if you are interested in giving Goldenphantom a life, you can sign up here warriorcatclans2.freeforums.net/thread/8442/goldenstars-lives she only needs 2 more at the moment. i'll be tagging people once it's your cats turn ~~~ Out of everyone Goldenstar expected to be joining her today, she didn't quite expect it to be Vixenkismet. The apprentices were too young, Ebonygold's joints were acting up, and frankly she didn't trust Brakewings after everything. So she walked along with the cat that looked so much like what she feared. It had been moons and moons since that day when she was just an apprentice. Despite it, she worked to keep trusting Vixenkismet. Goldenstar didn't wanna push her away like everyone else did.
The walk to the Moon Creek was rather uneventful, other than Goldenstar spotting a small lake and just walking away to go look at frogs. There was only a small family, and Goldenstar didn't find Vixen's joke about almost eating one that funny. But the pair moved on, and soon they arrived. It was now her third time here.
"Funny how nothing changes here. Feels like only yesterday I walked up here with Fairytalepaw. But thank you for coming with me." It was a medicine cat's job. Just in case something happened. Goldenstar could guess Vixenkismet had her own reasons for volunteering. And she was curious too. Just who would she find on that side?

Funny, how she'd been here once to get her own lives, and now he was here essentially as a Medicine Cat, for another leader to get her lives. Truly, she didn't think she'd be allowed to accompany Goldenphantom alone, Vixenkismet had expected that someone would insist on going, or demand she stay back. And yet, here she was.
"I was going to say the same. Did you know Glowstar and I got our lives together?" The ex-Priestess had to pause at the memory. It washed over her hot and fast like fire, emotion catching in her throat and making her swallow hard to keep from choking on it. She took a slow breath and blinked. "It's no problem, really." It had been a long time since she'd interacted with StarClan directly and not through a god... pretty much since she'd abandoned them, really. She wondered who would be there, though no matter who it was, they weren't likely to appreciate her.

It was an odd pair, but Goldenphantom didn't really mind. She was too trusting for her own good. But, for now, it was okay. It'd be a headline if anything happened to her, a sigh and then going back to vote again. She hoped she appeased the most determined ones.
"Really? I never would have guessed." She caught the emotion washing over Vixenkismet, and when the other would open her eyes again, she'd find Goldenphantom in front of her. Dark eyes shining with concern, but she didn't touch her. Everyone was hit in some ways, but she could believe Vixenkismet was the one hit the hardest. "It's okay. Take your time." The other was several years her senior, but Goldenphantom spoke softly to her.

Vixenkismet took in a breath. "I'm fine." She assured, though she very much didn't look it. But even still, she refused to be coddled, or maybe she was just uncomfortable with having such a hard time in front of anyone but Funk or Burningsummer. Either way, she seemed to want to drop the subject. "We should get started. Don't want to waste the moonlight." She suggested, clearing her throat.

Goldenstar didn't fully believe her, but she knew better than to force the subject. It wasn't her place, but she hoped Vixenkismet would be able to talk it out with someone. And she hoped Glowstar would meet them there. Even if not to give a life, just seeing her would lift a weight off her chest. "Okay." She whispered, taking her step back to settle next to the Creek. The last time she was here, she could only remember the agony of losing her mother figure then having another life forced into her veins. It hurt, and her eyes shone with that hurt, but she shook it off. Giving herself a mental pep talk, she took a drink from the creek.
~~~
The other side was exactly how she remembered it. Stars making up everything as they stood on the thin line dividing the dark forest and starclan. Goldenphantom had no idea what she'd find here, or who. Her paws trembled below her, holding a laugh back as the stars started to move above them. She still felt so far away from them as nine silhouettes appeared before her.
One of the nine moved forward quickly, her mismatched eyes bright with emotion. Kasdeya had been a reserved cat while she was alive, while she served on the Immortal Council of Dayclan, but she had always had a soft spot for Goldenphantom, whom she had known as Phantom-chan and then Goldenpaw before Kasdeya had been killed.
The tall, wiry she-cat pressed her nose into Goldenphantom's shoulder. It didn't quite feel like a living cat's touch, as it tingled and sparkled against the new leader's fur. "Goldenpaw," Kasdeya said quietly, whispering the old name like a prayer. There was a slight shakiness to Kasdeya's posture as she pulled back- a testament to her joy at seeing her old friend, her placebo daughter, again.
