Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Howlingkit let out a huge sneeze as she woke up in the nursery. The nest she normally shared with her siblings was nearly empty. Most of them were in the medicine den. She particularly missed her sister Wailingkit, the two of them were always at each other’s side. With a frown she stood up on shaky legs. This was just great, now she was getting sick too. So far it seemed like it was just her and her sibling who were really sick. Some of the other kits also were sick but it wasn’t their whole litters just one or two. That was not helping the whole cursed rumor surrounding her family.
With a frown she settled into an angry looking loaf outside the nursery. Apparently those who were not struck down with the plague were required to stay away from them. Which meant she did not have her usual playmates. Of course with her sneezing and congestion it would only be a matter of time before she too was stuck with the rest of the ill.
A patched pelt followed the appearance of twin green eyes from the nursery, Ghostkit looking sympathetically at her denmate. "How are you feeling, Howlingkit?" She settled down nearby but kept an obvious distance between them, though there was nothing malicious present in the way she did so. She knew nothing of the rumor surrounding Howligkit or her siblings beyond the nursery gossip, but she liked to use her own experience to judge what held truth.
“Okay, though my litter mates are all stuck in the medicine den. I guess I’m just not used to not having them around me.” Howlingkit tried to shrug it off. She thought nothing of Ghostkit’s distance assuming it was because she sneezed and the plague that was going around. The grey kit prided herself on making friends but it wasn’t the same as having a sister there. Sisters were like required to like you and listen. Not to mention the two of them got each other’s quirks.
"I'm sorry. That must be hard," murmured Ghostkit, the nostalgic inflections in her tone betraying that she knew what Howlingkit was going through. Though she'd chosen to leave WinterClan behind to stay with Breezekit, that also had meant she'd left behind the rest of their family, too. What would they be doing right now? Shaking these thoughts away, she asked, "Would you like to play a game with me?"
Howlingkit was released to find a cat who seemed nice and genuinely cared. “Oh sure, do you have anything in mind?” The grey tabby did not always play traditional kit games due to Wailingkit’s issues. They were close but perhaps they could do with sometime apart, developing their personalities separately. There were indications though that Howlingkit would grow up to be a force to be reckoned with. Right now her determination was focused towards helping her siblings, but if she turned that focus to herself she would be unstoppable. Though she is feel guilty by enjoy herself without being dragged down by her siblings.
"We could play with a mossball?" Ghostkit suggested. As her denmate was still under the weather, she opted against any of the games that would exert too much energy, feeling as though tossing a mossball back and forth would be a nice middleground between doing nothing at all and doing too much.
Howlingkit nodded “That sounds like fun” she played mossball sometimes with Wailingkit, but it usually was more to work of her sisters coordination than as a game. So just whacking the thing as hard as she could would be super fun. Actually if she thought about it she spent most of her time acting as a buffer between her siblings and her clanmates. Not to mention she occasionally was her sister’s unofficial psychical therapist. It would be nice to just goof around.
