Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Breezestep waited with her son by a large pile of grass that Chim had erroneously thought would serve as a temporary den. Ghostcrown and the kits had come to SwiftClan just yesterday after the rescue, but everyone had been rattled after the fire, and she didn't have a chance to meet the apprentices until today. She straightened up when she heard their steps approaching and nudged Firetooth excitedly.
"This way," Ghostcrown directed as he led Desertpaw and Spiritpaw on. He had promised the pair he would answer all of their questions once they met his mother, and for the first time since Bloodystar took over, his kits saw genuine excitement gleaming in his eyes. They were going to love their grandmother, and she was going to love them, and they probably wouldn't care for his grumpy brother but that was fine. He pushed his way through the grasses and crossed the clearing to stand between the apprentices and the SwiftClan cats.
"Desertpaw, Spiritpaw, this is your grandmother, Breezestep, and your uncle, Firetooth." Ghostcrown swept his tail grandly toward the waiting pair. "Breezestep, Firetooth, meet my kittens: Desertpaw and Spiritpaw."
Firetooth shifted awkwardly on his paws as he waited silently beside his mother, his nose furrowing at the stench of smoke and burning wood that clung to his fur. Between caring for Jetfire and her kits, as well as everything else since they returned from Sunclan, he hadn't had the chance to wash it out. There hadn't been a formal introduction between him and Ghostcrown's little clones; they had obviously all been together when they escaped from the fire and fled to Swiftclan, and for a brief moment he had even seen the third - the black-pelted apprentice who had decided to go his own way. Perhaps that was just something that ran in the family, despite him and Ghostcrown technically not being related by blood.
He blinked out of his thoughts when Breezestep nudged him, giving a slight exasperated roll of his eyes at his mother's eagerness, though there was a hint of a fond smile on his muzzle. He certainly couldn't blame her excitement; between him being a Medicine Cat, and Floodfate being...Floodfate...these were probably going to be the only grandkits Breezestep would get. As Ghostcrown finally introduced Desertpaw and Spiritpaw, the reality of the meeting finally dawned on the ginger tabby: a niece and nephew. He had a real, actual, niece and nephew. "Uh...hi," he meowed simply, suddenly at an unexpected loss for words. "Glad to see you aren't just figments of my brother's imagination. He would never shut up about his precious kits, it was getting really annoying."

Desertpaw will still rather angry with their father, not even speaking to him. Instead he looked to the two cats that he introduced and something had been on his mind since her first heard the name Firetooth... He sauntered up to the medicine cat, his yellow eye brimming with curiosity. Without any hesitation, Desertpaw sat up on his hindquarters, lifting his paws to Firetooth's mouth and lifting up his lip awkwardly as he bobbed his head from side to side, up and down like he was looking for somethng, before jamming a paw into the tom's mouth to make him open wide as he looked around and then withdrew "Funny, with a name like Firetooth, I expected something cooler inside of there" he sat back down with a disapointed look, before getting bright again "abraadabra!!!" he said pointing at the medicine's cats mouth "OPEN SESAME!!" his lip curled up in thought "Oh I know, FIRE TOOTH ENGAGE" he yelled fully expecting the cat's teeth to burst into flame
Spiritpaw sighed at Desertpaw's actions, she'd always been among the most mature in her age group while Desertpaw was quite the opposite. You'd think putting them together would result in them balancing each out out but, nope, the opposite happened yet again, "I can't believe I'm related to you."
Her words were meant for Desertpaw and, to make it clear, she whacked him on the back of the head. This she-cat held herself with utmost confidence - or arrogance, depending on who you asked - exactly what you'd except from a SunClan cat, "Now that we are in a new Clan, do you think you could try to be normal for once?"
Ghostcrown was torn between exasperation and laughter - he could guess Firetooth would be unhappy with his treatment, and that was the only thing that tipped the balance toward amusement for him. He didn't have his mentor to antagonize anymore, so his brother would have to do.
"You have to pull his tail to activate the fire, Desertpaw," he told him, grinning wickedly.
The small grey-and-white she-cat beamed at her family, taking the pair of 'paws in eagerly. She couldn't wait for her chance, but she didn't want to scare them either, so she wiggled upright and smiled from a distance, hoping they could read that her eyes were full of love. "Spiritpaw, Desertpaw, it's so nice to meet you both," she purred. Breezestep focused on Spiritpaw, seeing she was less distracted. "How are you feeling? It must be hard, being so far from home."

"Well thats lame" Desertpaw muttered, rubbing the back of his head, until Breezestep caught his attention "Sorry Firetail, I'll have to experiment more on you later. We will figure it out" he patted the medicine cat's head turning to the she-cat with wide eyes taking her in "Hi" he said extending his paw "I'm Desertpaw. Spiritpaw said I have to act normal which is more weird than acting like myself if you ask me and way more boring" The gray tom shot his sister a mean look but was trying to do what she had asked "Breezestep... Can you walk on the wind?" he tilted his head to the side "Or are you another cat who has a wierd name that makes no sense"
Breezestep took Desertpaw's paw eagerly, feeling the warmth from his pad. What a polite young cat! She adored him already. "Oh, you don't have to be normal at all around me," she assured him, "just be yourself! I want to get to know you just the way you are. I can't walk on the wind, but I can run just as quick, sometimes even faster." The queen winked at him. "Does that count?"
