Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She looked the same, but there was something between the new name they gave her and the child like fascination she had with the world that felt off. Blazingbluejay had her memories intact, but there was no attachment to any of these past memories. There wasn't wrath at what Wintrystar did to her or undying love to her kits, it was like amnesia, but with emotions, unable to remember how to feel towards certain events and people. The god of light had said she was purified, but impressionable, which meant she would get these feelings of love and hate back, but they could become distorted. Distorting her emotions was exactly what the rest of WinterClan aimed to do to her. Twist her to be a loyal member of WinterClan, one capable of rejecting her own demon kits.
But some emotions seemed to click instantly, especially with those she spent the most time with. Blazingbluejay had no problem resuming her role as mother towards Maggotpaw or remembering that his real name was Tundrapaw. In the new camp she was curled up next to her son, lovingly nuzzling his face despite the missing eyeball. "It's good to know my son is the most handsome tom in the whole clan," She said licking him atop the head, "Have you made any friends or maybe people who are more than friends Tundrapaw?" She smirked giving him a playful nudge, "Oh and that scar, you have to tell me the battle story for that, I bet it's something co-"
"Actually his name is Maggotpaw," Dottymask said walking up to Blazingbluejay with a smile, no teeth. "And I'm his mother, new knight of the stars. Oh but don't worry, now that the gods have fixed you I'm sure you'll have your own litter of kits to love on. Maggotpaw, why don't you come to your mother," she instructed him.
So Blazingbluejay was now a member of WinterClan, which was fine. The gods made quick work of subduing her into a doe eyed harmless warrior. It was a bright idea, soon the ex demon would have normal kits this time and she and her new family can be used to put Glowstar in her place should DayClan retaliate again.

It wouldn't be an obvious change to anyone else. But Maggotpaw could tell right away something was different. When Maggotpaw was back in that prison, Bluejay had been held down, had a muzzle on, and the bottom of her paws burned. But Bluejay was still Bluejay, and her passions burned. Now, it was like their roles had been flipped. Where Maggotpaw was the impressionable one, now she was. Almost childlike in what she knew. And now he was the one carrying that burden of anger. Listening to what that God of Light said, and knowing what Wintrystar was capable of. Maggotpaw needed to get her out of here, right away. But how? There was no way Howlingnight would help, and as far as he knew, his siblings didn't care enough about Bluejay to help her.
So he was stuck.
He was grateful she remembered him though. This new attention was almost too loving, he had a hard time believing what he felt. What he heard. She wasn't even phased that his eye was gone, just nuzzling into him as nothing had happened. It was a little embarrassing. "Thanks, Mom." Maggotpaw got back into old habits as well, though he quickly blushed when she brought up other cats. He'd never really thought about it, not when everyone here was a potential bully or enemy. "Wha-? No, I..." Hearing his old name, now updated made him stop. That was the one thing he couldn't go back to now. Just hearing it felt like his eye socket was itching all over again.
And then it all came tumbling down, and Maggotpaw knew better than to not listen to Dottymask. But she wasn't his mom. She never was. He played as it since he lost his eye, but that was just a costume and mask. A performance piece where he was just an actor. And he didn't like the way Dottymask spoke to Blazingbluejay at all. "Well, adoptive mother." He was scared, surely Blazingbluejay could feel him shaking. But... he needed to be brave. "Where would we need to go? Aren't we waiting for the others?"
(The demon litters biological mother, Blazingbluejay is now a full member of WinterClan instead of a prisoner. However she has "emotional amnesia" where she has all her memories, but no emotional ties to them thanks to the exorcism she was forced to undergo. However Blazingbluejay is challenging Dottymask, wanting custody of her kits, but Dottymask refuses to let the demon litter go. Right now the demonic apprentices are spectating everything that's happening, but in this rp their fathers identity will be revealed for the first time!)
"Are you questioning your mother?" Dottymask asked, taking a step forward towards Maggotpaw, her claws unsheathed. "Face on the ground, now. I don't want to see that button nose of yours out of the snow until I say so," She hissed.
This was the first time Blazingbluejay and Dottymask had crossed paths and Rottenpaw did not want to miss it. Nor did he want any of his other siblings to miss it, which was why he herded them over to spectate the scene. This was a game changing moment that would either determine that Dottymask had someone who could best her or if she was truly unstoppable.
Blazingbluejay immediately moved her son further back from Dottymask, "What's your damage Dotty? He only asked you why."