"I am so proud of you," she said, a smile gracing her features. They had met once before in the afterlife, while Kasdeya was waiting in limbo. She had since moved on to Starclan, and peace was written in the same features where the pain of her life in Primal Instinct had been. "I told you that you would go farther than me- now look at you!" Soon she would have to grant her a life and step back, but for this moment there was only the two of them, reunited.
(no not really)
Goldenstar sucked a breath in as she immediately recognized the mismatched eyes approach her. Last she saw Kasdeya, she was trapped in that twoleg facility and the spirit of her mother figure hadn't been able to move on. Now her white pelt was adorned with stars. It brought her relief she didn't realize she needed. Goldenstar sucked in a shaky breath, trying to reciprocate the touch but not being able to. She passed through Kasdeya too easily.
"Kas..." She murmured, eyes tearing up. Her first instinct was still to doubt, doubt that she really did all this. She had an Immortal Council member as a wife, no wonder she became one as well. Hell, hand picked by Glowstar immediately after Kasdeya died. There had been so many highs and lows, she didn't know where to start. But Dayclan voted for her, and now she was face to face with Kasdeya once again. It was the first cat and it already felt like too much. "Thank you. I never could have done it without you."
"And I could not have been the cat that I became without you," Kasdeya said with a warm gaze as she stepped back. Relaxing her shoulders, she steeled herself to give her old clan-mate her first life. "I was born and raised in Primal Instinct, trained to be a cold-hearted killer. I would have spent my whole life that way, had I not found a burst of courage and fled to Dayclan. But I want to give you this advice, the advice I wish someone had given me when I was Kasdeya-kun. The first step is not the end, only the beginning."
"I arrived at Dayclan and thought my life would change immediately. It did not- it took months of difficult decisions, of meeting you, of choosing to be make new choices, before I began to resemble the cat I wanted to. The life I give you is that of Growth. Your selection is not the end of your journey- you must continue to grow, to become the leader you are meant to be. Growth can be painful, and stilted, but the payoff is worth the cost. Even death is not the end for my growth- do not let this promotion be the end of yours. Become someone you are proud of, someone who stands strong in the trials, by choosing to undergo the challenges it takes to strengthen your character."
Kasdeya touched her nose to Goldenstar's forehead, letting the energy flow from her into the other cat's- fully grown! How thing's had changed- body. It was not painful- the life was full of energy, the sensation of being pulled in multiple directions by choices and trials. "I give you the gift of a life of growth, Goldenstar- a life that does not stagnate, but continues to move towards greatness." With that, she stepped back, her eyes speaking of her love for Goldenstar.
As Kasdeya granted her life to Goldenstar a thin black she-cat with stars and shadows swirling about her stepped forward. The third nemesis of Primal Instinct stepped forward. Goldenstar had never met her as their age different was many many many generations in separation. Indy E’tani dipped her head as she stepped forward. “Goldenstar.” She greeted. Her Indigo eyes sharp and clear.
It was supposed to be a peaceful life. And sure, it wasn't painful. But the way it tugged her soul in different directions almost made Goldenstar nauseous. Like it threatened to rip her soul to pieces. The only reason she made it through the feeling was that it was Kasdeya giving her the life. It wasn't supposed to feel that way, but it did. And she felt some relief when Kasdeya stepped back, her eyes shining as the next cat stepped up.
Her days in the League were short, but Goldenstar had never forgotten the feeling of a Nemesis' eyes on her. She couldn't help but be surprised when one approached her to give her a life. She dipped her head to the Nemesis, a part of her struggling for a name. "Hello." This was confronting the past she wanted to run away from.
“I am Indy E’tani.” She meowed “though you do not know me. I know you.” She stepped forward. “I give you the life of clarity. Though a blessing to see things with an open and honest mind...” she eyes shadowed. Memories of her own life flashing across her dark troubled eyes. “Sometimes seeing though the fog can be painful.” She whispered as she touched her pink nose to Goldenstars forehead. She did not wait for the effects of the life to pass through Goldenstar as she stepped back and faded into shadows and glittering stars.
It wasn't long before another cat appeared, tall looming over the others with a piecing golden gaze. His long silver fur swished around his muscular form, head and tail held high and proud "I am Goldenstar" he greeted "You don't know me, but I have been watching you from afar" he had to lower his muzzled and bend his front legs slightly to reach her forehead "With this life I give you legacy, it's what remains even after all of your lives have been lost. It is what others will remember about you, the stories that will be passed down for generations. Build your legacy well"
A massive golden tom walked up to Goldenphantom, "I am Electricwolf," He meowed. "I perished in the fight against the Shadow Era, fighting to prevent the destruction of not only DayClan but all clans."
