Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Cherrypaw trembled with excitement as she gathered her supplies, she had carefully bundled all her paints in pouches made from large leaves she’d found throughout MoonClan’s territory. Today was the day. The day she would start her mural of the Sun God on MoonClan’s territory, and she knew exactly where she was going to put it. Her only problem? She couldn’t carry all these paints there by herself.
Dragonpaw was having difficulty adjusting to the new territory. It was vast and exciting and his paws itched to explore every bit of it, to investigate each pile of leaves and sniff his way along the river, yet he lacked the energy he normally would have. Maybe it was because he was still rattled from the big battle and the flames... the flames...
He shook the thought away and straightened up, a determined look settling over his features. "Hey, hey!" he called to Cherrypaw as he bounded toward her. "Where are you going? Take me with you!"
Wow, maybe this was her lucky day after all. She turned, one of the bundles in her jaw as she turned to look at Dragonpaw, her eyes lighting up at his request. She tried to respond but her words came out muffled and incoherent. Finally the tabby decided to set down the bundle in her jaws before speaking again. "Sure!" she chirped. "But you have to help me carry these" she added, gesturing towards the other bundles with her plumy tail. "We're going to the Waterfall."
"Okay!" Dragonpaw didn't have a problem carrying things for her, as long as he got to tag along. "I visited a waterfall once. Not this one, it was over by NightClan I think, outside their borders. Or was it by DayClan? I always get those two confused, even though they're awake at different times. They look the same from the border, you know? Or maybe they don't, and I've only explored one of them. What do you think?"
This wasn't his usual rambling chatter - his voice was fraught with nerves, and he shifted his weight from side to side. He didn't pick up any of the bundles either, though at least he shut his mouth and seemed to realize his rambling was not helping today.
"I don't think I've seen the other waterfalls." Cherrypaw mused allowed. "Does every clan have one? Oh! oh! if they do that's where I can paint my other murals! Dragonpaw, you're a genius!" If her excitement wasn't clear before it definitely was now as she hurried, yet carefully moved one of the bundles in front of Dragonpaw for him to carry. "Once I get this mural done we can scout out the other waterfalls for the others" she purred.
Dragonpaw smiled, puffing out his small white chest. He was a genius, wasn't he? He liked to think so, and now Cherrypaw agreed with him. He bet Bloodystar felt the same too, that was why he let Dragonpaw help with the Morning Prayer when he was only a kitten! His tail arched happily as he dipped his head to pick up the bundle.
The journey to the waterfall was silent though Cherrypaw expected that the only reason neither of them spoke was because neither of them could talk around the bundles they carried. Once they got nearer Cherrypaw could hear the roaring waters as they followed the river upstream to the fall. She had to admit... MoonClan's territory lost it's wonder during the day. Despite it's eerie unsetting vibe seeing the territory in the sun light paled in comparison to the way it looked at night. At least when it wasn't being invaded by the dead. A shiver ran down her spine at the recollection of that night, and she quickly chased the thought away.
Once they had reached the rock face of the waterfall the young torbie set her bundle down, taking a few steps back to visualize her canvas. "I think this spot looks good, what do you think?" she turned to Dragonpaw in earnest, waiting to see what he had to say.
Dragonpaw considered the rock face seriously as he set the paint bundle now. It was a little slick, a little textured, the surface bumpy and twisted and dented. It looked... well... like a rock. He had no idea if it made for a good canvas or not.
"Yeah, great choice! Very rocky, I like the hard parts. I once stubbed my toe on a rock," he supplied helpfully. "I was just a kit, trying to play with my siblings, and tripped and tumbled over a little stone. It was very small and I think gray."