"Hm, you're not a demon anymore. You can talk back to me, but he can't, the fact that you shield him only proves to me that you're not fit to raise a clutch of demons like I have. But if you go against my word, the word of a knight, I'll have you running circles around this camp, singing me praises. We'll see how much you want to sacrifice your dignity for demons after that," Dottymask said. There was little fear about testing the waters when she had won every battle that came to her.
"Oh yeah, well I suck at singing and my eyes kind of bad so I'd run in ovals. So ha! But also I don't think Tundra likes you very much. If he would rather be with me I'll always fight for him to have that right," Blazingbluejay said earnestly.
Dottymask's violet gaze swerved back to Maggotpaw, her command still stood. If he obeyed her it meant she still held all the power, but if he refused, hesitated... Then Blazingbluejay really was a threat.

Dirtypaw soon appeared sitting down a little behind Dottymask watching the scene unfolding before her. She sat down, curling her tail around her paws keeping her eyes down towards the snow a smile still tugging at the edge of her lips knowing better than to speak unless requested to do so. The gems that had been fused to her ears reflecting light across the snow in a show of lights with her every move. She listened to Maggotpaw, but didn't step in or comment.Though she was surprised to see BlazingBluejay doing so well. She had faced her own exorcism, though it hadn't cured her. The symbols that had been cut into her still cisible as scarrs through her thick pelt though they had since healed over and were now coated in dirt. The fur hadn't regrown in these spots making it apparent even while covered in filth.
Sinfulpaw did not want to be here. She literally didn't know how to process it. For as long as she had remembered she had always been on Blazingbluejay's side of things, but she wasn't the same she-cat that she used to be. She didn't have an understanding of right and wrong. She was a... child, but she was still more of a parent to Sinfulpaw than Dottymask or Silverfury ever were. So, when Rottenpaw roused her she tried to turn away and ignore him, but eventually she came along with the rest of them. As usually the blue-gray she-cat sat herself in the back of the growing crowd.
Quiveringpaw silently sat behind his sibling, Sinfulpaw, watching the conflict between Dottymask and Blazingbluejay. He was troubled as to who he wanted to come out on top. On one paw, when he got in trouble with pranking Howlingkinght, no thanks to Rottenpaw, Dottymask offered herself to take the punishment herself, which he found a bit surprising considering she was always so harsh with him and his siblings. And, on the other paw, Blazingbluejay was his one true mother but he didn't get to spend much time with her. The one in front of him was somehow different from the one he met from before but he couldn't quite place what it was. But as he saw how she treated Maggotpaw, it made him feel much better that she was sticking up for him rather than submit to Dottymask.

Dottymask had done a good job. When she initially gave the command, Maggotpaw looked down at the ground. He was ready to, though he hated to admit how much he'd been tamed. But then he felt Blazingbluejay pull him closer to her, and he looked up at her with a mix of shock and confusion.
It was almost like she was standing between the two. Something that had never happened in his short life that felt decades long. Maggotpaw could only hold onto his innocence for so long, and then he had to trade it away for cynicism and cowardice. It was how he was supposed to get by in this world, lay low and under the radar. How Howlingnight told him to live. But was that even living. The two argued, and he could almost laugh at Blazingbluejay's shotty defense. But it was there, it existed when it never had before. He was so weak. She was still so much braver than him.
If any other of the demon kits had been where Maggotpaw was, it would have been a toss up. A harder choice. He couldn't blame them, they were taken away and lied to. It was a vague feeling that he was being watched, but he couldn't even see them. It was foolish bravery, to throw himself back into this fight after giving it up, but it was all Maggotpaw knew. Lying in wait, in shame was the worst. He hated it. It was that feeling that pushed him to stare into Dottymask's eyes with his own, a dying light breathed to life again behind his gaze. "No Dottymask. Blazingbluejay is my mom, and I'm done hearing otherwise."
Quick as a viper Dottymask grabbed her son by the throat, her other paw on the back of his head as she forced him into the ground with all of her weight. "Don't you dare," She hissed, her claws plunging into his throat, no fear of them piercing into any fatal arteries, "I raised you, disciplined you, loved you like my own. I did my best for you and you would choose her OVER ME!?"
Dottymask screamed as Blazingbluejay unsheathed her own claws into Dottymask's shoulder throwing her off of Maggotpaw.
Dottymask let out a cry as she hit the ground, standing back up, "SURE! It's so easy for her to be the good guy. She didn't have a chance to protect you, there was no moral grey area she had to work through. She wasn't twelve moons old nursing NINE KITS FOR THE FIRST TIME! I did my best!" She screamed at Maggotpaw. She knew she could demand respect from them, but she couldn't demand their love. But hearing Maggotpaw say it out loud, choosing Blazingbluejay over her just about broke her heart.