He touched noses with Goldenphantom. "With this life I give you selflessness. For as a leader you must look beyond yourself and your desires and needs in favor of the needs of your cats. Even if it may cost you your life."
The life rushed through her like an electric shock, warm and all encompassing for a moment. Then passing quickly as Electricwolf pulled away to join the other cats.
Misty clouds threaded through Goldenstar's paws like snakes as a single blue grey tabby paw moved into view, it drew back for a moment before the cat made its entire presence know. The she-cat in front of Goldenstar was a blue grey she-cat with patches of white and grey mixing through her pelt, a combination of tabby and tortoiseshell. "I am Icecream, the martyr of WinterClan," The she-cat said, her face was prettier than any cat Goldenstar had ever seen, almost fake in appearance, like a mask. "When my clan was driven to the brink of extinction I sacrificed my own life to the white ghosts that terrorized my home, restoring peace. With this life I give you courage, the right way is often not the easiest, but the heavens put obstacles before us so only the worthy may obtain victory. Use your courage to be worthy of guiding your clan to victory," Icecream said touching Goldenstar's nose. The feeling wasn't the same as the others, instead Goldenstar felt a falling sensation, the kind one would get at the end of a bad dream. Unlike a nightmare though, she felt the sudden jolt of the landing before the feeling went away.
Icecream was gone by the time Goldenstar regained her senses, in front of her now was a scarlet calico, her tail kinked and her eyes multi-colored with yellow and green. "Greetings Goldenstar, I am Chief Blakelystar and like you I left Primal Instinct to serve in a clan. Unfortunately I brought despair to my clan, as a medicine cat I become pregnant and faked my death in order to not bring shame to WaterClan. In doing so I moved to Toxicity, volunteered my knowledge to save their group from a plague, but instead I fell victim to the viruses madness. I used my knowledge to experiment on orphaned kits, spread the plague, and hid the cure. Science without humanity is a sin, I used my knowledge to hurt others. With this life I give you humanity in wisdom, may you use your wisdom to humanely aid your clan and others, to not follow in my paw steps." Blakelystar dipped her head and took a few steps back.
After Icecreamstepped back a very dark siamese took his place, the blue eyed tom watching Goldenphantom with interest and approval. Even in death he couldn't keep the devilish grin off his face once he was standing directly in front of the golden one-car. "It's a shame we couldn't of met sooner, love I think we would of gotten along great." He paused for a moment only to press his nose against her forehead. "I am Lux, and with this life I give you patience. There will be times where your"ll be stretched to your limits let patience be the light to guide you through."
Following Lux were the final two cats. One Goldenphantom would probably recognize from when she was young, the other, not so much. Eternalstar was the first, with his unmistakable carved smile and severe expression, a cat who seemed more angry at the world than anything else. His mate Timerous was beside him, her expression far more at ease, small stature following him in perfect time. After a moment, the leader might notice the kits racing between their paws, the very kits Foxstar had killed.
Eternalstar stepped forward first. "In life, I never did get justice for all that happened to me and mine. My mother Yellowmoon met her end, yet that didn't seem to stop her. Foxstar took my lives, my mate's, and all my kits but one, and yet DayClan very nearly elected her their leader. With this life, I give you Justice, to ensure the weak, and all those who cannot get justice in their lifetimes, finally see cats punished accordingly." He pressed his nose to her forehead, and burning head seemed to sear the spot, racing down her spot and burning her up entirely from the inside out. White hot rage flowed into her body, flashes of screams from the former Immortal Council member and Timerous, the dying yelps of kits, and Foxstar's ruthless gaze flitting around in her mind.
The pain and fury didn't have the chance to ebb away as Timerous then stepped forward. "I am Timerous, Blakelystar's daughter. I lived in many places in my lifetime, seen beautiful faces, and met cats good, bad, and everywhere in between, by the standards of StarClan. With this life I give you mercy. Justice is important, as is understanding that an eye for an eye and the world goes blind. Not every injustice needs to be met with as harsh a consequence, even when such a thing might be deserved." Her nose touched the place her mate's had just left, and the burning hot sensation was washed away as if by cool water, the rage falling away into a more gentle feeling, one that lingered in the tips of Goldenstar's toes as Timerous pulled away.
