wasn't really sure, laughing lowly at himself for getting his hopes up so quick. He skirted by the border, only the few steps in as the reasonable part of him began planning the trek back.
It was him! Dovegarden sauntered over to the cat she could just make out in the barren area. The frigid air didn't even bother her. She was so pleased to see Fawnpaw.
"You've grown, kitten," she called out to him, making herself known the minute she could see the tom. A smile broke out over her face. She couldn't help herself - it was really her Fawnpaw!

The rustling grass caught his attention and he dropped to a crouch, mind racing with excuses as to why he was here. Would they even believe him? He was covered in Sunclan's scent after all, their reputation wasn't the best lately. But then he saw the grey downy pelt and yellow eyes he had seen in his dreams. That familiar purr, it let him stand up fully.
"Dovegarden..." Thought now that she was here, he didn't really know what to say. Maybe some foolish part of him thought she already knew what he wanted. "It's been a while. And it's Fawnhysteria now." Formalities hung on his tongue, even when they weren't needed. Things hadn't changed much,