Blazingbluejay helped Maggotpaw up, licking at his throat, "You're okay, it's not deep, just a little bleeding," She assured him, ignoring Dottymask.
"You can protect him today, but you won't save him tomorrow," Dottymask said, trying to clear her emotions, but the heart break wouldn't vanish, "I'm a WinterClan pureblood and Wintrystar would never let Glowstar's daughter raise any kits, even her own. Maggotpaw is mine, you're not pure enough no matter what the gods do to you so to hand him back like a good warrior."
Snakefang was disgusted by what was happening in front of him. Before, for the safety of his mate and children, he had to keep his relations with them private. But not anymore. Now that Bluejay, or rather, Blazingbluejay, was now a full-fledged cat of WinterClan, he could now speak out. However, considering her position, he had to choose his words carefully around the Knight.
Padding past her, he stood in front of Blazingbluejay and Maggotpaw. "I am the mate of Blazingbluejay and the father of her kits," he announced, "So if she can't have what is rightfully hers, I will take custody of Maggotpaw and his siblings. Your services are no longer needed."
Mangledpaw only shook his head from where he sat amongst his siblings. Why couldn't Maggotpaw just stay silent and obey? It was only going to hurt him in the long run, and he should know that by now. The black-furred tom honestly worried for his brother and felt himself tense up when he watched Dottymask go after him. He took a glance at his other siblings wondering what their reaction was to all of this. They all knew better than to talk back to Dottymask, though he wasn't too sure about his sister Sinfulpaw...
His ears perked up quickly at the sound of Snakefang, however, and he found himself quickly jumping to his paws. He was kind to them, and Mangledpaw looked up to the Winterclan warrior. What wasn't there to admire? The young apprentice was excited... until he spoke. Mangledpaw was shocked, his yellow eyes growing wide as his mouth went slack-jawed. Snakefang... he was their father? But... no that couldn't be possible..
Blazingbluejay smiled, moving her paw across Snakefang's in a show of unity, "We've been forced to play by WinterClan's rules, but we've still come on top of the game. I became a member, Snakefang's a pure blood, we'd like our kits," She said leaning her head over Snakefang's shoulder with a bold taunting grin as her tail twisted around her mates.
Something inside of Dottymask snapped, switching on the childish spoiled brat locked away by her composure, and well kept elegance. Instead her head lurched back to the leaders den, "WINTRYSTAR!" She called out like an apprentice calling for their mentor across camp.
Howlingnight was closest to the scene, but was already making his way over the moment he heard his mate being called over.
Dottymask waited until Wintrystar walked over before she addressed the situation, "Blazingbluejay wants to take back the demon kits that you entrusted me to raise and discipline. I informed her that she maybe a member, but wasn't a pure blood and therefore not equipped for the kind of care that Silverfury and I put into these kits. But then Snakefang is saying that he's the father of these demons and he should be allowed to take custody of them. But that just isn't right, I've raised them this whole time, Silverfury and I are both pure bloods, we should have custody of the demon kits, not Blazingbluejay or Snakefang."
Howlingnight stifled a bit of laughter making Dottymask whip her face over to him, but he didn't rid himself of his smirk. Instead pausing for a moment before returning a more composed expression to his mate, Wintrystar, "There's nothing wrong with a pure blood and an outsider blood raising their kits," He said simply, his tail tracing over Wintrystar's. After all he was a pure blood, but it didn't stop Wintrystar and him from raising their kits well.
pao (Bluejay wants custody of the demon kits. Dottymask wants to keep custody of the demon kits, arguing that she's fit to raise them due to being pure blood. And Snakefang just revealed that he is the father of the demon kits and that he's a pure blood so he's qualified to raise them. So now Bluejay and Snake are asking for custody of their litter)

It was true. Maggotpaw was a demon. Just a filthy demon compared to everyone else here. It was all the more reason to stick with Bluejay. He was normally good at playing his quiet cards, losing an eye did that to some people. Flying under the radar and only letting himself blip on it when his control slip. When he saw a chance. It's what led to him face down in the snow all over again, like the day he abandoned his name. Maggotpaw couldn't help the shiver as he did everything he could to keep his remaining eye free.
Though as soon as the pressure was on him, it was off. And he looked up to see Blazingbluejay there. She said she would do it. But saying things and doing them were two different things. So getting up and seeing Dottymask in a tizzy as his mom looked over him made his heart leap. Give him back the confidence he forgot he had. "Thanks. I'll be okay." Though Maggotpaw still didn't wanna tell them Dottymask had done worse.
He was a bit too over the moon with Blazingbluejay for it to settle in that Snakefang just admitted to being his father right away. Sure, he was kind to them in that he didn't really antagonize them. But Maggotpaw didn't know him as much as the others. He stared up at the two, almost dreamily, as Wintrystar and Howlingnight joined them. For as much as he was ready to say he wanted to be with Blazingbluejay, he had been taught to wait until Wintrystar spoke. Maggotpaw glanced up at Howlingnight. Lay low, he thought.
Wintrystar had not been pleased to be called across camp like a kit in trouble and ready to be scolded. She was no kit, nor was anyone in a position to scold her of all cats. With a frown of displeasure, she appraoched teh group gathered. She didn't even get a words in when Dottymask started, only causing her frown to increase and a headache to appear. The Sovereign liked Dottymask, but in this moment she was behaving like a spoiled kit, something Wintrystar wasn't one to tolerate. A sigh, and a pinch of the bridge of her nose if she had fingers, she allowed her most unimpressed glare to fall on the group. "Let me get this straight, you, Snakefang, wish to lay claim to kits not born of your marriage to Thunderpurr? The demon ones at that." Her gaze turned on Snakefang, not even acknowledging Blazingbluejay in this argument about custody. Being of mixed blood herself, she saw no harm of being raised that way, so long as your heart and loyalties lied in WinterClan and not with another. That was what being raised proper was all about. Faith, trust, and loyalty to WinterClan and WinterClan alone. "You've hidden this knowledge the whole time? And now expect to just be given custody of these kits?" He was an utter fool if he thought she'd just allow him to raise these kits without saying anything before. Though, she would admit that she may have tossed him in prison along side Blazingblueuejay back then, but it was the principle of the matter and that he held the information back. Wintrystar would never have approved of the pairing between him and poor Thunderpurr with him if she'd known such a relationship to Blazingbluejay and the demon kits existed. The poor she-cat didn't deserve such a tainted mate such as Snakefang. A slow anger formed in the pit of her stomach at the betrayal. "You ask for this, and yet you never spoke before?! Poor Thunderpurr would have been given a better match of that was the case. I are not that one of mixed blood helps raise kits, as long as all are loyal to WinterClan and our causes!" In this moment she basically reminded all that she was of mixed but loyal blood. But she continued, her fur rising on end. "It is the deceit, and lies, and the fact that you have betrayed my trust in doing so! What support do you have for your claims? Why should you be allowed such actions when you've deceived us all? You want a reward for disloyalty, is that it?" The Sovereign was furious now. Not of who would raise the kits, but why the truth had bene with held. Anyone could see the logic in doing so, but Wintrystar didn't care about that. Blazingbluejay was given trust, even the small bit it was, with her rebirth at the hands of the Gods, but Snakefang had no excuse of being of demon blood or foreign blood. He could have had a claim to these kits long ago, after his loyalties were tested of course. But nonetheless, he'd lied and said nothing, and that destroyed her trust in him more than anything.
Being accused of being a liar stung. Ever since he was born in WinterClan, he had nothing but its interests at heart. Not once did he ever consider a moment like this would have become a reality.
Snakefang could feel the rage seething from Wintrystar, but he could have matched her with his own. He silently calmed himself, chose his words and answered carefully. "With all due respect, Wintrystar," he started to say as he dipped his respectfully, "I feared for both Blazingbluejay's and my own's life. Her reputation preceded her. I believed that if I had said anything, especially when she first came to the clan seeking to join, it could, and would, have been seen as treacherous, so I stayed quiet. If she had not been taken in with such hostility as she did, I would have spoken up." Maybe he could have said something back then, but it would have put him them at risk. If he had, him and Blazingbluejay would have been in prison together, or worse, he would have been considered considered a traitor. But it was not as if he hadn't said anything at all of the situation. Two cats already knew, or at least had an idea of his and Blazingbluejay's relationship - Snowbunny and Thunderpurr. He almost wanted to mention them in his explanation, but ultimately he decided to keep that to himself. He didn't want to cause them any unnecessary trouble.
But hearing the Sovereign's words brought some things into perspective. He looked down for a moment He held contempt for her and what she did, but maybe it was his own doing that brought misfortune to his children. Maybe everything could have been avoided if he had said something at the border...
No, there's no point in thinking about "what-ifs".
He shook the thoughts from his head. Looking up and meeting the leader's gaze, he continued. "Wintrystar, I have never lied nor have I ever been disloyal to the clan. Regardless of what did and did not happen in the past, Blazingbluejay is now a member of WinterClan and she has every right to her own children. And since we are mates, we share that responsibility. So we would like our children back."
She watched, listened and made a decision that would effect them all. Full member or not, she did not yet full trust Blazingbuejay, and now her trust was broken in Snakefang. The tom had said nothing, and did not tolerate being uninformed of things. For a time, the sovereign had questioned who the kits' father had been but then had become side tracked when they'd arrived. Their care and raising had been handled with care so as to make sure toy were as loyal as possible. But here Snakefang was throwing her words back at her, saying she shouldn't question his loyalty. Fine, Wintrystar would give him a test. Wicked grin and lowered hackles, she took a seat beside her mate. "Very well. You want guardianship of kits you only now claim. But Dottymask ahs taken the time, care, and resources to raise these kits herself into fine students and loyal WinterClan cats. She has not shown me a reason to have ill faith in her. And yet, you claim I am the one in the wrong for questioning your loyalty. Fine. You may raise your children." She paused, waited and watched. He'd react, all of them would. Part of the she-cat wanted to see to what extend, but after a moment she began again. "Dottymask will handle all punishments how she sees fit, and all excursions, events, outings, and more fall under her care and approval. You may raise them, together if you so please." She said these as an after thought, an olive branch even. "But the ultimate say in things falls to faithful Dottymask. She has cared for the kits well so far, so I see no harm in giving you some leeway and responsibility, but if Dottymask does not approve of something then she may step in and take care of it. Understood?" It was a back handed insult that he be allowed to claim the kits as his, raise them as he saw fit, but have to always worry that what he was doing could be controlled by Dottymask. Vetoed at any moments notice without warning. A simple panic could be canceled in the middle of it if the she-cat so wished it.
He shook his head in disagreement. Slowly, but surely, his patience was wearing thin and his irritation rose. This is going on longer than it really needs to. "That doesn't make any sense. She's not their mother. Blazingbluejay is. If you're saying I, or rather, we, can raise our children, what say does she have? I have seen how she treats them. I'm not sure what's crazier: you thinking her way of parenting is going to raise loyal cats or her thinking she's going to be a part of their lives any further." He knew he was being defiant and it probably wouldn't play in his favor, but he had to say something. Just rolling over and submitting like that wasn't in his nature; he had to say something.
"And you," he said, turning his cold blue gaze to Dottymask, "Don't you have children of your own to raise? You should be more worried about what's yours than what isn't." He then turned back to the Sovereign. "She does not need to be further involved in any way. Blazingbluejay and I will do just fine in properly raising good warriors, Wintrystar."

Dirtypaw watch aghast at the scene unfolding before them, her eyes never leaving Dottymask. Her heart sank low in her chest. So these were the two cats whom had turned her into a demon, the two cats responsible for her torment. Even though she knew she would probably be punished for speaking out of turn, she soon found herself clinging to Dottymask's legs gazing upwards "Please do make me go with them mommy" she pleaded, not even looking at Blazingbluejay and Snakefang "they made me into a demon, I just want to be your good girl" she was shaking now, fear in her eyes as her long dirt coated pelt began to lift away from her skin 'please mommy... I just want to be with you"
"She has been their mother in this time, why would you wish to take that stability from the kits? And not hers?! They have been hers! You did not step forward to claim them and Blazingbluejay was in no state to care for them, what better option than a loyal she-cat such as Dottymask!" Her anger was getting the better of her, her words coming out in a growl and her eyes narrowed to dangerous points. For a moment she rose as though to attack but was held back by her mate. Wintrystar was out for blood now, questioning her decision standing against her, defying her! She would not allow it!
"Snakefang was the tom that helped me find you on that cold windy night. Let's maybe try cutting the guy some slack, before we cut the guy open," Howlingnight said, trying to steer Wintrystar away from ripping the toms face off before looking back at Snakefang, "Listen, the chief said no, move along and take your winnings."
Snakefang noticed Dirtypaw take shelter under Dottymask's and felt a slight pang of betrayal. He did everything he could to be there and show that he was looking out for his children, but it just wasn't enough to make any difference. He cursed. Wintrystar and Dottymask's brainwashing must have worked on them. He would have to address that, in due time, if he wants to repair that relationship.
There were only few things Snakefang was afraid and Wintrystar was not one of them. If it came to an actual fight, he was certain he could have killed her, but it wouldn't have did him any good. She had seven lives and he didn't, as well as allies who could jump in. Fortunately, Howlingnight was there to hold her back and usher her away but not before leaving Snakefang with some parting words.
"I wouldn't call any of this 'winnings', but sure, Howlingnight." he replied before turning his attention to Blazingbluejay.
